In 2000, as a very healthy, 6 season college athlete, now PE Teacher, I began getting sinus infections, bladder infections, allergies out of control. I prayed for help, the Holy Spirit guided me to knowledge of my 9 X-Large amalgam fillings were causing metal poisoning. Symptoms of MS were appearing. My older sister 3 yrs, was diagnosed with MS 2000 & breast cancer in 2001, died in 2014. My older brother 2 yrs, was diagnosed with MS and currently can barely walk. I got tested BEFORE removing/replacing 9 silver fillings. ---- Dr. Glaros rem/repl 2 upper left molars in 2001, and they are still fantastic today 2015. BUT, due to his expense $200-300 higher, and I was facing 7 other replacements, I went to another dentist - who was negligent in reckless removal, did not tell me his cerec machine (to build in-house crown) was broken, rem. 5 fillings in one day with a temp. (Had I known his machine was broken I would only have done 2. Now 15 yrs later, I just found 3 holes in those 2 he did (I walked out on the other 3 and did not allow him to install them) have now caused so much decay and broke (which I signed a notice that porcelain can break, but I DID NOT KNOW they could allow holes for bacteria filling for decay, or I would have been getting x-rays every year.) Now I just don't have to get 2 new crowns, I am possibly losing a molar to decay, not enough left of the tooth to hold a crown, and the 2 adjacent crowns will be the bridge, and one with a root canal. Another $4,000. I thought once you get a crown, how can you get a cavity. Dentist need to explain this to patients so they can get x-rays annually to check for this. ******** There are 2 other L. lower molars than will need new crowns and hopefully no root canals because of decay. And another R. lower crown was made in the lab with too large of a 'crown' and it broke of 1/3 of the edge, the rest is still stable, but will need replacing and hopefully no decay. ******************** Dr. Glaros is expensive BUT WORTH IT. GOOD WORK IS NOT CHEAP, AND CHEAP WORK IS NOT GOOD! Invest your money in Dr. Glaros, you will not be sorry - please don't worry about the money, you pay for cable, your car repairs, your house remodeling/repairs new tires your teeth need to last you a lifetime - use your money and go to Dr. Glaros. I have gone to Dr. Glaros for over 4 years now for my cleanings and any dental work that is needed. I have had the experience of a full exam (x-rays and all), cleaning, Cereamic inlay and composit filling being placed by Dr. Glaros. I had the option of doing a composit filling or Ceramic inlay for an upper cuspid and I chose the inlay. The reason for my choice for a more expensive restoration (the inlay) is due to the fact that I want my restoration to be as strong or as close as it can get as my virgin teeth and to last as long as it can. No reason to have the same tooth worked on a few times over a lifetime if it can be done just once (fingers crossed). Really, if you think about it... it ends up being cheaper in the long run to do an inlay than having a composit done a few times over in a life span. The tooth I had the inlay placed on over 3 years ago I use quite a bit. I chew on that side all the time and have had a history of grinding my teeth (usually stress, and who doesn't have that... lol). Everytime I visit my VERY informative hygienist, she checks the work that Dr. Glaros has done in the past and any areas that were a concern to be watched from my initial exam and findings from coming regularly for my cleanings. That makes me feel at ease that they are so prepared to have my history of work that has been done and the care that they want it to last as long as I do. I feel as though Dr. Glaros and his staff has my best interests at heart and that is the reason why I will never see another dentist. Everytime I visit the office for a routine cleaning or have any dental work done, I leave knowing exactly what has been done, what needs to be done to improve my dental health and the only question I have before I leave is "When do I get to come back?" If you hadn't had the experience of Dr. Glaros and his staff, then you are Missing Out on the best dental experience I think anyone could ever experience. I am not exaggerating either. My visit/experience was apparently very different than the other reviewers... maybe the staff saw the reviews and stepped up their game. I found Dr. Glaros via a google search for a biological dentist who safely removes amalgam fillings. From start to finish, the whole staff (including Dr. Glaros) was super nice, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and (most importantly) performed the procedure with precision and safety. I had all of my amalgams removed at once (I had 3) and because of the swollen-ness of my gums, it was hard to check the alignment of the fillings. About a week later once the swelling had subsided, I could tell my alignment was off with one of the fillings. The staff was able to squeeze me in to re-align my teeth within a matter of days, which was important because it was causing me to have headaches (no charge for re-alignment). That was in October 2014, and I've not had any issues with my new fillings since. One other additional thing I'd like to point out about them being money hungry is that one of my amalgam fillings covered a large part of my tooth. Dr. Glaros suggested the optimal choice would be a crown ($1500), but that he could do a ceramic filling if finances were an issue. The only problem is that the ceramic filling would, obviously, not last as long as a crown, especially since the filling would be on the outer edges of the tooth and not just the center of the tooth. Well, this was the best option for me because I was prepared to spend $2-3,000, not $4-$5,000. He never pushed the crown option on me. I never felt a sense of "money hungry" from Dr. Glaros or his staff. In fact, I felt quite the opposite. read more

Dr. Glaros is a wonderful dentist. He removed all the mercury fillings from my teeth from work I had done years ago. It made such a difference. I feel so much better. I also had some root canals done years ago by another dentist that had really been bothering me. He repaired everything and I am very happy with the work that he has done. He also has taken care of my mother and she is very happy with the work as well. I dont understand the other persons comments. I believe the comment below made by Frank K. is unfounded. Yes, the procedures are expensive. Isnt most high quality work of any kind expensive? Usually you get what you pay for. I believe Dr. Glaros's work is of the highest quality. He is very concerned for the welfare of his patients. He is extemeley professional and he and his staff will give you a complex plan of care in order of what is most urgent along with all prices before proceding with anything. There are no surprises. You can decide based on your plan of care what you want to address. So, I really don't understand why the other reviewer wrote comments about the pricing. It is certain that he knew the prices well in advance, and was not forced into anything. I had written a review months ago and was surprise to see that it had somehow been removed of the yelp site. Dr. Glaros has been my dentist for over 35 years. (He even has the pictures to prove it). I wouldn't trust my teeth to anyone else. He has made my teeth look great even when I wasn't so nice to them. From putting a cap on my front tooth after I ran into a light pole; to pulling a couple of molars when I needed braces, he has always been a true professional. It is going to be a shame when he finally hangs up his mask to play more golf. I couldn't write something good about Dr. G without saying something about his staff. They are all very polite and always give the patient their full attention. So I don't give full names, I will abreviate the following. I am so happy that I found Dr. Glaros. His office is one of the few that understand and practices biological dentistry. Because of him I am mercury free and it has had such a positive effect on my health. He follows the protocols for extractions that understand and can resolve health issues in a cavitation from an improperly extracted tooth. His staff is caring, competent. If you are looking for a dentist that will preserve your health I highly recommend him. Please read the Un-recommended Reviews on Yelp that include comments without rating. They are 100% positive and provide a more balanced review than the two negative reviews that focus on cost. I would highly recommend Dr. Glaros. I am pretty unsure if "Frank" understands what "green" dentistry is from his commentary around money. I also think he does not have much business acumen as the technology used by Dr. Glaros as well as my dentist in the Nashville area is new and thus dentists choosing to use the latest safest technology are paying a premium for it. In no industry when you choose the latest and greatest can you expect similar pricing to old established technolgy. How much is the new iphone 5s? What do we pay for the next TaylorMade driver? Those that want the best and newest must expect to pay for it. Slamming a practitioner for telling a patient what this service costs in his/her office is ignorant and speaks more to the character of the commentator than the practice. I've learned a great deal from him as a biological dentist and know he genuinely cares about me and my overall health. My family and I have been going to Dr. Glaros since I can remember. Recently I was away on a business trip and I felt some pain so I decided to just go to a local dentist in Dallas. I walked out of that dentist in more pain than when I first went in. That is definitely one mistake I will never make again. I returned to Houston and they scheduled me in promptly to take care of it. He is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. His staff is very friendly and helpful and his office is absolutely gorgeous. After my not so wonderful experience in Dallas, I have come to the conclusion that Dr. Glaros is the ONLY dentist for me. My husband & I have been going here for years. We tried other biological dentist in Houston but are willing to drive 26 miles to Dr. Glaros. My Dr. recommended him. He used ozone treatments and saved me from a filling! Replaced 6 metal (mercury) fillings in the safest manner (I researched) at a comparable price. The office staff works around my schedule and I went for an emergency problem and got in that day. I like everyone at this place. Dr. Glaros is an amazing dentist whom I highly recommend to all my friends. I have been going to him for years because he's a perfectionist and I trust him with my terrible teeth. I went to him with a porcelain front tooth that didn't match my other front tooth. It was embarrassing and had turned a weird grey color. Dr. Glaros went out of his way to make sure the new tooth he made matched perfectly. I returned to get my mercury fillings removed. The "relaxing air" option is the way to go to make the drilling and filling a non-issue. Mercedes, his assistant, definitely was focused on my needs and comfort. I actually thought Dr. Glaros was going to add another filling near the gum line, but he thought I wouldn't need it if I continued to keep the area clean. My new fillings look and feel great.
