Where do I begin? My family and I planned to dine at the restaurant on Friday, but the place was booked. My wife and I decided to stop here on Sunday to see if we could get a table. We were in luck; we got a table. Yay! The waiter was immaculate. He was on point and delivered his line on what's on special and recommendations since it was our first time. My wife and I ordered the rib-eye steak; mine was bone-in. The steak melts in your mouth. We did not leave any leftovers since our dinner was delicious. The waiter came by asking if we wanted dessert. He mentioned that the desserts are made from scratch every morning. With both of our stomachs maxed, we decided to order the carrot cake to go. My wife was tempted to try the carrot cake while I was driving, and gave me a piece. If I weren't diabetic, I would have snatched that cake from my wife and eaten the whole slice of cake. Another Laughlin stop when we make the trip there. A very good steakhouse that always delivers for us. This time around, I decided to try one of the toppers and got the Cajun topping with my porterhouse. It was a heavenly surprise. A great tasting topping that took nothing away from the always delicious and perfectly cooked steak. The fiancé got the Chicken Laredo which was surprisingly good for a steakhouse. Although sides are hardly mentioned, I recommend the loaded baked potato. The staff is always great and one staff member always manages to help the other so that service is always top notch. We stayed at the Golden Nugget where this restaurant is located. Walked down at 5 to put our name in for dinner and came back to our room. We were told the wait would be 45 mins, but it was really about 15. Great service and we got a table with a view of the beautiful Colorado river. The ribs were fall off the bone, chicken was delicious, and the green beans were really well seasoned! We got the chocolate cake and sadly, it was really dry. Located downstairs in the Golden Nugget on the riverwalk. Arrived for an early dinner. We were greeted immediately and seated at one of the window tables. We had an awesome view of the Colorado River. Charles, Our server, took our drink and appetizer order while we scanned the menu. Charles was very polite, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you ask to be served by Charles. He was very helpful with our questions and made perfect recommendations. My favorite mushroom appetizer was served piping hot with a ranch dip. Our most recent trip to Laughlin Nevada we stopped at the saltgrass steakhouse. Normally, we are content with the prime rib room at the Riverside, but we ventured out this time. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants but I was impressed. we made reservations two days before we dined. Luckily we did because it was quite crowded. We got a table within five minutes and ordered shortly after that. The server was attentive, but not overbearing. I ordered my T-bone Pittsburgh style came out perfect. On a personal note. Our goal was to enjoy a great meal and have a birthday celebration at this Saltgrass location in Laughlin...Sadly, we ended up leaving before we could even finish our meal. We have visited this location on several previoys dates. This occasion was not at all enjoyable! Now we realize there is some "noise" to be expected. But to have nearby customers be SO LOUD that WE were unable to even have a conversation, let alone attempt to enjoy a BD dinner. Our food was good, what we could try to enjoy...but when the environment becomes SO LOUD AND BOISTEROUS that you are unable to enjoy your meal??? Additionally, the staff made us feel rushed and we began our meal at 5:30 p.m.!! I submit this review in the hope that mgmt takes note of these comments and possibly attempt to remind those parties that there are other guests trying to enjoy their meal and conversation also. Forgot to make a reservation for our large group of 10. They told us the weight could be up to an hour, but we have eaten here EVERYTIME, and wanted our friends to try it, so we stayed. We only had to wait for 15 minutes and we got a table with the river view (thank you staff). We were treated like kings, our cups were never empty, salads and soups came out quick, hot and fresh. Even the appetizers came out before our main courses (which is a plus, in my book). The steaks were all cooked to perfection and the grump was grilled perfectly as well, I love it when you can taste the fire from. Grill. I took my husband to this steakhouse for his birthday. The first thing I would like to acknowledge is how attentive the staff were. Giselle and Chloe are just a two of the amazing employees that gave us some of the best service we've ever had. Seriously their service is impeccable. Their food was also delicious. I had the filet mignon prepared, medium rare with fried asparagus on the side. Both were delicious. The asparagus had a great crunch on the outside and a nice crisp on the inside. I saved the homemade ranch dressing I got with my salad to dip my asparagus in, and it was mouthwateringly delicious. We really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant and took several interesting pictures of their decor. We had such an amazing birthday dinner that we can't wait to return. Thoroughly impressed! We ordered a porterhouse and bone in ribeye both medium rare, and neither disappointed. For the price it was well worth it. The meat was super flavorful and was cooked correctly plus the butter they put on top only added to the experience. As a side we had sweet potatoes and the sweet cream butter proved to be the perfect the addition. Our waiter was extremely helpful guiding to what foods they recommended and making sure our needs were met while we're there. The restaurant was adorable! Even though the seating was a little tight they did a great job of making it feel spacious with what they were given. Made a reservation about a month ago and when we showed up they were ready to sit us. We had a great river view! It was 5 of us and even with the picky eaters in tour party we were taken care of all the time. Our drinks were fast, and the level of detail when taking our order was impressive. Everything came out at the same time, proper temperatures. The dressings in the salads were definitely fresh (made in house) and the portions right. The same with the steaks: all came out cooked as ordered, except for the sirloin steak that was well done and was a little chewy because of that. The sides (baked potato, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans) were also perfectly portioned and flavorful. This place is always been consistent when it comes to flavors and service. I had an amazing experience today at Saltgrass. The food was overwhelmingly delicious. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries and an extra side dish, which was a loaded baked potato. The sandwich was just perfect. It was juicy, tender, and--most importantly--delicious. The fries were crispy, and the loaded baked potato was tasty. The service was excellent. The waiter was incredibly polite, and he was very kind. He served my cola hastily, and I am very grateful of his hospitality. He brought my delectable food out very quickly, and I must thank him for his amazing job. The ambiance was decorated. This restaurant is incredibly clean, and I found no problems with the cleanliness of my silverware, plates, or food. This is one of "the places" locally. Like people name drop "I went to Saltgrass this weekend". Yet, out of my half a dozen visits I've never been overly impressed. I'll review my most recent visit. Went with another couple for a double date, and we all got steaks with range rattlers and fried pickles to share. The appetizers were good, nothing insane. You come here for a steak, so let's get to the steak. I went with the biggest they had, the 22oz Silver Star Porterhouse, medium rare. I also got it smothered, which means onions, mushrooms, and garlic butter. The cook on the steak was a fine medium rare. However, here's really the crux of why Saltgrass is just average to me. They seem to fear seasoning the steak. I'm talking basic salt, pepper, garlic. Anything. Even smothered, with garlic butter, there's a lack of that saltiness, sear, or any other flavor on the steak. Please just give me a pinch of something. The service is excellent, bread service is good. But when the table of four comes out to like $240, I just need some seasoning. read more

Be sure to get here early for dinner or else you'll most likely be waiting in a 2-3 hour queue to get a table. We came at around 4pm on a Saturday and didn't have to wait at all. I'm honestly not sure if you could go wrong with anything on this menu because everything we had was delicious. I really appreciated how many different types of steak they offered because I was able to figure out what I wanted based off my mood. I had to go for the porterhouse though and honestly it was cooked to perfection literally a perfect medium rare like WOW. It was so juicy and the seasoning wasn't overpowering so the flavor of the meat really got to shine. The same goes for the filet mignon. I was pretty impressed given how many tables they were serving at once but the quality of the steaks did not drop with quantity. I'm not usually an appetizer person but wow did these impress. We got the fried mushrooms which were lightly breaded and came with this delish creamy sauce. The crab cakes are a must order. There were sooooo much plump crab pieces that I would say 90% of it was crab!! The shrimp cocktail was super unique because it not only had cocktail sauce but also a pico de gallo on top. Parking is free and they also have free valet at the golden nugget. If you get seated at a table closer to the entrance you might get the smell from the casino smoke wafting throughout the meal. We were seated all the way in the back of the restaurant so the smoke smell didn't bother us. Honestly Saltgrass did not disappoint. So we ate here in December and it was fantastic. Came in again on Jan 18, ordered the exact same thing I'd had on the previous trip. Lobster was awesome. Shrimp cocktail amazing. Petite steak sucked monkey ass. I told the waiter that it was tough and grizzly compared to what I'd had the last time. In fact it didn't even taste close to the steak I'd had before. We also ordered a dessert to share and it was great. When he brought the bill, he'd left off the steak and the dessert charge. I'd assumed he was comping those due to my dislike of the steak but approached me a few minutes later with a new bill. The steak and dessert was back on. I was pretty pissed. I would have gladly paid for the dessert but the steak was crap. I told him so. And I was also planning on leaving him a 70 dollar cash tip for what I thought was a comp due to my complaint. What he got was a 30 dollar tip and a pissed off customer who questions whether we will come here again. We hit Laughlin about once a month or so. Do not sit at the bar! The Hispanic female bartender was so rude and had a major attitude. I'm sure she assumed because we were two females that we would not tip well. With the horrible service we received she was correct. I always tip 20% or more because I once was a server. We were ignored for a good 10 minutes if not longer before we had to ask, " can we please order"? Other people sat after us and were helped before us. If the staff is reading this, you know exactly who you are. This was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've ever had. I arrived just five minutes late to put my name on the waitlist, and was accused of being 20 minutes late. Fine -- I asked to be added back on the list and waited another 45 minutes. When I came back to check in, I asked if I still needed to wait in line just to let them know I had returned. They said yes. By the time I got to the front, they told me I was late again -- because I waited in the line they told me to stand in -- and said I'd now have to be added to the waitlist for a third time with another hour-long wait. I asked to speak with the manager, hoping for some basic understanding. Instead, I was met with extreme rudeness and zero sympathy. Not only did the manager brush me off, but they acted as if I was the problem -- despite the fact that I had now spent nearly three hours just trying to get seated. This place is chaotic, unprofessional, and clearly only cares about how many people they can pack in -- not about the actual experience of their guests. I ended up going to the steakhouse at Harrah's and had an incredible dinner with respectful service and great food. I came here on a Monday night, around 6pm and placed a takeout order. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye with green beans and a slice of carrot cake. I sat at the bar while I waited for my order. It was PACKED for a Monday night. The ribeye is large, tender, nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked (medium). The green beans were also nicely seasoned, had a nice crunch and was a good portion. My favorite part of the meal is the CARROT CAKE! It's a generous portion, so moist, not too sweet. The cream cheese frosting is light, fluffy and not sweet. This is the second time I've eaten at Saltgrass. We were here on a weekend getaway to the city of Laughlin . I have always been lucky enough to be seated by the window with a view of the river. These tables are great ( I would request one if it's available) as it can get pretty loud in the center of the restaurant. This is a Landry's restaurant, so we always try to use or Landry's Select Club card to earn rewards. ( it's free to sign up and has many ways to earn ) The server was attentive, and very quick to grab our Espresso Martinis from the bar. These are my favorite drink, and Saltgrass makes them soooo good! We also ordered the fried pickles and peppers- the peppers were spicy but in a good way! We also ordered the filet and the Chicken Laredo. ( I forgot a picture of the food except the fried pickles and martinis!) It comes with bread, a pretty big portioned salad and a side... we opted for the mac and cheese and baked potato- it was so much good, we could have shared one meal!!!! Everything was cooked perfectly and served quickly! The food is great, reasonably priced, and the menu has something for everyone. ( pub food included!)
