I will give this company 0 stars. The customer service for this company is really slick. They promise you the moon and stars. But when their technician..comes to your home to assess the job, they hand the phone over to a supervisor that wants to increase the set rate that was given to me. And on top of it make it a joke that I have an issue in my home. And I needed this to be taken care of but telling me it will take them till Wednesday to come. And try to charge me an exorbitant amount of money ...stay away from this company. They have no heart and don't care about your property. And the family that lives with you. I had to take matters in my own hands. And get a honest, exterminator come to my home with a fair price and took care of the situation in my home..... Around two weeks ago, I contacted the service number for Orkin Pest Control, which reached their headquarter call desk. They then asked me about the issue I was having (wasp concern, few coming in a day, wanted someone to inspect, which is free, or so they claim). In the event that full-service pest-control was determined to be required upon full inspection, I agreed to a price of $392.32 plus tax and added warranty through the end of this year making the pre-authorized total $432.42 if they were to provide the full suite of removal/extermination services (because remember the inspection is "free"). The call desk rep ensured that this is merely a pre-authorization for the maximum cost of pest removal services, should the severity of the issue during the inspection require the full host of services. The cost of services performed on that day would be determined then and the payment would reflect the scope of work provided. The inspection: Their specialist not only came 45 minutes before their arrival window, when I missed their call because I was outside walking my dogs, saw that I had two missed calls and a notification saying my service had been CANCELLED... luckily I only missed the call by 2 minutes and was able to catch the specialist, but the fact that I could have lost the appointment all together due to poor timing on their part was pretty telling. The inspection itself was fine, the inspector found 2 inactive hives in our attic that were in such precarious places, they could not be physically removed. They were sprayed down with a few spritzes of their insectiside and dusted - took all of 5 minutes, and the total visit with inspection took no longer than 30 minutes; which he himself described as an "ad-hoc job". When finished, I asked the specialist how much I'd be charged and he said the order was put in for the full amount ($432.42), and that's what I'd be charged... He wasn't the person to quote me that or have the context but I explained that I was only to be charged for the services provided... and it seems I was charged for the full service, which this was not... Sent him on his way and called Orkin's number to take it up with them as the rep I spoke to when scheduling the inspection assured me that I would only be charged for the services provided as I was not sure I needed the full sweep of services for such an insignificant issue (2 inactive hives, a few spritzes of spray with no physical removal of either hive). . Lo and behold, I was told that I would have to pay the full $432 for a few sprays out of an aerosol can and some dust... which took the specialist all of 5 minutes to do. The disparity between the services provided for the price charged was preposterous. They immediately offered a $50 discount, which was unsatisfactory to say the least (if anything, that should have been the price for their service today) that would mean I'd be paying $382 for a few pumps of spray and dust... I then asked to speak to that person's manager and asked for a price breakdown of the services I am paying for... the manager of the Elmsford branch asks me how long the specialist was at my house (no more than 30 minutes) tells me the cost includes the inspection as well as the removal of the two inactive hives and the sprays..... You mean the inspection that was ADVERTISED AS FREE everywhere on your website and google, etc?! Essentially I was being asked to pay close to $400 for 5 minutes of spraying with NO REMOVAL of any sort. I eventually told her that the specialist that came to my house told me personally that had I contacted the local branch, I would've been able to secure a significant discount and that I couldn't because I called the main number (call center) listed on google, which then led her to discount the price further, on the condition that the warranty be voided. I agreed as I no longer can trust the integrity of their work or business policies. To make matters worse, I continue to have MORE WASPS than ever entering my home and have had to call a secondary pest-control company to take care of the issue properly. Needed to share the horrendously, shady business practices of this company. They're headquartered in Georgia, and their call center reps are not relaying proper and accurate information for when they send service orders to their local branches. BEWARE: they price gauge and operate on shady, non-transparent, and unethical business practices. read more

If I could give negative star rating I would. You would think this would be an easy thing. You set up a contract, exterminators come and spray while you're at work. For 7 years I have had a contract and kept wondering why I have ants in my backyard. I don't grill and I definitely don't eat outside. So I checked my security cameras and saw that Christian my technician only sprayed the front yet I got charged my full contact price for front and back of property. I called and they told me that he was scared my dog was in the back yard. Hello? The video shows my dog looking at him from INSIDE the front window. So I call back again and have them explain themselves and reschedule for him to come back. He shows up an hour and thirty minutes late and I watch him walk by the ants on the walkway and he sprays only the deck and leaves. Not only have I been ripped off for 7 years but the technician Christian can't even tell the truth and Angie the Branch Manager doesn't have the courtesy to call me back and apologize when I was told she would call me back within 48 hours. I am now taking legal action against them for 50% of the services that I never received. I would only suggest to use Orkin if you have done bad things in your life and you want to feel ripped off and lied to by stupid people as penance. read more

ive had Orkin for a few years and I've never been disappointed they've always delivered when they were supposed to. a couple of missed alerts of when the service was scheduled better far as the actual work the technicians were amazing and very professional. asked question about our problems, did a thorough inspection located more issues addressed them also treated for other pest to as of a preventative measure. I was very happy with there service and I still have all issued addressed if anything happens. with for free if I call back. They're very good!! Thank you Orkin!!!! read more

I booked an appointment on Monday, the earliest appointment they could give me was Friday. I received several text messages and emails confirming the appointment. I called on Thursday to confirm the credit card I used. The man who I spoke to said that the call center is constantly under quoting the service and that I will be aprox. $3,200 not $460 as I was told. I asked him when they planned to tell me this since I called him about my card. He replied probably tomorrow morning when the serviceman arrives. I would give them less than one star if I could. Do NOT work with Orkin Elmsford. Their call center overpromises and their local offices underdelivers. This establishment operates what I think is a bait and switch. The person sent to inspect was not observant, we had to point out everything. He lacked a sense of urgency and kept saying he needed to wait for approval although we booked Orkin for these tasks. When I called the support team, they were missing all of the notes left by a woman named "Maria" who sounded knowledgeable and told me about a treatment plan that could cover 15 pests (we called in for bees/yellowjackets) and she assured us this was protected. As soon as the inspector came, he said the issue required additional services. We called customer service, and they were able to quickly find the notes and mentioned it was improperly logged. Once they confirmed the job, we had to wait another 30+ minutes for the inspector to confirm with his local office. He seemed liked he didn't want to do the job at all and was trying to run the clock. Customer service was shocked he was doing nothing. When speaking with the local office, they refused to do what the call center confirmed would happen. We wasted almost 2 hours, and nothing was done. I asked the local office why the call center would confirm services and Orkin Elmsford would refuse. I was told the call center is nationwide and not local which I understood but stressed to them that they should have noted that in my call. I asked why both Orkin corporate and Orkin Elmsford aren't communicating with each other, they seem reluctant to engage. I had the call on speakerphone so the inspector could hear them confirm they misrepresented the services promised. Orkin is a fraudulent business. Orkin and Orkin Elmsford are running a scam. This company is a fraud. They charge for unwarranted services and provide them with the most unsatisfactory installations. Twice I have been swindled by them and charged, They installed a defective celling in my attic that was coming down not two weeks after. I sent numerous emails to fix it and they never didd a did to accommodate their poor work. I canceled their service three times as they ket charging me for monthly work. Finally they came onto my property and tried to sell me another service. I did not agree to any service and still installed it (came on my property without anyone home or present) and destroyed my garden beds and lawn to install termite traps. Not only have there still be termites but most of all the traps are broken or were installed crooked and above ground. This is not a company you should use for a good service. They exists to up charge and get away with poor work. I will be pursuing damages via the Westchester consumer board and I recommend all look into their service and history and see the truth of their work. I have tried over and over again to give this company the benefit of the doubt. The supposedly send the technician. The technician will say I am not home. I have cameras so I don't see how you came and serviced my home when I never see you on camera. One time they said they serviced my attic. Wow!!! How? I enlisted Orkin's pest control services about two years ago, and did the contract wherein they come out as frequently as needed (at least that's how they sell it - not quite so). Despite their promise to eliminate the problem, they were never successful in doing so. However, that is not my biggest problem with them. My problem is the fact that they are completely unresponsive to their customers. A technician will come out and treat, and tell you they're scheduling another treatment in two weeks, and in two weeks no one appears. When you call and leave messages at the Elsmford office, it literally takes at least three messages before someone calls you back! It's incredibly infuriating to pay for a service and not get what you bargained for. The last straw was when the Senior Account Manager, Daniel Quainoo came out to my property over two months ago! He suggested another service offered by Orkin wherein they will come out assess the premises and and seal off any point of entries in an effort to eliminate the problem. I told him I absolutely wanted to do it, as I was frustrated that the problem still existed after approximately two years (why I didn't cancel my contract with them I don't know)! He promised that someone would get back to me from the office to make an appointment. NOBODY DID! I followed up a week later, he seemed surprised nobody had gotten back to me and said he would call the office and have the appropriate party get in contact. Again, NOBODY CALLED ME! This past Friday (7/10, which is almost 2 months after he initially came out to my home), I called Mr. Quainoo yet again and told him no one ever got back to me. He quickly told me he would call the office and then call me back! HE NEVER DID! So later that night I texted and I told him thanks for calling me back (sarcasm), and that I will be cancelling my service effective immediately. Immediately thereafter I called Orkin's Elmsford office and left a voicemail (because they NEVER answer the phone), expressed my dissatisfaction with the level of service I had received and told them I wish to cancel my service immediately. I also requested a call back. Still, 4 days later and no one has called me back. Imagine my surprise though to find that they charged my credit card for the quarterly payment on Sunday (two days after I cancelled), notwithstanding the fact that they have not provided any services in over three months. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! Save your money and go elsewhere!!!! P.S. - I want to make clear that the technicians who have come out to my property are great (Kevin and I think Eric), in the sense that they were pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. It's the management and folks in the office who are completely incompetent. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone and they don't return phone calls. Horrible customer service! I called these guys after freaking out about a minor issue. Like another reviewer said, the things the technicians come out to do are quick DIY fixes that anyone with dexterity, average vision, and common sense can do and definitely not worth the exorbitant amount they charge for their services. I can go to BJ's and get a bunch of snap traps and Slim Jim's too and save about $300. The technician that they sent out was down to earth and chill, but the customer service of the reps who answer the phones, as well the the supposed supervisor at this location, are nightmares! Horrible customer service. It's no wonder the customer service of the reps are horrible if the supervisor's attitude is in the toilet. Save your dollars and do it yourself if you can. read more

And when I call their office to discuss the issue I am always told that only the "manager" can help me and the manager is never there and never returns my phone calls. Basically the worst company I've done business with that I can remember. Called to get service due to an ant problem. The corporate sales guys were very specific about the service and costs. They were going to do a home inspection, guard against all pests, perimeter barrier etc... Guy shows up 4 hours late, doesn't speak much English, spends a few minutes walking around the downstairs, doesn't even look in our kitchen, which has ants. Tells me someone else will show up later, nobody does - charges me about 500 bucks. Call the corporate line, say they'll make it right, nobody calls back. Call again, straight to voice mail, nobody calls back. Call corporate, get the cancellation line, they tell me they can't do anything and sends me back to the local office, nobody calls back again. Weeks go by, start getting texts about upcoming service. Call again, say I want to cancel and don't want them to come... corporate sends me to the local office and straight to voicemail again and nobody calls back. I've called, emailed, created an account to message them. No response, just keep getting sent back to the non-responsive local office. Was initially willing to work it out with them but after getting the run around and having person after person tell me there is nothing they can do I'm disputing the charges due to work not being done as agreed to. Can't believe a company can hold onto your cc information like this, not do work, keep billing you. Highly recommend staying away from these guys, maybe they are better in other areas. read more

We had an ant problem in our kitchen. We had the first service. Absolutely no change at all. We called , there was a no show. Then they sent the same guy out . No change again. Then after that trying to get hold of them was a friggin nightmare. Horrible customer service. Then they tried to tell us out warranty was no longer valid. Even tho the problem has NEVER been fixed. And even tho on the message holding they tell you"were not happy until you're happy "!!!! And also there is a supposed money back guarantee ! When we first called they showed up promptly. The termite inspector was thorough and knowledgeable. When the technician showed up to treat the problem, he too was thorough and knowledgeable. It was bait and hook and I'm not talking about for the termites either! After that it was NO SHOW after NO SHOW! Not a courtesy call, not an apology, not NOTHING! Oh wait, I'm sorry, they did offer a free mosquito spray of the yard and when we tried to schedule another one it was a NO SHOW, NO CALL... once A G A I N! Horrible customer service! I can't believe this company charges what they do and treats customers so poorly. I had some wasps in my house and was able to get someone out here quickly. The man who came was friendly and found some nests. Part of my package was they'd come back again within 30 days so a week or so later I find what I think is another nest. It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. When I finally did I made an appointment only to have a no show. No call or anything. I called and the person said they'd tell customer service and someone would call me. I didn't even get an apology. Well, no one called from customer service. I kept calling but it's impossible to get people on the phone. The person I finally got said there was no record that I called about my cancellation. This company is a joke and lacks basic customer service. I finally got another guy out but it was clear he didn't even read the report on why they were here in the first place. For the price Orkin charges, $1000 a year, I am disappointed. Yes, they to send over a technician who can check for bugs and vermin, but once you educate yourself, that is an easy DIY job. Also, you can buy pesticides from the Home Depot for $15 or less and mouse traps are also cheap. You also need to be home or otherwise arrange access for the technician, which is a hassle when he may not show up. I'd say the service is not horrible, but definately not worth what Orkin charges, just for a guy to come 4 times a year, spray for bugs and swap out a few mouse traps. read more
