Love me some tommys. Just a real wholesome staple to any summer afternoon double chili cheese burger chili cheese gets and a root beer make my day complete. World famous chili ! The chili is very heavy.. with no beans just straight up beef. The chili dog is topped off with onions, tomatoes, and pickles ! The hot dog casing has the perfect snap when you bite into it. Chili cheese fries are also delicious to start off your meal.. when I finished eating I felt like I was going to have a heart attack . This is a tiny little walk up Tommy's. We didn't know this as it was quite cold when we decided to go. We are from Arizona and my husband always has to find a Tommy's when we are in town. Everyone was primarily speaking Spanish around us but our order was clearly heard and made exactly like we wanted it. Wow, if you like heaping globs of chili on your burger, fries, and possibly soda, this is your place. Although, I would come again to this classic joint, I can't say this is the best chili I ever tasted. I guess westerners never tasted good chili before but this stuff is bland and I think has too much cheese for its own good. I was in SoCal and was in need of a good burger. My friend recommended Tommys, so I had to check it out! This place is quite small. It's a little shack on a corner lot with a walk up window to order your food. There are a few tables outside for your dining options. I ordered the Combo #2 (cheeseburger, fries and a large drink.) My friend says I had to try the chili in my burger. I was a little hesitant to try the chili, because I'm not really a chili person. However, to experience a real Tommys burger, I guess I had to have the chili. So glad I did! The burger would have just been another typical burger if not for the chili. It was delish! Good thing this place is mostly a Socal exclusive because I'd probably weight in at about a good 300+ lbs if they had Tommy's in the bay. I went to the Westminster location last year while on a weekend trip and had the chill fries and chili burger. Now back in the bay I'm use to the chili fries and burgers from Wienerschnitzel so I was sort of thrown off when the chili burger came with tomatos, pickeles and etc lol. My only complaint is that the food sort of took forever to make and they use those open containers if you're taking the food to go (my food got kind of cold when I got back to my hotel). But if I'm ever in the neighborhood again I'm most definitely going back. read more

If you want to get some food that'll make your mouth water as you're watching it get cooked, this place is the spot for you. Their Chili Cheese Burgers are incomparable to other places, the flavors meld together really nicely. I also like the fact that they have Cherry Coke, a lot of fast food places I've seen don't have it. The things that bring this review down to a 3-Star are: The lady at the register must be hard of hearing, because I've told her several times that I wanted extra onions on my burger and she comes up with "You wanted extra tomato, right?". Even worse when she thinks I do want cheese on a different burger and I ask her two or three times to NOT put cheese on it, because one of my friends is Allergic to Dairy products! They have a recurring Winged-Termite problem. It's gone right now, but I've seen them two or three times where they will have termites swarming the Bug-Zapper at night and crawling across the counter where the workers put people's food.
