Embarrassingly enough I do not prioritize dental care. I had been in years. Partly because I hadn't been in years. The dentist was always painful and scary. I had a really good experience with them. Do not go here they say you need a deep cleaning that cost 600.00 that insurance doesn't cover when you do not need it. They say you need fillings replaced and yet again do not need it. Went back to my dentist and no dental work needed nor a deep cleaning. It has become a thing with dentist these days saying you need a deep clean and not billing your insurance correctly making you pay the whole 600.00. BEWARE!! I've been going to this dentist for years but two years ago she started telling me and my husband that we needed several crowns each and some other dental work performed. My husband got 2 crowns and they didn't fit properly. When one cracked, he was charged for the visit, even though it had broken only a couple of days after having it installed. I went to another dentist for a second opinion after my husband got his crowns and that dentist said my teeth looked great. I only went back to Lakewood because I love the hygienist Paula and I felt sorry for the dentist because she had cancer. But the last few visits, my husband and I have both been charged for teeth cleanings, even though our insurance covers 100% for teeth cleaning, 3 times per year. We were told that there is now a Covid fee, or a fee for some special kind of cleaning (not covered by insurance). For what? And they charged me $56. When I asked why, they said I had some kind of special cleaning. No one asked for my permission to have anything special done. This place is dishonest and will charge you for dental services you either did not receive or need. I'm switching to the dentist many of my coworkers use (Heritage Dental). They get their teeth cleaned and don't have to pay a penny. One of my coworkers had a crown break in her mouth a year after getting the crown and she didn't pay anything to have it fixed. Yet Lakewood Dentistry charges to fix faulty workmanship only days later. Do yourself a favor; find another dentist. read more

I read another review that they overcharge, but I had a crown done and the cost is exactly what my insurance covered. Another dentist wanted $450 more to do the crown. On my first appointment, she recommended that I have my mouth reconstructed to "make my bite better" and gave me an estimate for over $40,000! This was my first time in their office! I was provided a written estimate and it showed my costs to be around $20,000. I later made an appointment to have only one crown. The previous estimate indicated the crown as $1,500. Based on the previous estimate, I figured I'd pay half that amount out of pocket. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told one porcelain crown would be $1,500 out of pocket because it wasn't covered by insurance. When I questioned the previous estimate, I was told it was incorrect and the amount listed for cost to the patient was wrong and they didn't know how to "fix that error" and it "always has an incorrect amount there". I was told I could talk to the dentist and maybe she'd give me a discount. As I continued to argue the costs, I was told they'd take 20% off, and I never talked to the dentist. My husband was patient there and he chipped his molar tooth and needed a crown. When my husband was in the chair getting treatment for a crown, he's stated the doctor and her assistant would talk about personal things he didn't care to hear. He felt she was rushed with his treatments for his crown. Weeks later, his permanent crown was placed and next thing you know it cracked in his mouth within a month. He had to go back to get it replaced and had to repay his lab fee which was about $250 for broken permanent crown. The practice should have waived the lab fee. After that experience, we went and got a second opinion about the crown and had to get it redone again. The new dentist had corrected her work. we had to pay the whole amount again because our PPO insurance will not cover it because it within 5 year customary fees for crowns. My husband stated the hygienist was very professional and did a great job cleaning his teeth. read more

Whatever you do DO NOT let Dr Farah touch your teeth if you need a root canal!! I paid for 3 that cost me over $3000 with my insurance. She messed up my teeth and when I went back to tell her they hurt and didn't feel good, she said they were fine! I went to an endodontist who had to do all three over and I had to pay there too but not as much as Dr Farah. In addition to her causing me more pain in my mouth and wallet, my bite is totally messed up because she shaved down my teeth really bad. I can't chew gum normally anymore and it's going to cost me a lot of money to get them fixed. DON'T GO NEAR THIS DR if you need anything special done!! Every girls worst fear of having something bad happen the day of engagement photos happened. My front tooth broke. It was my fault of past neglect but I didnt think it would happen the night before engagement photos. I called the emergency line in tears, asking for help and she made an appointment for me to come in Saturday the 20th even though her daughter just got in town for the holidays. She fixed my tooth and it was great she did it in less than an hour of course it was only me as a patient. She was seriously so great I down loaded yelp just to leave this. My friend recommend us to this DDS. We took our son here for consulted about brace. On the form what services we need to do to this visit we filled " brace consulted" but some how the office took my son to the inside and try to do the clean. Actually, they not to do clean they only washed my son mouse ( because the kid just did clean 2 week ago ). After washing the mouse of the kid they came out and charged $142 from my pocket and $42 from my ins. The Ins not paid all because the kid just clean 2 week ago. My personnel have try to call the office 3 times in three difference week to discuss about this matter but Dr. Zaina never call me back. This office may fixed for someone but not for me. read more

Dr. Farah has been our family dentist for many years now. Recently I needed to have two wisdom teeth extracted. it was a painless procedure. I was slightly sedated. I had a prescription for pain meds that I didn't even need to take. I didn't have any pain after the procedure. About two weeks later I needed to have a crown put. I had cracked one of my molars. She did the work and it looks beautiful. I have always been incredibly impressed with how professional she is and she's a wonderful dentist I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. read more

I went to this dentist when I first moved to Texas, about 4 years ago. I unfortunately had 2 of my top back molers break and went to her to have them fixed. I ended up with a root canal and 2 crowns. Now these being my first crowns and first root canal I had no idea what to expect. Well ever since I got the crowns anytime I chew on that side of my mouth I would feel a pinch. On top of that, my bite when I bit down was shifting. When I called them to ask why all this was happening they said it was all normal and I just needed time to get used to it. So I figured ok, the dentist knows best. 4 years later - Went to a different dentist to have my wisdom teeth pulled. Top left wisdom tooth I had extreme pain to the point my face was swelling so bad I couldn't wear my glasses. Upon review of the X-Ray, found out why...the oh so beautiful crowns Ms. Farah (and no I will not consider a doctor, but only a Ms.) had placed in my mouth were made incorrectly. The one I had all the way in the back, had a long curved hook that actually went into the space where my wisdom tooth should have grown in. Because the crown was too big and had a large hook on the back end, my wisdom tooth started growing into my crown. To get the wisdom tooth out, my current dentist had to completely shave the crown down. So now the crown that I paid $1500 for and was made incorrect, I am now left with a nub in the back of my mouth. Dentist's like Ms. Farah should not be allowed to be practice. Dentists have gotten to be absolute criminals, do shotty work, blame the patient or screw them over for their ignorance of dentistry. The amounts these people can charge is just absolutely ridiculous. Wish I never would have found her on google and had her anywhere near my mouth or money. Cause obviously she does not care about her patients just simply her thousands of dollars she is collecting on. read more

I love this dentist. I've had extremely negative experience with dentists in the past, so I looked and looked until I found Dr Zania. She is basically the only doctor my insurance covers that's not part of some crappy dentistry chain. She is so nice and very good at her job. I came here for cleanings and opted to do my wisdom teeth removal here because she is also a dental surgeon. The wisdom teeth removal cost much less than I'd been quoted previously, and she was REALLY fast. It was over in less than 15 minutes. By the time my family got settled in to wait, it was already over! I'm so sad that I can't come here any more because my work changed our insurance =( but anyone who can come here absolutely should. read more

It was a blessing finding this place, thanks to Yelp. I had the most horrible experience with my last dentist. It took this office 30 mins to give me an estimate & appointment to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed. I wasted 30 days, a swollen face, agonizing pain, and $250 on an ER visit trying to get my last dentist just to get me a pre-estimate ! It's been 9 hours since I got all four teeth removed and I feel great. I mean I'm a little sore but WOW! She did a great job, the procedure was pain free, the staff was friendly. They explained everything to me & my husband. He was able to even sit there to comfort me. I just can't explain how glad I am I found her. read more

Went in on an emergency basis for toothache. Was told there was not a problem with the tooth. I had a gum problem instead. Was charged nearly $500 for a 5 minute procedure. Pain never left, and I went to a new dentist when I got back to Midland. Was informed here that the tooth was cracked. After seeing 2 other dentist I was told that the tooth could not be saved and it was removed. All 3 dentist here said there was no gum problem and that I was terribly over charged by Lake Wood . I have always been afraid of going to the dentist because I always experienced pain there when I had work done. Going to the dentist is never easy especially when it's an emergency to have a bad molar pulled. Dr. Farah has a new loyal patient and I'm not under the influence of pain killers. :-) I chose Dr. Farah's office after calling 3 other dentists nearby. This office is just fantastic. Friendly, professional dentist and staff that explained everything and listened to my concerns. They make you feel like you are with friends instead of at the dentist. Seriously.
