The buffet has been on and off since Covid, this was one of my favorite places to eat. When I heard it reopened we went tonight for dinner what a surprise greeting at the counter. The hostess must have been around when the Avi first opened basically clueless over charging for the buffet. After finding a table I immediately went to the Prime Rib Station and to my surprise hits precut thin sitting in au jus for 3 hours. I asked for a piece of medium rare from the kitchen no can do. Asked to see the Chef he exited through the back door. The place was empty lack luster. For $24 a person buffet they had the combination of breakfast and dinner together. No French fries just chips, no coconut shrimp, no bake potato. A small piece of chicken (frozen) cordon blue, Tilapia, dried pork shredded BBQ. The Mexican section the chicken looked spoiled sitting its juices not refrigerated. The variety of desserts looks like they came from Smith's supermarket. The place was emptied and the staff was slow to refill your drinks. The ambiance was horrible. I recommend stay away the only reason it's open they are remodeling another kitchen. Finally the so called Chefs wearing the jackets look like a street gang with all the tattoos dressed in white jackets, but very polite with their hands tied to serve substandard food. I felt sorry for them. I would have given no stars just a half they are lucky to get one.

See photos below,,, They express my opinion only of the quality and service we received at Avi Resort's Native Harvest Buffet on Thanksgiving Day 2023. The one photo is the advertisement of the Thanksgiving buffet from Avi's Facebook page,,, The other photo is an actual photo of the turkey we were offered that day. QUITE A DIFFERENCE! Needless to say, our party was extremely disappointed and will not go back,

After eating here on Friday night for their famous crab legs, we decided to come back for brunch and dinner. Yes, we ate here 3 times in a row. I posted the crab leg buffet Friday nights under Avi Casino Buffet, accidentally, but either way, I think the crab legs deserved its own review. Now on to the not so good. Their food for brunch and dinner, not counting Friday's, was pretty horrible. BRUNCH: Where should I start? Their food was either too salty or bland. The French toast and pancakes were cold and tasteless. The menudo and refried beans tasted like it came from a can, which it probably did. The bacon was overly salty. The machaca was dry and too greasy. I did enjoy their coffee, French fries, canned fruit and cottage cheese. DINNER: They offer prime rib and fried shrimp on Saturdays. The prime rib was over done, tasteless and dry. The fried shrimp was okay. I had some pasta with cream sauce and added the chicken from the salad section and that was good. Their mashed potatoes were yummy. Dessert was horrible except for the dessert at the flambé station. You must get dessert from the flambé station. The staff was friendly except for some of the people at the stations. They looked over worked and were quite grumpy. I understand though, it must be tough working at a buffet with a bunch of hungry people. Our waiters for brunch and dinner were great.

Why don't we EVER check reviews before going into these places!?! The food is disgusting, dried out, greasy, no selection, it's 12:25 and there only dried out breakfast items remaining alongside some old battered cod and dried out taco meat. This buffet looks like it went through hell and back. Here comes the chef the lady behind the counter says! Which chef? Chef Boyardee can cook better than this guy. The ARCO's AM/PM has a better selection in Needles, AZ. Luckily the manager gave us a refund and we walked out without having to suffer from any buffet-arrhea! AVOID! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I came here with my two kids and my husband we really wanted to try the crab legs but they didn't have them but I tried the prime rib it was delicious. Then I noticed they had shrimp scampi so I decided to get some. The cook Ana she was the one who made the shrimp scampi it was very delicious I noticed that people where ordering ice cream with fruits so once I was done eating I decided to try it out I got the blackberries and strawberries with vanilla ice cream it was delicious. I just want to point out that Ana is an amazing cook and she has excellent customer service she was so kind and sweet and this is what made eating a beautiful experience. Thank you Ana. I hope to come back soon. I hope we get to have Ana cook for us again.

We had a hard time finding anything that tasted fresh. Most of the food was either fried or heavily covered in sauce, and there weren't many lighter or freshly prepared options. The hibachi station was especially disappointing because it was out of meats every time we went back, making it difficult to actually enjoy one of the main attractions of the restaurant. While the prices are relatively inexpensive, I still felt it was expensive for the quality of the food we received. In the end, none of us ate very much, and we ended up going somewhere else for dinner afterward. The customer service was perfectly fine, and the staff was courteous. However, one thing that really stood out in a negative way was a young man handling food who had extremely long fingernails on both hands. That's simply not something I want to see from someone preparing or serving food I'll be eating. I hope they improve the freshness of the food and keep the hibachi station consistently stocked, because the restaurant has potential. As it stands, though, it just wasn't an experience our family would repeat.

The young man working the register, serving drinks, bussing tables by and cleaning up around the whole seating area and buffet area was the only one really working and the only friendly person there. All the food looked old and dry, some worse than others and we had to ask a couple of times if they could make more because it looked gross and really old(what was left anyways) all of the desserts were literally hard as rocks, even my favorite donut sugar balls. Taste was off and they were hard and crunchy. I literally showed my hubs by jamming my fork in it (took three tries) and tapping it on the plate. Hard as a rock. Sushi looked and tasted great but the stir fry ingredients were all dried out, including the sliced meats. There was an older man there, the older always grumpy faced lady and the two younger girls there but they didn't do much. There was an older gentleman who walked in and stood waiting at the register for quite a while before saying "hello?!" I had to tell the young girl that the man needed help but she didn't help him. The older lady just stood at the back watching and the young man came running out from making drinks to help this man. Because when we got there everything was either old and gross looking or the tray we're almost empty, I didn't eat much. Oh and since all the desserts were old and rock hard hubs tried to get an ice cream but unfortunately there was none. Boo Sad that no one there seems to care about the quality of the food and service. There over an hr and not once did anyone ask if we needed anything or refill our drinks. Oh and the booth back rest was broken so the big guy seated behind me had me bouncing around in my seat every time he moved. Which he did a lot. Annoying.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best Mexican food on either side of the Colorado. Starting with the freshly made corn and flour tortillas (I usually eat flour tortillas, but at El Charro, I will choose corn tortillas 99.9% of the time.) The chips are terrific with two salsas brought to the table. The Choriqueso is a cheesy deliciousness. I am not really a pozole fan, but here, it is very good and really has an awesome taste. I always get their menudo. Lots of honey comb and a good ratio of corn to meat. For me, the fact that I can get pata is great because it is becoming harder to find many restaurants that will provide you with that delicacy. I always alternate between their different tacos and this time I got a tripa taco. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is great here. Well fried and crispy and with their hotter salsa spread over it, with fresh tortilla, I am in heaven. From my first trip to this restaurant, I have always loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. It truly feels like a great little Mexican restaurant and I am happy to see they have expanded. I envy all you folks who live in Bullhead City and have easy access to this restaurant. I live in Phoenix and no trip to Laughlin is complete without a stop to El Charro.

When we politely asked why, we weren't given an explanation--just repeatedly told that we couldn't bring it in. We were confused and even debated whether we wanted to stay. I eventually asked another staff member, who kindly explained the reason behind the policy. Once it was explained, we completely understood and were fine with it. A simple explanation from the beginning would have made all the difference. The rest of our experience was wonderful. Our server was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout our meal. The food was also delicious, and everyone in our party really enjoyed it. The place looked great except for the restroom trash can was overflowing with paper towels, maybe invest in a bigger trash can if you have that much foot traffic However, toward the end of dinner, we noticed another family with a child who had a water bottle at their table. That left us confused all over again. If the policy applies to everyone, it should be enforced consistently. If there are exceptions, those should be communicated clearly. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but the inconsistent handling of the water bottle policy left us with mixed feelings.

She handled what was a very serious and sensitive moment for me and my large group with such sensitivity and grace. She was understanding, empathetic and she made one of my least favorite moments so much easier with her willingness to work with my group. She found a way to accommodate us even though we mis-counted our party size by 2. I am so aware that this wasn't easy for her and that it adds to the already stretched staff.
