He is one of the nicest people I have ever met and reassured me that everything he was spraying was safe for our dogs and children. I had a mice issue - we found droppings all over the shelves, and have even trapped 3 on our own. It was time to call in the experts. I got a call back from Frank at 1A Pest Control within a couple of hours, and he was able to come the same day to set up traps, sealed up entryways, and put bait out so they don't re-enter our home. I've definitely noticed less activity since then, but every now and then, there might still be some clicking inside kitchen cabinets. I am waiting for the bait to do their job and see what happens. Frank was courteous, super professional and knew exactly what to look for, where to go, and sealed up everything. The ONLY reason I knocked off a star was because he kind of left my house in a mess. He moved furniture out of the way to lay down the traps & bait, but he didn't move things back to how he found it. He's an exterminator, not a furniture mover, I get it. ;) Overall, I would still highly recommend 1A Pest Control and their services if you have a rodent problem, and I will continue to count on them to help me get rid of pests. The gentlemen at 1A Pest Control were a pleasure to deal with. Their communication was excellent. My first phone call was answered and from that point on we stayed in contact through texts and calls over my two weeks of service. With a husky and a long-haired cat, we developed a flea problem in our home. 1A Pest Control came to review the problem immediately, and they setup the first treatment for the following day. We noticed significant improvement right away. Fleas require two separate treatments two weeks apart, and 1A was right on time with the second one. Since the second treatment, we haven't found a single flea, so we're very happy with the outcome. 1A is very professional, responsive, and fair. I left NYC during the beginning of covid and when I returned 3 months later I had a full blown roach infestation. My building has an exterminator come once a month but whatever he sprayed didn't help. I tried bombs and foggers, all type of traps but they weren't dying. They were multiplying! I called 1A on a Monday and I believe they came out either the Tuesday or Wednesday. He put poison everywhere and promised that I would see roaches everywhere the next day but they would look drunk and then I would never see them again and he didn't lie! The day after the extermination visit there were wobbling or dead roaches everywhere. I cleaned them up and as promised I haven't seen a roach since. This was in November! Frank has followed up several times since and was the sweetest guest in my home. He even swept from behind my refrigerator and stove because I was too scared to. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would! Prices were super affordable, the customer service is phenomenal and he was in and out my home in about an hour and a half. If you've dealt with roaches before you know how tricky it can be to keep them GONE. These guys are pro's!! read more

Do your research. Do not fall for scams. I called 1A pest control with a field mice situation in a 750 sq area. A very charismatic gentleman named Frank responded advising me he would be arrive to review the area and provide a quote. He arrived the next day 40 minutes late. Enthusiastically he said he was sent by God to resolve the issue. 2 hours later at the rate of $175 per hour fee for what I was later advised by a reputable exterminator company that A1 had only used a $5 bag of steel wool , $3 worth of 4 of mice traps and 4 mice poison or mice "cotton candy " as Frank called it. Frank advised me I had to quick pay him the $350.00 charge and no receipt was provided. When I called to request a receipt and advised Frank the situation did not improve at all, I was told "oh I ll stop by again and then I ll provide you with a receipt for my services". Not only did that never happen , there was also no follow up whatsoever. I called another exterminator company that was extremely efficient with completely different standard of service that was not only much more detailed and charged me less than $350 fee and also provided a detailed receipt for services. Do your research and call different companies make sure that you are working with actual professionals in extermination services. read more

This was my first time dealing with a mouse problem, living alone in NYC, I was terrified! I requested quotes and 1A Pest Control quickly responded. I explained my situation over the phone and they explained how they could help me and we scheduled the appointment despite having no reviews I decided to give it a chance. Frank was punctual and very knowledgeable about this issue. He went over all the possible entrances for the mice and covered them and left some traps. I had a great experience with Frank at 1A Pest Control. I had a mice problem in my house and Frank really went above and beyond to eradicate the existing problem and, most importantly, PREVENT them from coming back. Frank surveyed the entire perimeter of the house, showed me a couple holes they burrowed on the lawn, and quickly identified two potential trouble spots (the dryer vent) and the third floor AC pipe where he thought they might be getting into the house. Then Frank got up in the third floor crawl space and confirmed that yes, that's indeed where the mice were coming in. Frank also replaced the bait in my existing mousetraps (the previous exterminator had placed cheap bait that was not doing anything to attract the mice) and temporarily blocked an entry path on the outside of the house (I then had my handyman patch it up permanently). I was ready to write off exterminators as a waste of money. The last guy I had did very little to solve the root cause of the problem and seemed much more interested in getting on a schedule where he came back every three months (at considerable expense to me). Frank may have charged a touch more for his services, but he identified the root cause of the problem, and the mice problem has quickly gone away. HIGHLY recommended. read more

I would give Frank and 1A Pest Control the highest possible recommendation. Frank is extremely thorough, professional, most effective, volunteered a follow up visit free of charge, and even found a wonderful handyman /contractor to come next morning to take care of structural holes in our garage since my handyman was out of town and it was urgent we get a contractor ASAP. I am not quick to leave reviews which is why I waited for a month before leaving this review (I wanted first to see the problem resolving which it did big time). If interested in all the details, this is how it all happened: We have 2 cats and we never saw any mice inside the house , so we were surprised when heard scratching noises from the attic. I hired Frank based on the positive Yelp reviews. Frank arrived on time wearing masks and gloves. He quickly identified all the entry points: the garage door and garage walls had several small holes which the mice used to enter. From the garage they travelled into the interior of the walls and into the attic. There was another entry point under the sink and a couple more around the house. We never saw mice ourselves because our cats probably scared them but they infested the walls and attic instead. Frank first said we need to seal all the holes. He sealed himself the small holes using copper wiring but I needed to hire a contractor to seal the holes in my garage. My handyman was out of town so I asked Frank if he has anyone he could recommend. He didn't just recommend people but took it upon himself to make sure they can come next day. He called two people who were too busy but after spending half an hour on the phone he found a high quality person who came the next morning. This person turned out to be amazing and I ended up hiring him for several days to take care of a bunch of things we needed to fix. Frank put baits around the house (high weight-high quality baits for exterior use.) Then he put baits inside the house that are pet-safe (our cats had no issues with them... it has been about 5 weeks since). He also crawled into our infested attic and put poison there. The baits that he uses dry out the mice and are high quality so had no issues with anything smelling. I keep my house very clean and I haven't experienced anything negative with them 5 weeks now later. At the same time our mice problem has been resolved! Frank volunteered to come for a visit today to check on the baits and yes indeed we are doing great! No signs of mice inside our house which is such a relief. The mice only ate the poison outside. When I asked how much to pay him for the follow up visit he didn't take any payment.... what a true gem of a gentleman. I used to analyze companies for a living and Frank's company has all the prerequisites for excellence. Wishing Frank all the luck in the world. He is so kind, professional and hard working.
