I had a show I was as attending at the Irving convention Center and wanted to grab a bite to eat prior to the show. I walked around, looking for places that were open, and this was the only place I found within a reasonable walking distance. As we entered the restaurant, it was a really nice place. Corey, who I believe was the Manager on Duty greeted us warmly and guided us through the menu. We made our selections and when I went to the restroom to wash my hands I noticed a whole other world...an amazing event space that is kind of part of the restaurant. It had a stage, a green room, multiple bars and a really neat space and seating. After my tour, my Eggs Benedict were ready and were they ever delicious!

We noted your request for one of the circular tables against the wall facing the bar. We will do our best to accommodate your seating preference based on availability at the time of your arrival. The table we requested was available upon arrival. We were shuffled off to a corner table in the doorway. As I walked down the row where our usual table is located all the sticky notes listed the names of a specific ethnicity. I'm not of that ethnicity by the way. I understand if you own a business you decide who you serve or if you serve them at all. But don't take a reservation then not honor it just to accommodate their friends and country men. Paid for our 1st round of drinks and left. Never again.

Many of the items on the menu were vegetarian or able to be adapted to suit, delighting this plant-based foodie! Because the team and menu are so new, the sous-chefs and F&B management were eager for constructive feedback and very receptive to my critique. There was only one dish that required that though and the team comped me for the meal, even though I did not want them to! Everything else was a delicious taste journey with well-balanced texture and flavor in unexpected combinations. The service was exemplary - Fernanda, Elexa and Christian were particularly wonderful and attentive. I would write down everyone's name, but cannot recall them all! Even though it was nearly empty, the bartender at the time seemed very uninterested in working. Even the manager who was so friendly the first time, giving us a tour and inviting us back, seemed uninterested in the guests. Thinking it was "just an off night" we tried again. Service by the bartender was much more attentive this time, albeit slow--the kitchen's fault, not hers. While she seemed to not know much about the menu--all questions had the answer of "I'll have to ask the chef"--she was friendly. No more Gigante Bean soup? What?!? That was a main draw! Place was pretty dead. Even though we were not hotel guests and they were aware of that, we were also charged a 20% service charge "for room charges only" that was calculated against full prices, not what was paid for happy hour. Hopefully that went to the bartender since nothing more was added. What started out as a place I was recommending to locals after my first visit, now just feels like any other hotel restaurant / bar where they feel they have a captive audience and don't have to try as hard. Unfortunately, "three strikes you're out"--we will not be returning.

If you've never been to a Brazilian style restaurant (in the US), the first thing you'll notice is the opulent salad bar that sits in the center of the restaurant. There is also a dedicated bar area that's separate and elevated, so you people watch from above. 1 Star. Service - Brasão has the best severs (again I'm biased). The entire staff works in unison with dedicated roles. Your sever will take your order why gauchos walk around cutting meat. Speaking of cutting meat, if you order the Prime Rib on Wednesday, they will cut it at your table to order. 1 Star. Food - The Prime Rib is absolutely sensational. The Prime Rib is so tender, and the au jus adds a little salt. The Prime Rib is sliced and dressed at your table, so you can see the heat and seasonings up close. My bite was so tender and flavorful, it did not need extra au jus. While the Prime Rib is ala cart, it still comes with the standard sides of mashed potatoes, fried polenta, and fried bananas. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. My first visit to Brasão was because the meats were so good. I keep coming back because the service is amazing and the menu continues to evolve. See you next month! 1 Star.

The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable.
