Dr. Hernandez and every member of his professional support staff have been with him for many years, and each is as skilled, compassionate, and dedicated as anyone could hope to find. Although I have been a patient of Dr. Hernandez for a number of years, I recently chose to undertake a lengthy and complex process to restore my teeth to a condition better than they had ever been--even before a serious automobile accident decades ago. During our discussions, I mentioned a procedure I had learned about. While Dr. Hernandez was aware of its existence, he willingly invested the time and effort necessary to research it thoroughly and determine how it might best be incorporated into my treatment. Throughout the extensive work performed on both my upper and lower arches, Dr. Hernandez and his entire team have been consistently supportive, encouraging, and kind. Equally remarkable, I can honestly say that I experienced no pain during any of my visits. It is difficult to adequately express my appreciation for this practice. Clinical excellence, professionalism, compassion, integrity, and genuine concern for patients are evident in every interaction. I do not believe I could offer a higher recommendation. Dr. Hernandez and his staff represent the very best of what dental care should be. -- Max Stephens

I needed a cleaning and either an implant or a bridge for a broken tooth. The new patient cleaning…read moreand exam process was excellent - but, I didn't form my negative opinion UNTIL seeking a second opinion due to the high prices received in my treatment plan. (3 unit bridge for my missing tooth -$6000, one crown on tooth that needed to have amalgam filling removed -$2250.) When I arrived at the next dentist with my x-rays from Dr. Scott Anderson's office, the dentist concurred with the work needed - with one HUGE difference: He said that, first & FOREMOST I should remove my badly decayed WISDOM TOOTH. I replied, "What wisdom tooth" thinking they had all been removed. He then proceeded to identify it to me in his X-ray AND Dr. Scott Andersons X-ray. Furthermore - he said that he would refer me to an oral surgeon for that work - but that he would recommend that I have that tooth extracted because it was a health issue while the others were mostly cosmetic. (Please note that the wisdom tooth was still fully in the gum, but it had opened the gumline just enough to allow bacteria in which had started the decay process - it was impacted and likely beyond the scope of Dr. Scott Anderson's ability to remove it as well). I asked the new dentist if it was possible that Dr. Anderson could have 'missed' that badly decayed tooth in the x-ray - to which he replied, "No dentist could miss that tooth." This led me to only one logical conclusion: Dr. Scott Anderson chose only to create a Treatment Plan based on quick, easy, profitable work that he could perform. I call that 'selective dentistry'. The sad thing is that the overall experience was positive (prior to me finding out WHAT HE FAILED TO INFORM ME OF - WHICH WAS MY MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM - THE WHOLE REASON X-RAYS ARE TAKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE). So, Dr.Anderson was completely content to perform $8250 worth of 'gravy work', only to leave me with a badly decayed wisdom tooth (which if you could have seen it after I had it extracted, would have surely had me in serious pain within a short matter of time) - only to probably 'inform' me later, when I returned in pain - that, 'Oh - I see - you have a badly decayed wisdom tooth... here, let me REFER you to a specialist - oh...and see my receptionist on the way out to pay for your consultation fee!' His office contacted me to return for another cleaning - at which I explained all of this...predictably no one reached out with as much as an apology. This just reinforces the practice of ALWAYS seeking a second opinion. By the way... that 'broken/missing tooth that had created my need for a bridge' was a molar that was decayed approximately 35-40 YEARS ago... I went to my dentist who said only that it had to be extracted. I declined. I sought a second opinion. The next dentist said IMMEDIATELY (and without knowledge that I was getting a second opinion) that he needed to do a root canal followed by a crown. He NEVER even offered extraction as an option! I got to keep that tooth for 30+ additional years! GET SECOND OPINIONS - and DON'T TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE THE SECOND OPINION.

Dr Andersen is in network and our payments should equal EOB patient responsibility. When inquired about one of the charges, the office said they apply difference to other family members on the same insurance. Well this never happened. I have, in good faith, made many attempts to address this with the office since 6/13/24 and finally requested for the office to upline it to the dentist. Not one time someone reached out back to me on this issue. Even though I provided the copy of all EOBs and payments in question along with my reconciliation. Attempt by MetLife representative on 9/10/24 to reach the office also failed. 3 months later, the answer I still receive is that billing did not have time to look into this.

We needed a new dentist and a recommendation was made to Dr. Zaina Timmons Farah at Lakewood. We particularly needed a dentist who was extremely skilled in very technical dentistry in order to deal with a family member's complicated situation. I made an appointment for a new patient visit for both of us and sat back pleased with myself. And then it happened. We were sitting in a restaurant and my husband exclaimed when his upper bridge fell out and onto his plate. So I desperately got on the phone while eating lunch to see if our new dentist could take an emergency visit from a patient she had never even met yet! I told our waitress what happened and she asked who our dentist was. I figured there was no chance at all that she would know our dentist given the size of Houston. When I said it was Dr. Zaina she exclaimed, "Oh wow, I know her, she's absolutely wonderful and if you look her up on the Internet you'll find she's the best in Houston!" As has always proven to be the case, the staff in this office are great and they were able to get us in on an emergency basis. We saw Dr. Ray who was able to squeeze us in. We both thought Dr. Ray was delightful. And then when Dr. Zaina helped figure out what was going on and what needed to be done in short order, I can't tell you how happy we were! Everyone we've worked with at Lakewood has been very professional and I was so impressed to find that they have their own lab on site to work on their clients' needs. This means that you as a patient are a top priority. How often have you had work done elsewhere and waited months for things to finish up because of having to ship from the office to the lab and back again, and then repeat and rinse over and over until all the adjustments are right. They know how to take care of business here! We love Dr. Zaina!

LOL I chose them because thwy are close to my apartment and that when I called, the front desk said the cost of my visit would be taken care of by my insurance benefits, ,so I had nothing to worry about except copay. Well, fast forward a few weeks and I got a bill for $100 something for the cleaning after all... ........... But if you've got teeth pain or need a root canal, this is where you want to go. I had gone to Dr. Gorman over 10 years ago when I needed a root canal done on a tooth with a permanent crown. He was excellent then, and he's still that way. This time around, I've been having a real go-round with a new permanent bridge that was put in by my regular dentist (went this route rather than an implant after a crown came off with part of my tooth attached). I was experiencing excruciating pain on the entire side of my face where the bridge was placed. Nothing - and I mean nothing - alleviated the pain. I popped Advil like candy. I couldn't sleep. It got bad. Really bad. My regular dentist referred me to Dr. Gorman for assessment. Right away he explained why I was experiencing such intense pain and what I could do to "get things back to normal." A few adjustments on my bite and an anticipated timeline for the muscles on my jaw to heal were given. I did feel better . . . for a bit. Went back to my original dentist to have the bridge seated permanently with less pain, but pain nonetheless. I was referred back to Dr. Gorman again, who once more assessed the healing process and what needed to be done to get me back to a time when I was not having any pain at all. Dr. Gorman is such a kind, patient man. He's extremely professional with an excellent bedside manner. He explains everything in detail, converting to layman's terms when you don't quite get all of the medical lingo! He spends time with you. This is not an in-and-out dental visit. Dr. Gorman talks to you - the person - and takes care of business. He also has state-of-the-art equipment in his office so he's able to see exactly what's going on with your teeth. Office staff is excellent too. Call and you'll often be able to get a same-day appointment. The entire staff is so nice. Highly recommend Dr. Gorman and this practice if you're referred to an endodontist. Excellent, thorough care!
