Vitus, is a wonderful neighborhood pizza joint that serves family style entrees, and delicious sandwiches. They have amazing New York style pies. They're fresh and so very good! They have a pizza bar of large fresh pizzas that you can choose from when you're in a hurry and just want a couple slices. They're huge slices that will fill an entire plate. I love the lasagna; It has many delicate layers of tender pasta, fresh cheese, sauce and meat. I order it almost everytime I'm there. They also have a nice fresh salad bar to enjoy... oh, and don't forget the perfectly roasted garlic toast... I really love this place. Their daily specials make it a very affordable option when dining out. You can also order take out or go thru the drive-thru window! Lastly, you've got to order the fried cauliflower with homemade ranch dressing. It comes in a portion that fills the to-go container and is more than I can eat. It's so do good! read more

I wanted to add some detail, so that newcomers would know how awesome this place is. I've never been inside, but I can see their pizza line from the drive-through. They have premade pizzas that they cut into big generous slices, and those slices are warmed up in their giant pizza oven before they're boxed up to go. So you can order pizza by the slice, or have them make you your own pizza. One thing that's awesome is that you can choose thick crust or hand tossed crust, and standard toppings, and you don't need to have 2 slices of the same thing! I like both of their crusts equally, so I will often get a thin crust and a thick crust, both with Canadian bacon and pineapple. They have Pepsi products on tap and it's about $10 for two slices of pizza, hot and fresh and a large diet Pepsi. They have amazing salads. What's great about it is that you can take it to go and eat half for lunch and have half later. They are gigantic again. All of the food is fresh. You can tell that they slice all the ingredients there in their store, these are handcrafted. They have a lot of indoor seating, and I see people there all the time. The driveway to get to their parking lot is rather steep. But when you pull off of 7-highway, just go slow and there is plenty of parking. The drive-through is in the back and they will have you pull forward to the window which is on the side of the building. Best pizza in blue springs! I stop in for a calzone and Greek salad every chance I get

Let me start off by saying that this review is LONGGG overdue! My ONLY regret is that I've probably passed this place a thousand times in the past before actually going in to try a slice.. and let me tell you, the food here IS comfort food! The food? Food's amazing! I'm no pizza expert, but their slices, both thin and thick crusts, are phenomenal! Everything is made with LOVE and the food is always fresh and quick; they even have a drive thru! As far as PIZZA is concerned, I'd definitely rank this among the top for BEST PIZZAS in the Kansas City Metropolitan area! I'd recommended the "Thick" (Sicilian) Style slices! They're not too common for the area and definitely a must try if you LOVE a thicker crust! As far as staff is concerned, EVERYONE here is ALWAYS super friendly and courteous! They are SUPER patient with me and my long orders, always with a smile on their faces! They have a drive thru which was very convenient to order through!! Ordered a 16" pizza and came out in about 10 minutes. It tastes amazing and reminds me of a less greasy version of papa John's. I live 30 minutes away and the pizza was still hot when we arrived home! read more

Great little pizza join that sells by the slice or whole. The crust is thinner and toppings are plentiful! They also have a decent selection of calzones, salads and pasta. Staff was very nice, we had onion rings and cheddar poppers that were very good, the pizza however was not a 5 star it had good flavor but crust was soggy slightly undercooked and too many toppings again making a soggy crust. So I hadn't had Original Pizza since they closed their location in Lee's Summit years ago. I rarely traveled through Blue Springs and when I did it never lined up that I was needing something to eat at the time I would drive by this location. Fast forward to a few months ago when I was at my mother-in-laws house who had just moved to Blue Springs. We were having a birthday celebration and she decided to order pizza from Vito's Original Pizza. She had ordered the chicken alfredo and a pepperoni. The chicken alfredo was an absolute hit and everyone's favorite but the basic pepperoni was also very good too! I would compare it as best as I can without ever going there to a New York slice. Very large but on the thinner side. The crust is very soft and the perfect amount of dough around the edges. I have stopped in there a couple more times and just ordered by the slice which is so convenient! Their sausage and mushroom AND Hawaiian slice was phenomenal and apparently they have a BBQ pizza too which I am going to try very soon. If you are in the mood for pizza and haven't, you should definitely give this place a try! read more

This is by far my favorite pizza in the world. Honestly, in my opinion it is better NY style pizza in Blue Springs, MO than I've had in NYC. One slice of cheese is the best tasting cheese pizza I've ever had with crust that is consistently on point. My brother, wife, and kids all agree. My other favorite order is two slices of combination. I wish I lived and worked closer but whenever I'm near by, I'll try to stop in. Pizza was pretty good. We ordered to go. Threw the pizza in the over for a few more minutes since the crust wasn't crusty enough for our liking. But the taste of the pizza was pretty good. We got the Greek salad.. which really wasn't a Greek salad at all and the put pasta on top? Kinda different... I also asked for no cheese and they still put it on there. still tasted good though once we got the cheese off it. My father owned a small-business pizza restaurant similar to this one, so maybe my review will be a little biased. It definitely reminded me of home. The space itself is small-ish, and nondescript, but there is adequate seating for the lunchtime crowd. I loved the pizza by the slice options and I'm pretty sure it was the owner helping us behind the counter. The slices are HUGE, so we just ordered one slice for the kids and they immediately offered to cut it in half and put it on two plates, which was very accommodating. The pizza was pretty good, although lunchtime slices can never compete to a fresh-baked just-out-of-the-oven pie, so if I ever get back down to Blue Springs, I'd love to order one. Pizza was good and the salad was good, but I have a few problems: The greens were iceberg lettuce which have virtually zero nutrients. The gave me paper plates and plastic eating utensils. Their thin crust is not even close to being thin. The Italian sausage in my pizza looked like preformed meat pellets. They tasted okay but I felt like I was eating processed precooked and frozen meat. The mushrooms on my pizza clearly were not fresh. These mushrooms must have come out of a can! While my food tasted good, the things sited above brought my rating down to Three Star. I do not plan on going back. read more

I drive through Blue Springs all the time, but never stopped. I've only eaten at Original Pizza in Independence Center. I've always enjoyed the pizza from Original Pizza there. So I decided to stop at the freestanding location. They had vegetarian, and Hawaiian, and pepperoni, cheese, and sausage/pepperoni and supreme. They also had calzones. For $6.50 you can get 2 slices of pizza, which are huge, and a drink. The crust is good and kind of sweet, which I like. The flavor of the cheese with thee Parmesan, mozerella and provolone is evident. There's enough toppings to please, and I believe for the price, the pizza is great. I didn't have a calzone, but it was tempting. What i noticed is, it's not a greasy pizza. Original Pizza is better than the Pizza Hut on Highway 7. Give it a try. read more
