I had the chicken shawarma sandwich combo, which came with fries, coleslaw, a side of picked carrots and sliced pickles and a drink for around $17. The drinks are canned, along with bottled water, and the sodas are mostly off brand (Sam's cola etc). Napkins are paper towels from the dispenser. The sandwich was good sized, fresh and hot, with a tzatziki sauce, and the fries were plentiful. Overall, an enjoyable meal, save for the drinks and "napkins". read more

I love a good Shawarma and have been wanting to go to this place for a while. It definitely did not disappoint. Service was quick. I called in my order and the gentleman took my call was polite and when I arrived, they confirmed who I wasn't said it would be up shortly. After looking over the menu again, I asked if I could order some grape leaves I said no problem. Food was outstanding. The french fries were crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside and I am a french fry junkie! The Arayes is kind of like an Arab version of a quesadilla in my opinion, and it was very good. I went with the spicy version garlic sauce and it had a little kick- if you like that kind of thing- and I do! What really convinced me this place is legit were the grape leaves. Now first let say the best I've ever had are my mom's and when I see this item is on a menu I always get them! They almost always fall short of the mark- even When in high end restaurants! The guys here told me they were made in house after tasting them I would have to agree- they were pretty darn good and would order them again! You can't fake something like that. I discovered the Original Shawarma House while picking up for a delivery, so I had my own delivery done in which I ordered the chicken shawarma with yellow rice, tabbouleh and baba gannoush. I had missed a good shawarma place and thought the chicken was seasoned very well along with the accompaniment of the rice. The portion size is generous for the price which kept me going for a day or two. The tabbouleh was very well done, fresh and flavorful. The baba gannoush I felt did not hit the mark as compared to other baba gannoush I have had, nonetheless that was more personal preference than anything as the quality was not diminished. There are a few Shawarma places which I will drive 4 hours to reach, but this is one of them. Easy to find, in a good neighborhood flanked with residential and other worldly shopping opportunities, makes it a happy little corner of STL. We were greeted by cheerful fellas chopping fresh veggies next to chubby toddler sized cones of fresh meat happily spinning on a grill. The guy manning the counter grabbed samples of every single bread and sauce for us to make an educated decision as first-timers. We had the Arabic Shawarma in both chicken and beef. Both were phenomenal. They gave us additional sides and even more of their delicious sauces for dipping and enjoying. Super friendly staff and incredible food. A new year, a new review! Out in about and found Original Shawarma House (OSH) in Ballwin, MO and excited to give them a try. Not very knowledgeable on shawarma but OSH provided a great experience for our visit. OSH has traditional shawarma ready for trimming as well as a variety of side dishes to complement whatever you order. After reviewing the menu we went with a Mixed grill plate of beef/lamb and chicken shawarma with your choice of spice or seasoned rice and a side of baba ghanoush and tabboulah. Both sides perfectly complimented the meal. We also ordered 2 chicken shawarma sandwiches which were loaded with chicken and toppings. Both were excellent and perfectly seasoned. Pita bread was very light and toasted another win! Seating is limited but can squeeze on or 2 parties of 8 but can be a challenge as OSH is very popular during the weekend, so plan ahead if you're planning a large group. This place is AMAZING! Don't hesitate! GO! One thing I really enjoy about them is that their portions are HUGE! The workers are so patient with our questions and there is plenty of seating if you want to dine in. Everything we have had here is delicious! Also plenty of parking for small and large cars. Tried this place for the first time and we really enjoyed it! The woman working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. We got the beef shawarma plate to go, and it came with a ton of rice and meat! The beef itself was a little greasy, but with the rice and sauces that come with it, the flavor was great! The spicy rice has a nice flavor to it without being too spicy. The tabbouleh and hummus was nice as well, a nice compliment to the beef and rice. The best shawarma in the Midwest! It is hard to find more authentic arabi shawarma but this place is it. Everything was so delicious. We got the arayes shawarma and beef shawarma arabi along with loaded fries and tabouleh which is enough for at least 3 people. Portions are great (on the bigger side). As for our loaded fries, we did half red and half white sauce and half chicken and half beef. Pricing is good. Great option for a quicker meal and will definitely go again! Original Shawarma House is very close to both my barber and my dentist. It has been on my list to try since it opened, and I finally found an opportunity. I got a haircut right before lunchtime and was unencumbered by others who did not want to go there. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma sandwich in saj. You also have a choice of a pita or a tortilla. I highly recommend the saj. Pitas tend to be too much dry bread and I save my tortilla consumption for Mexican food. The fillings were rolled in the saj and grilled very nicely. I can't recite all of the ingredients that are included with the large load of chicken, but there were sour pickles and some sauce. This was delicious. I asked for some spicy sauce and received sambal oolek which really went well with it. I did not even need half of this, but I am not a huge eater, especially at lunch. It was great left over the next day. They offer beef as well. I was a little surprised that lamb was not included, which would be a good choice. I really look forward to returning. read more

The Original Shawarma House opened recently and is located in a strip center on Manchester road in what I believe is technically Winchester. I stopped in on a weeknight because I wanted to try it. It's a fast casual situation. I ordered the Beef Shawarma Plate. There were lots of choices. My plate included the beef shawarma meat, spicy rice, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and 2 sauces. They brought the garlic sauce and what I think was the pomegranate sauce. The two best things here were the garlic sauce and the spicy rice. The shawarma was tasty but slightly dry. I'm sure I will go back and next time I would try different things. I'd get hummus instead of baba ghanouj and I'd try one of the other salads. There were a fair amount of people eating here. Always glad for new options in west county! Looking forward to the baklava as well! read more
