Pizza and salad is sooo good. Don't skip out on the Greek salad with no meat. Seems family run and I'm happy to support them over chain

It's unfortunate i can't give zero stars. We stopped at the drive-through to order lunch for the family and the man in the kitchen making the pizzas had his mask pulled down on his chin, so his nose and mouth were both uncovered while working directly with the food, and the man putting the toppings on my slice was wearing a clear face shield that only covered the top half of his face, so he was breathing all over everything in the restaurant. I canceled my order and won't be back. So disappointing that they're not taking public health seriously. read more

This restaurant used to be good when it was located on Chipman Road in Lee's Summit, but has gone down hill since. I remember back then when I ordered a sausage pizza, the sausage was rolling off the pizza, there was so much. Now this place is nickel & diming the toppings to such an extent, I would rather go to the grocery store and get a frozen 'Tostino's pizza. Last night I got a pepperoni pizza, it had 1 1/2 slices of pepperoni total, and I called the restaurant to ask if they had a shortage on pepperoni. When I called, the person on the other end said no one else calls to complain about their pizza, I'm the first one calling, as if to say they have no room for improvement. When I asked him how he'd like it if he bought pepperoni pizza with 1 1/2 slices of pepperoni on the whole pizza, you could hear a pin drop! A year ago this place left 2 toppings off my ordered pizza, and of course I didn't find out until I got it all the way home. This business must really be struggling to be so crazy miserly. read more

The pizza was good standard run-of-the-mill pizza. Plenty of real cheese and fresh vegetables. What was a nice find was that they sold pizza by the slice. When you're on the road traveling the last thing you want to do is have to eat an entire pizza, not that I wouldn't try. A quaint little pizza shop, nothing fancy nothing that stands out. All thin crust pizza, not quite New York style but decent. It be better if they used fresh veggies and made their own bread. I do have to knock a star down since this particular location just seems to always be overcrowded and claustrophobic almost for my personal taste. Just about anybody trying to set up shop in a old Dairy Queen is going to fail at amenities, but the food as mentioned, still rocks. read more

Original Pizza is one of only two places I am aware of that you can get GOOD New York/New Jersey style pizza in the KC area. We still miss the one at Metro North that closed down in Jan, 2010 but this one is just as good. Come here for a refreshing change from D'Bronx or if you are in the area. What really bothers me about pizza reviews is when people call a big slice of pizza, "New York Pizza." Original Pizza is NOT New York-style pizza. NY Pizza is very thin, OP was not. When I think of NY Pizza, I think cheesy melty cheese on a large foldable-slice that you have to eat in big chomps. Not so here. 1. The cheese was rubbery 2. Not enough sauce 3. Canned Mushrooms... please! The only decent thing about the food was the salad and that's not that hard to mess up especially when you are telling the guy what to put on it. Mr. C and I were the only customers in this "revamped" Dairy Queen. Revamped is an overstatement really because it still has the crap-tastic fast food joint flourescent lights and you order your pizza from the counter. This place might as well be in the mall. $6.50 for two slices and a drink is a good cheap price, and you definitely get what you pay for: okay, cheap pizza. My review: Food: Rubber pizza=blah Service: Unenthusiastic and uninvolved. Would I go back? I'd rather go to D'Bronx or even better? Pizza Hut!!! read more

I looove Original's pizza. The first time I'd ever eaten their pizza was in high school. Rather than serving Pizza Hut in the cafeteria, they served Original instead and let me say that I was stoked about the change, not that I don't love Pizza Hut, but I prefer Original. We ordered the NY special and it did not disappoint. (Also, the Greek salad was a meal in and of itself.). The family running the business were also very sweet and bent over backwards to please. Excellent place to grab lunch or dinner. Most of the time I get the daily special. 2 slices and a drink or salad. The slices are huge and I usually eat the 2nd slice for dinner. Greek salad is always superb. Nice staff makes you feel the hometown atmosphere. Only downside is having to reheat the slices due to lower volume. read more

Grabbed a slice for the first time ever on Friday crust was fabulous but the sauce left me wanting more, something with flavor and life something Italian. Came all the way from Minneapolis for the Vikings Chiefs game and first thing we did is go to eat at Original Pizza before we even checked into to our accommodations. We moved away 11 years ago and we still crave the pizza and Greek salad from here. We went on Friday the 1st of November for lunch and when I opened the door there was Vito with the same big smile as always and his son right by his side. His employees were the same as when I moved away and the pizza and Greek Salad were just as amazing as I remember. Not only is the food great but it is also incredibly affordable. My favorite is the combination, where the pepperoni is sliced so thin it crisps up in the oven, the green peppers and onions are diced so small you taste the flavor absorbed in the pizza, without only tasting the one thing. Oh man, Original Pizza is our go to pizza place. They have a wide variety of pizza toppings (including anchovies!) and a good selection of Italian dishes. Sizes are generous and they have fair prices. Staff is always cool and fast. Never have had issues. I'm from the east coast and this is the closest you'll find locally to an authentic NY slice of pizza. It's awesome. Forget Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Papa Whoever, get your pizza here. read more
