We visited on a weekend with a party of 12 and no reservation. Despite a large crowd outside, we only waited about 30 minutes -- pretty impressive. Parking is shared with nearby businesses, but there were plenty of spots. The dining area has lots of tables, though it's a little tight on space. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout. The food was delicious across the board. I ordered the Molcajete, which came loaded with refried beans, chorizo, avocado, potatoes, a sunny side up egg, carne asada, grilled slice of cheese, and pickled purple onions. The portions were huge -- I couldn't finish mine. The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I added shrimp for a little extra and it was absolutely worth it. Others at the table ordered the chilaquiles, which come in red, green, or a combo, and can be customized with chorizo, short rib, or other proteins. The feedback was positive, though the portion size looked a bit small compared to other dishes. The very berry French toast was a hit with my daughter. She loved the sauce -- flavorful but not too sweet -- and the bread was perfectly toasted on the outside with a soft center. The burritos were generously sized. The surf and turf stood out, with perfectly cooked shrimp and meat. The sauce had a bit more kick than expected, but it was delicious overall. The carne asada fries were also a great size, with fresh, quality ingredients and great flavor. A few things to note: there are no fountain drinks, and the agua frescas don't come with refills. The menu has a great selection of Mexican-inspired café drinks -- café de olla, Mexican hot chocolate, lattes, and more.

10/10. Great service. The staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable of their menu. It was busy when we went but our food came fast. Our food came sooner than our coffee that's how quick the food service was. Everything was delicious. Tasted amazing, we loved everything. I loved that they greet you with some conchitas. Our coffee/hot chocolate was 10/10. We ordered the 1/2 green/red chilaquiles and they were soo delicious, very flavorful and crunchy too, it came with eggs and beans 10/10. We also ordered the molcajete 10/10. It's shareable, and comes with a lot of food: delicious soft meat, potatoes, chorizo, egg, beans, salsa and cheese. A must try please!

    - friendly and enthusiastic staff with great service - clean and well lit - very busy at the time we came, waited about 30min on a Saturday @11am, it was quite the wait for others as well but they were efficient - easy parking in the plaza 1. Chilaquiles Rojos 10/10 - delicious, flavors of the short rib and the tortilla with the sauce complemented all so well - short rib has a kick of spice which was perfect for what we wanted - comes with side of eggs and refried beans - very hearty 2. Short rib flautas 10/10 - soooo crispy and the short rib was the same from the chilaquiles having a nice kick - definitely recommend this!! 3. Homemade horchata 10/10 - not pictured but this is one of the best horchatas I've had, really nailed the flavor profile

Listen - if I'm going to be completely transparent, they had me at the free mini conchas that they give to you before you even order. In any case, I feel like this will be a pretty well rounded review, because I've been there about 3 or 4 times already. First - if you go for brunch on the weekend - there WILL BE a line (as there should be). So expect to be waiting for around 20 minutes. Its okay though, cuz its worth it. Second - once you're seated - look around. I say this because you'll inevitably see a bunch of plates making their way to their table... and this will give you inspiration to order what's to be the meal that will give you a very nice nap later in the afternoon. I can't tell what you to get, because literally everything I've ordered from there - whether its the Berry French Toast or the Short Rib Hash has been phenomenal. So literally - just order whatever your fat baby inner child longs for and enjoy the ride.

Bandoleros is a small hidden gem in OC that you definitely have to check out. The parking is relatively large so parking is easy. From the outside doesn't look like much but when you go inside it's definitely a vibe yall! Good music playing service was nice and helpful! The food is also pretty good as well! The price is mid to high but overall you get your moneys worth! Overall if your around the area check them out !

Came across Bandoleros while scrolling yelp for chilaquiles.. saw a handful of pictures and knew I HAD to go! It did not disappoint! Chilaquiles verdes with carne asada was a flavor bomb! Their frijoles were tasty AF too! Abuelitas iced latte with their complimentary conchas sealed the deal for me. Can't wait to come back! Side note: They were packed at 11:30AM on a Monday. But service was quick and friendly! Food came out fast, hot, and fresh! Don't hesitate to add yourself to the waitlist :)

Another swing, another home run! Got the Cali Omelette today, spot on! Working my way through the menu and only have a couple items left until the final boss. Bulk Molcajete...I'm coming for you!

To begin, when we first got sat, they made a mistake and sat us first over another party of three that was ahead of us no offense, but that was the hosts mistake and they should've accommodated us and said sorry to the other party not us. I didn't want to make a big deal about it so we just got up and waited another 10 minutes. Honestly it was very embarrassing for a mix up like that to happen from an employee and us, the guest that y'all sat be punished for it. Ambiance wise the servers were nice but I feel that they really didn't care about that mix up. I guess mistakes happen so oh well what's done is done. From there we just ordered our food. The bandit burrito, pancakes and cali omelette. They were all good but nothing wow about it. They all have a slight kick in spice which is something that I liked on the burrito and omelette. It's on the pricier side for what we got in my opinion.

    Pan dulce awaits you

First off... WOW. Today was our second visit to Bandoleros Cafe and it did not disappoint. We actually stumbled across it a couple weeks ago, but the line was so long we had to tap out (hunger won that round). On our way out, a few people waiting told my husband it was absolutely worth it--and now that we've been back twice (yes, we were just here last Sunday), I can confidently say... they were 100% right. From the moment you sit down, your table is set with fresh cold water and pan dulce As someone who loves a good concha, this alone already had me smiling. My first visit, I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with asada--and let me just say... they were so good they almost made me slap my husband. Lucky for him, he was sitting just out of reach. He ordered the asada burrito, which was massive and packed with flavor. Today, I went with the huevos divorciados with asada and a side of papas. Everything was just as delicious as I remembered. I also have an 8-month-old, and while I usually bring her food from home (I prefer cooking her meals without salt), our server--whose name I sadly can't remember--was so kind and accommodating with how I needed my daughter's eggs prepared. That level of care really meant a lot. I also have to mention how well the staff works together. It's a cozy space and gets busy fast, but everyone moves like a team and keeps things running smoothly, even during the rush. And for the final review from our table--my daughter gives her eggs two very enthusiastic baby thumbs up. We'll definitely be back for another brunch at Bandoleros.

My gfs and I tried this spot on a Monday morning. There was a wait but not bad! The food was pretty good! I got the Mando Hash with onions and salsa on the side. The salsa was spicy, sooo good! The braised beef on there was really tender! I also tried the banana French toast. It comes with banana bread. Pretty good too! Sweet but that's a given haha. My friends also tried the chilaquiles and mixed berry French toast. They liked their dishes too! Service was great. Only downside was they forgot our complimentary conchas. So we thought maybe it's not complimentary anymore? However, when my friend asked, they actually made up for it by packing us some to go. Way to go with the service! We were told their conchas are made fresh in house! Ambience/atmosphere was good no complaints.

Bandoleros Cafe is a popular locally owned Mexican breakfast restaurant with this brick and mortar location opened in 2023. I came here two times for in-person dine-in and expect at least 15+ minutes wait if you come here after 9:30 AM on Saturday or Sunday. [Parking]: Easy and free plaza parking. [Setting]: Customers will need to put their names on the physical paper sign in sheet at the entrance. While this place is packed on weekends, I had no issue placing a phone order on weekdays - no wait time on weekdays. They have bar seats so you can get seated earlier if your party is flexible on grabbing bar seats. [Menu]: The top two Yelp recommended items are Cafe De Hoja and Chilaquiles Verdes. For Chilaquiles, customers can order half verdes and half Rojos. Adding protein will cost extra, but I HIGHLY recommend adding short rib (as recommended by the staff). They will also ask how would you like your egg cooked (scrambled, sunny-side up, over-easy, poached, etc). *** Chilaquiles - half Verdes and half Rojos (buttered crispy chips / green tomatillo salsa / red guajillo salsa / crema / queso fresco / red onion / avocado / radish / micro cilantro - served with beans garnished with chorizo & queso fresco / 2 eggs any style - $18 + short rib $6): Short rib is simply a must get - it had an amazing melt-in-your-mouth texture. Verdes had a really nice spicy and vinegary kick. Personally I like verdes slightly better than rojos. Amazing bean - slightly sweet, not too heavy, and had a smooth texture. It had enough portion to split into two meals. Cafe De Olla (Regular *No Refills* $5.25) & Cafe de Olla Hot Latte ($6.50): A hint of sweetness & absolutely lovely drinks. While I love regular and latte version, I think latte version is simply a must-order. Complimentary concha: Not overly sweet - can't say it was the best one but the baked bread did the job. Chorizo Burrito (Eggs / chorizo/ peruano beans / roasted potatoes / jack cheese avocado salsa - $16): Burrito had a good spicy kick with chunky potatoes. Good avocado sauce with a vinegary kick & overall this is an a-tier burrito. Bandit Burrito (Angus grilled ranchera / peruano beans / eggs / fire roasted pasilla peppers / potatoes / guacamole / jack cheese / Titi's salsa - $17): Similar burrito chorizo burrito except the protein was replaced to asada. Can't say it was the best breakfast burrito I have had in LA/OC, but the portion was big and it was still a solid a-tier breakfast burrito. *** Overall the cafe offers a cozy dining atmosphere and s-tier Cafe de Olla Latte + s-tier chilaquiles. Come here on weekdays to avoid any wait and expect good food & super friendly service.

The food was great from start to finish. The chilaquiles were chef's kiss. I loved that there were different options and that I could add meat. My partner is vegan and worked with the server to make the chilaquiles vegan, and they absolutely loved them. They also had non-dairy milks, which was a great bonus. The molcajete was another standout. It is huge, packed with flavor, and definitely something you will want to share. The drinks were next level. The Café de Olla Hot Latte and the Abuelita Chocolate Latte were both so comforting and delicious. Honestly, they were two of the best lattes I have had in a long time. The complimentary conchas were such a sweet touch. The whole place is colorful, cute, and full of personality. The service was top notch. Everyone was friendly, interactive, and genuinely helpful, which I really appreciated since I could not decide what to get. So, I got both green ans red chilaquiles We went on a weekday in the middle of the day, and it was pleasantly busy without feeling overwhelming. My sister-in-law mentioned that it gets really packed on weekends, so try to arrive early if you plan to go then.

This is a cold dish, so it was refreshing on this hot day. Some chicken pieces were on the drier side, but the truffle flavor was so good! I was also surprised by the surf clam! It wasn't too chewy and wasn't too spicy! The ong choy was another standout, as the sauce was a nice difference from the standard garlic sauce in most Asian vegetable dishes (sauce was on the sweeter side). However, one of my guests thoroughly enjoyed their cheese enchilada. Overall, we had an enjoyable time. If they could improve on their burrito they'd be a full 5 star experience, in my opinion.

Nothing special here, just good ol' classics and a nice offering of specials for their Mexican brunch. I came on a Sunday morning for brunch and was delighted to see so many options on their brunch menu, but their menu is quite expansive too so it has everything that anyone could want from a Mexican restaurant. The best thing about this place that stands out above the rest? I would say their complimentary chips and salsa... only because it also comes with warm homemade beans. The food was great, don't get me wrong, but those beans made me rethink my existence. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were just your average chilaquiles, nothing important. But I will say, their plating is impressive! Was pleasantly surprised when the food came around. Parking is plentiful and service ended up being kind and fast as well, the food had a little bit of a turn around after we ordered but I'd say it was worth the wait. Bottom line though? I wouldn't come here again for Mexican food unless it was for brunch. Its elevated Mexican food, but nothing a mom and pop Mexican place can't do better and cheaper.
