I always have a great experience at a Penguin store. And this location is no different. I usually come when they're not too crowded and the customer service is impeccable. There have been times when I've basically been given personal shopper like service. It was great! But even when I've been here and they're busy I am greeted upon entering and there's always someone who is quick to come over and politely ask if I need help with anything. It's great! I love Penguin clothes. I wear at least 1 piece of their clothing almost every day. And being able to go sopping in person vs online is great. I wish most of their other stores hadn't closed down over the years. But this location is always a must visit when I am in the area. They're always having sales and the inventory is always great. It's hard for me to come here & not pick up at least one thing. read more

I love this store. It's the only place I've shopped over the past two years for for button down casual shirts. I used to go to Tommy Bahama, but quickly got tired of paying $100 per shirt. With Original Penguin, you get great service, a quality product, and a fantastic price (especially when they are having a sale, usually around $30/shirt). These are shirts you'd find at Nordstrom for $50-$60 each. They usually get new shirts every month. I try to visit once every 2-3 months so everything is pretty much cycled out. If they don't have your size in stock, ask a manager and they can check other stores to see if they can ship it directly to your home for free. It's hard to find Munsingwear/ Penguin clothes, so it's great to have an outlet location nearby in Orange. The store is a good size, so they have a fairly broad selection and a good range of sizes. The only thing that's underrepresented is their range of polos. It's really no fault if the shop, it's just that Penguin has such a huge range of polos that it's impossible to represent them all. About a quarter of the store is dedicated to women's clothes, but they don't carry much more than the staples. The store has two dressing rooms, they usually have two workers, and the store doesn't get busy often. So it's usually a comfortable shopping experience. If you're unfamiliar with the brand, I think they are like Hilfiger but slightly more upscale both in quality and in price. However the size scale skews much more towards the thinner, more athletic side. So it can be hard to find items for chunkier people like myself. The store is located at The Outlets at Orange, which is a great mall. It's easily accessible from the freeway, there's usually plenty of parking, and there's a good range of stores and restaurants. read more

I bought about 15 items from the penguin store in Las Vegas, and over half of the items were for my son. But when I returned home, he didn't like most of the clothes I picked out for him, so lesson learned dealing with teenagers. LOL Initially, I thought I had to go back to the Vegas store to return the items, but I decided to call the nearest penguin store which was at the Block, to find out. On the phone I was greeted by a nice gentleman by the name of Rudy, and he assured me that it's no issue returning the items as long as we had the receipt and the tags and everything is still new. Luckily when I arrived at the store, I was helped by the same gentleman Rudy. Took care of everything for me easily, and I was out of there within 5 minutes. So, keep up the great work guys, cause you guys at the Penguin company are awesome! read more

I really like this store it's clean quite no sale pressure and no one following you and none overly checking in on you to see if they can get things for you. I enjoy buying from a staff member Name David I like to call him "Dave". He is a nice guy attentive to me, but not overbearing always tells me about the deals/ specials and how much I can save. I have seen him clean the changing rooms constantly and wipes the counter to pay for items after each transaction. He is very nice has a calm demeanor and soft spoken. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and became best friends at the end of our shopping experience lol Naomi is definitely a great asset to this corporation as she went above and beyond to teach us a little history about where the original penguin started. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Helped me find the size I needed and recommended what styles to wear depending on the situation. I also forgot to use the Yelp coupon and they were gracious enough to redo my transaction to get the discount. Jessica was amazing and so is her name. ;) She greeted me at the door and totally helped me pick out some polos for work. And I'm totally glad she was working there because I wasn't too sure on which polos to try on since they're kinda for men. Fortunately, there were XS and S sizes that fit perfectly. The place was clean, neat, and organized which I think shows how much the employees really care and they actually like wearing the clothing. Anyway, the rewards program gives you a 20% off coupon right off the bat, so totally sign up for that. And they're cheaper than Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom Rack! read more

Opened just a few days before Thanksgiving, Original Penguin's latest factory store at The Block at Orange still has that new store smell. About ninety percent of their retail space is dedicated to Men's Clothing & Accessories (polos, t-shirts, long sleeves, outerwear, shoes and the like). Only a small corner is dedicated to Women's & Kid's Clothing. By the very nature of it being a factory store, you know there's a good reason some of this stuff didn't sell at full retail; fugly is fugly no matter how much you discount it. Lucky for us, it only takes a reasonably-trained eye to get away with some awesome steals instead of coming away looking like Dennis Rodman's stylist. read more

Generally, Penguin stuff tends to be quite expensive you you buy from other retailers. Shirts will cost upwards of $50-$60 while t-shirts are $20-$30. The Original Penguin at the Block actually strays from these prices and actually makes the brand somewhat affordable. It seems like everything in the store is one sale. Sales range from 25% to 50%. It's a great place to buy accessories - I got some bow ties, ties and belts here. The customer service reps are extremely nice. I definitely recommend this spot if you're looking to get Penguin gear. read more

My boyfriend and I came into the store a couple weeks ago and man, were we impressed! Jess and See were so friendly and helpful without being in your face or trying to make any sort of sales goal. They were helpful in locating the sizes we needed whether in the stockroom or another place on the floor. On top of that, they told us about the days they have deals and events and how best to be tied in. My boyfriend has loved Penguin forever and was so sad when the Newport Beach location closed. Talk about first class service from Fernando last night when we stopped in to shop for an outfit. He was very helpful, putting shirts, ties, slacks together for Jeff. They really have a great selection for dressy and casual pieces of clothing. The 40% off sales are outrageously wonderful. Big fan of penguin clothes and what's not to like about outlet store prices. I've been here a few times and they always have plenty of polos and shirts in stock and there is always some type of sale going (on my last visit it was buy one get one 50% off) Typically not a fan of outlet stores because its usually really crowded and everything is picked through (i.e. messy) but the penguin store is really clean and the employees are super friendly. I used to buy my penguin polos and shirts at Macy's but the selection and prices here are way better. read more

TLDR: Best service, life-changing, motivational, amazing deals. Go now! Talk about perfect service in an industry with hard to please customers. This location along with all their employees are the reason why my entire wardrobe is now Penguin. It started with a random encounter while I was strolling through the Outlets at Orange. I had been thinking about dressing more my age (old manchild) and walked in with no real expectations. By the end of it, I had a week's worth of outfits that all mixed and matched perfectly. That's how good the people are in this store! No pushy sales, just a genuine desire to help their customers achieve their fashion goals. I seriously went in to look at a shirt that caught my eye and wasn't expecting to change my wardrobe, and consequently my life. What? Yeah, the clothes were nice, and I bought them tight to motivate me to lose some weight. Long story short, a year later, I've lost 50 pounds and have returned multiple times to switch out my baggy clothes. I'm healthier, happier, and dead sexy now all because of Penguin and their crew! No really. Sounds like I'm embellishing a bit, but if it wasn't for these fine threads, I probably would have stayed a sad fat middle-aged guy. Penguin polos are vintage-y golf shirts that come in vintage patterns (stripes, checkered, plaids, herringbone) and they look good on guys! I used to buy discounted Penguin at Off 5th and Nordstrom Rack.. so I'm wary of disclosing that my accidental trip to this Penguin store led me to TONS of shirts for $20!! (I used to consider $35 for a penguin shirt to be cheap) Not only polo shirts, but button up shirts, v neck sweaters, ties ($15). Last chance rack - hit it.. Too bad the girls selection was so-so. I've been a fan of Original Penguin's shoes for more than 5 years now, but I never realized how great their clothing line is, as well, until I visited their outlet store in Orange for the first time last year. They have an incredibly wide variety of styles in stock, so I pretty much never leave without at least five or six new items for my wardrobe. Best of all, the employees that work here are always extremely helpful and have even made it a point to learn more about me as more than "just a customer." It's pretty clear that they truly enjoy working here and that they sincerely care about putting together the perfect new outfits to help each of their visitors leave happy and confident with the purchases that they have made. read more
