Great experience overall! Rebecca was our server and she was super polite and attentive. We came around 10 PM on a Friday, and it was nice and quiet. Loved the complimentary herbs with the bread--such a nice touch. The food was done in about 10-15 minutes. The Italian salad and chicken noodle soup were solid. The rare 9oz filet was overly moist with a strange flavor I couldn't place, and the scallops were just okay. Truffle fries were mid--mostly just parmesan. The food was absolutely amazing! It smelled delicious as soon as we walked in. We were seated and waited on quickly. The place was very nice and clean looking. Everything came out super quickly with no problems - the entrees came out about the same time as the appetizers. I went with my parents, all of us trying this place for the first time. I ordered a prickly pear margarita to start, but ended up going with a moscato after I realized the margarita has a hint of spice in it. But that's my fault for not reading all of the ingredients. We got a combination appetizer - the mozzarella sticks, bruschetta and calamari were some of the best I've ever had. The lobster ravioli was also amazing. We all had to order the $10 entree to take home because it was so good. I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm in the city. read more

My wife had the steak and I think it's about the best steak I've had in a very, very long time perfectly done medium rare... I took a few bites. We ate here about a week ago. Not a good experience. It started with the lack of olive oil at our table. The server brought the bread and dish of herbs, then left. Had to ask for clean glasses to drink water. The kid's spaghetti and meat ballS did not have any. We had to show her the menu where it said with meatballS. When she returned we gave us 1 meatball. She only refilled the water pitcher when we asked. She didn't offer cheese to everyone at our table. The Eggplant Parmesan was way over cooked. Needless to say we won't be returning. read more

Really good for a chain restaurant- I was impressed. Started off with a fabulous Blackberry Sangria. Happy Hour goes pretty late and you get a 9 oz. pour for the 6 oz. price. Manny was our server and he was wonderful. My side of broccoli accidentally came out cold, but he remedied it quickly and then took some money off the bill. I hadn't requested that and definitely didn't expect it, so that was a lovely gesture. We both loved our entrees- the special primavera pasta with shrimp, and the chicken Marsala. When I am hungry for a really good filet mignon, I come to Carrabba's, it is the very best of any that I have eaten in the Kansas City area in the last five years. I ordered the Tyrion either Fettecine, lasagna and permission chimed was horrible first it was served cold everything the soup and the meal. They redid it it was hot but terrible I hate to say it even Olive Garden or a frozen dinner was better. I also found a bone in the chicken soup. I guess your best is now is your lunch specials. Although Carrabba's is a chain (prefer local) their are some things that keep me coming back. Most locations will have the trademark foliage growing on the roof and flower/herb beds as you enter, and I like this visual suggestion as if what your about to eat is supper fresh. It will not be, through all the salt, seasonings, and cheese occasionally you catch that super preserved added ingredient taste. Born and bred American this Italian/American fare is the stuff I was raised on. As I've grown up right along with the KC foodie scene I've been made aware of what homemade chicken Marsala or eggplant Parmesan is meant to taste like. You would be remiss to think I don't like Carrabba's, because I do. I like the hot bread that comes out as soon as you sit down with olive oil and crushed seasonings on top , so much so I always ask for more to dip in their mama's chicken vegetable soup. I like the wood burning brick pizza oven that keeps the place smelling like fresh hot bread and toasted cheese. Things I could do with out. Hit or miss service. Last time I went all patrons were sat in the exact same section by the front door where all the chill was coming in brrrrr. The place was virtually empty but they had 3 waitstaff. Time before that unclean glasses (lipstick marks) and utensils (caked on noodle) yuuuuck. Impatient, hovering service. It was probably the end of there shift and they were ready to get their drink on, I get it but I'm not the kind of person to not tip. I know what servers make. Even in high school if I couldn't afford to tip I didn't go out to eat. I do not reward bad service though, bad service, minimum tip. That being said I've been when service was killer. Introduced themselves, presented specials, gracious and kind, kept the drinks full, knowledgeable on drinks and menu, almost instinctively know when a need had arisen or when to allow for privacy. Disappointed. The chicken parmesan was stacked on watch other for delivery so they were stuck together. Food was cold and there seemed no pride in the prep. Red sauce was at least good. We warmed everything up again and had a meal we could have made better with little effort. Last night my sister graduated over at the Cable Dahmer event space. We decided to go and dine at Carrabbas right down the street from there. We were all very hungry after the graduation. We were told we had to wait for a table that they was sitting for a while and we understood that. So we waited about an hour. A server told us that we would be seated no matter what. Even though they were close to closing. We waited patiently knowing we had a big group. So we waited outside for a bit. Finally the table we were waiting for got up and left and so we moved inside to get ready to be seated. The server cleared our table. As we we're getting ready to be seated the manager, Regina came out and said they aren't able to serve us because they only had two servers. So of course we were pretty upset because they just seaTed a table about the same size as us before us. We explained to her how long we waited and that now she can't serve us other restaurants around us are closed. That we understand that they only have two servers and that she knew that before having us wait an entire hour. So we asked was there some sort of way to accommodate us for the wait and she said she doesn't have the authority to do so we asked for the corporate number. She told us to Google the number. At this point she and another manager started to get rude. Because my sister told her she was being rude and non chalant about the situation she told my sister to get out. The cook came out and was very nice saying he will cook everything but at this point we no longer wanted to eat in their establishment but thanked the cook as well as the server for being so kind. We were told both managers were very rude to the staff. We will never dine here again unless those managers no longer manage there. read more

Tough for me to mark Carrabas at a three but this place is like stepping back into a bad 1990's restaurant. The food was ok, it used to be a smidge better than olive garden in the italian chain world. I would say it now is equal to or a but less than what Olive Garden offers. Wait staff was nice and attentive. Just something about the place just felt dirty though, I cant quite pinpoint it but stop by and you will see. read more
