Subcontractors who work for Orkin are terrible!!! Came to our house to do a job and left within 5 minutes of arrival because of a miscommunication about the gas company and did not bother to call the Orkin manager to straighten it out! They let our house untented for 2 extra days, costing us hundreds of extra dollars for hotel and pet boarding!!! This service is horrible!!! read more

I should've read the reviews before signing up for pest control with Orkin. The first service went well, the technician was friendly and on time. However for the next service, no one showed or called. I called and a new appointment was scheduled. This happened THREE times in a row and each time no one showed nor called. I canceled after that. I switched from a local vendor to a national brand expecting more, but sadly it was the complete opposite. We have a rodent in the attic, and dealing with a roach issue at the moment. We have had them come by at least 4 times and the roach issue has gotten worse while the rodent is still having a party in the attic nightly. On top of that, everytime we schedule an appointment, they keep rescheduling to a later time or different day without anyone reaching out to us to see if that time and date works. My wife and I both work and this causes a lot of issues. I called twice asking for a manager who seems to be never available and we have yet to get a call back a week later. Stay away! They are by far have the worst customer services skills and lack professionalism. There were several times where appointments scheduled and they no showed with no notice. They don't answer the phones and the service they provide is horrible! I'm still seeing pest after months of service and I've called to schedule for them to return and they don't answer their office phone! They also left equipment at my home in reach of my toddler! I would never recommend this company to anybody. I called them because I'm having a sleep problem and I set up the appointment they were supposed to come the day after between four and six.I own a restaurant so I actually closed a little bit early so I could be at the property for the time of inspection. I never got a phone call nor did they show up. The next day I called and asked them why a technician never called me or showed up they could not give me an answer. I then set an appointment for that day for them to come out and here I am two hours past my appointment yet no call no show if they can't even keep an appointment what makes me think that they would ever come out if I have a problem again after I pay for their services not good, read more

First, a disclaimer- this was the only Orkin location I could find nearby. Our house is in Cooper City, so not sure the issue is with Hallandale office specifically. Long story as short as possible... First 2 visits went well, and we really liked our technician!! Everything went downhill this past Saturday. We had a slot of 10-noon for our service. We had plans after, so my husband called at 11am to double check the appointment was still on. We were reassured it was. Noon comes and goes and we call again. Technician is 'on his way'. We waited until 12:45 and NEVER HEARD BACK FROM ORKIN the rest of the day. We called today to see what happened, and when we could book again ASAP. The agent on the phone was not helpful, and said she could not see in her system our no call, no show appointment for Saturday as it was the previous month. Really? You can't see your calendar from 3 days ago? We also pointed out that we were wrongfully charged $84 in June for a supposed appointment servicing the inside of the house.. when we were OUT of the country!! So, now you're charging for services that didn't happen. Not happy. Service cancelled. read more

Orkin Broward county - Took them 2 months after inspection to actually schedule a termite treatment although there were active termites on the property, new residue appearing daily, & swarming every night. When you call the office, often you get a recording asking that you leave a message, no one EVER calls back. The staff, when they do answer the phone, tend at times to be rude and impatient. They finally scheduled the tenting after multiple persistent phone calls from me and my insistence that they do so. I was told it would be done on a Friday. When mid day rolled around and still no tent, I was lied to by the office staff and told it would be up by 6:00 PM. The tent was NEVER PUT UP. Multiple calls to the 'emergency' number were never returned. Finally through some ingenuity of my own I managed to find out that it had been rescheduled for the following day. NO ONE EVER BOTHERED TO TELL ME! I will give credit where it is due. The gentleman in charge who actually managed the procedure was polite and professional. But the lack of communication and the stress the whole experience caused me, along with the complete lack of concern for the customer are in excusable. My impression is that, since we had been paying yearly for a guarantee, they had our money and were in no hurry to take care of us, as we were not new business. This is the closest location I could find as I live in Hollywood beach. By far one of the worst at home services I've ever had. First, I live in a brand new house that was built just a few weeks ago. The tec decided to park half his van on my new lawn, driving over two sprinkler heads. He also decided to walk through my new home, inc the carpet where my son crawls with his dirty boots. After a quick spot spray, he supposedly took care of my issues and left. Two days later, all the same bug problems but even worse. After a follow up via text I expressed my dissatisfaction and was assured this was not normal and was asked to call back on Monday. After leaving two messages through the week it took an additional week to hear back. Told to be home for a tec on Friday morning, which I took off work.... what do you know they didn't show or call. I was able to get my money back and canceled my contact. I will be letting everyone in my community (500) homes to not do business with the company. These people are dishonest. I caught them on the security cameras cutting corners when they would come for regular pest control service. When I tried to cancel my contract, they found my credit card number from a separate termite contract and started charging it without my authorization. Just awful. House tented on Wednesday. Sales rep, Zaida, and lead tech both said tent will be removed on Friday, windows opened, and we'd be notified of time when safe to reenter. Tent was taken down on Friday, but WARNING: DO NOT ENTER signs on every door to the house. Calls on Friday unanswered, as are calls this morning. (Saturday). The Orkin Broward voice mailbox is full and receiving no new messages. Spoke with the corporate switchboard 1 1/2 hours ago, but no response yet. This is incredibly thoughtless and unprofessional. At this point, there's no telling when we'll get into the house and how many more hotel nights we'll spend waiting for Orkin to do their friggin' job. The pest control field is crowded. In South Florida, look elsewhere. My next note is to the Better Business Bureau, then the State of Florida. read more
