I have had routine service with Orkin for almost 5 years, and over the past year their service has gotten worse and worse. They routinely do not meet their service window time, with zero communication. Once the service came 4 hours late, other times they cancelled because the technician was not available but never called and I only found out when I contacted asking about an updated time for arrival. TLDR: DO NOT USE ORKIN. EVER. I found some mouse droppings in the lower living room of my house. I called a local pest control company that day, and they weren't able to come by for a few days. I figured I would try Orkin as it's a very well known name for pest control. The lady was extremely friendly when and said they could get someone out same day to take care of my problem. I simply had to sign up for a monthly service and then pay around $370 for the visit and they could "guarantee they would get the mouse problem solved." So, a gentleman showed up later that day and proceeded to walk around my house with a flashlight and place sticky traps in 5-6 place, without even telling me where they were... I had to have him show me after the fact (some were in garage) ... *Side note* -- those sticky traps are quite inhumane, and I did not enjoy having to then kill the mice that were stuck on them (Orkin don't come by and dispose of them). He then told me they were going to have another guy come by and do a deeper dive so they could get the problem solved... He proceeded to knock a solitary cobweb down from the front porch and he left... Quite a useless fella if we are being honest. The next guy came by the following day, and he spent a solid 1-1.5 hours in the attic and crawlspace, and walking around the house poking about. Eventually he asked me to sit down and go over the quote... At this point I was somewhat confused having already spent $375 bucks, but I followed his lead. The quote: $28,500 I laughed, he laughed, we laughed together for a few minutes. Eventually he proposed that they could remove multiple services/items and do it for a measily 18k... We both shared another laugh and he went on his way. I obviously chose not to use their service, although I was over $370 out of pocket. I also forgot to cancel the monthly service and another gentleman came by a few weeks later and spent maybe 10 minutes or so at my house walking around outside. I have no idea what he actually did but he didn't go in the back yard or anything and I didn't see any broom to cobweb action. I canceled the monthly contract and asked if they would waive the $55 given, I already paid over $370 for essentially nothing but a quote, and they would not waive a dollar. I was not planning on reviewing them, but this kind of business practice is shady, and I want to warn anyone against using them, especially for rodent/pest control, as you will likely need to take out a second mortgage to afford it. Moral of the story... Get some clear caulk sealant and fill any cracks (even tiny ones) you may have around your house inside and out. Get some traps and put some peanut butter on them (preferably kill traps as they are more humane and easier to dispose the mice). Do not leave crumbs ANYWHERE. Or, give Orkin $375 bucks and sign up for a monthly plan so they can tell you it's going to cost you nearly $30k to fix the problem, and then share a laugh with them and send them on their way. read more

This is a weird situation but it all happened around Christmas. I moved into a new place, and started to notice bugs. So I called Orkin. They set me up with a new contract December 2025. It turns out my landlord was paying Orkin and set them up earlier in the year August 2025. I'm a single mom, who doesn't have a lot of money. I found out the issue, that we have the same service for the same address. They charged me $188 to get started with the service, but after I called and explained the situation. I requested a refund, and even said on their web-site 30 day money back guarantee. They would not issue a refund. They did cancel the contract. I have talked to at least 3 or 4 people including managers. But they stated, they did the first service on my contract therefore I get charged. I just feel like when I set up the service, there should be away to check and make sure service is not already set up. I feel this was fraudulent because they did not catch the mistake. I noticed they were coming every week, instead every couple weeks. And bam this mess started. It's been frustrating, and although I should asked my landlord. But I really didn't know that landlords took care of pest control. And Orkin never asked me any additional information. Just signed me up on a new contract. I got several quotes and they were the highest. They seem to want to sell you a year round contract. I can't speak to their service, so maybe it is worth the price, but we went with another provider. I canceled their termite service a year ago and the manager picked up the traps himself. I don't work with them anymore bc the techs claim to do a complete check but they couldn't bc my gate was locked. Now a year later they have tried to enter my yard three times in a month. Never offered an ETA, then went on to say, we'll if your not having any major issues inside I can spot Treat. Or I can do full treatment outside to create a barrier. I have never worked with a company with this terrible of customer service and employees. They are so unhelpful that I might as well. Just put up a craigslist ad to get what I want done. I was told that the customer service is so bad because they "are a large company and have a lot of customers." DUH! I'm one of them! We called and scheduled service for a Saturday. No one showed on the day of service so we called the local Terre Haute office. The lady was extremely rude and told me their office changed our appointment without calling us to a Thursday over a week from our original appointment because that was more convenient for them. She refused to help in any way and didn't care that we'd rearranged our schedules to be home the day of our scheduled appointment. We will never use their company. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called the call line to schedule an appointment for an earwig issue at my home. I was pushed towards a one-year agreement which didn't seem unreasonable considering the issue I had previously with earwigs and was given a price. I told them I wanted to pay it all up front and was told that each local office gives different discounts for payment in full and that I would have to get the price from my service tech, but I was told it would be no more than a certain amount. The technician came out and told me that he had nothing to do with billing and instead I would have to call his office to make those arrangements. It was a minor annoyance, but understandable so I called to set up my one-time payment. The price I was quoted was far in excess of the original number and I told them I was quoted much less on the call line. I was told I would have to speak with a manager to settle that, and that one would call me back, hopefully within the hour, but definitely before the end of the day. I never got that call back, so I called the next day and went through the entire process again, this time being put on hold to speak with a manager. I was on hold for 20 minutes to finally reach someone who told me they would not be able to honor the price I was quoted, but that they would look into why I was given such a low number. The decision was made at that point for me to move to a single treatment and not be on an annual plan. Still not the best outcome, but at least I was making progress in getting automatic payments shut off from my card. I was also told then to schedule my 2 week follow up which was included in the price of the original treatment. The manager set up my follow up and I told him I would have to make arrangements to be there for it because I was supposed to be out of town that day, but I wanted to get it taken care of. You can probably guess that no one showed up today for that two week follow up. I called again and spoke with a different manager who informed me that, he reviewed the notes and was able to find where I was told I had an appointment today by a different manager, but that was never scheduled and they would not be coming out. Again, this is all the work of the managers, who you would hope are a little more on the ball than your average customer service representative. On top of all of that, I really needed the service today because I continue to have a problem with earwigs (in fact I have killed over 30 in the last two weeks). I am killing quite a few of them but am yet to find a single dead one from the first treatment. Poor customer service all around and they clearly don't care about honoring their promise of guaranteed satisfaction. I will now be trying to find a different service provider in my area, hopefully one that shows up when they say they will be there and honors the prices they quote over the phone. read more

We contacted Orkin to assist with a possible spider issue. The person we spoke with said we would need to sign up for an annual program. Then he revealed there was a less expensive program available that he had not previously disclosed. Then he said he does not have an ability to send a quote for review. The strong sales component was a turnoff, so we did not move forward. read more

Our daughter came home for a visit and saw a spider in the shower. She took a picture of it and we found out that it was a brown recluse spider. I called Orkin for help. They sent out a gentleman named Elijah. Elijah would call to give us a heads up that he's on the way. When he arrived, he introduced himself self and we got straight to the issue. He was professional, polite, and he paid attention to detail. These are the kind of employees companies need to continue keeping customers happy and sending in great reviews. Good job! read more

They were coming around door by door. Said they could add me onto another job and it's was somewhere around 40 bucks to spray that day and they would schedule to come do a complete spray and do more around the house. They never finished that day and had scheduling issues so I canceled within the grace period. I called and spoke to them. Months later here it is September they came sprayed outside and charged me 299. I called them to tell them I had already canceled and they said no I didn't. Gave me 10 different stories. Guy named Andrew kept hanging up the phone on me. The canceling agent now said its 199 to cancel. They also claimed that they were to come out in august to spray but had scheduling issues. They are frauds and will still your money. ​still have all sorts of bugs. read more

They are professional the employees are very nice., but the product is not good for roaches maybe for spiders bugs but not for roaches! I have the service for a whole year and the roaches never, never disappear! One entire year they can't control they can't exterminate the roaches. read more

He found openings that were missed and openings that were not even mentioned previously and of course they want over a couple thousand more to do what they should've done in the first place. i purchased Dryzone, termite and deck maintenance from Orkin at a hefty price tag that includes annual inspections. this is the second time I have scheduled the inspection with Orkin and they did not show up. I traveled 90 minutes this morning to be at my lake house for the scheduled between 10 - noon inspection. at 12:30 I call the Orkin office and they did not have it scheduled. really poor customer service. btw, I now use Rough River Pest control and they actually notify me when they are on their way, show up when they say they will and check and treat the inside of my house! so first thing, i called because I had some bugs i needed rid of in my basement. that was 3 months ago and the problem persists...I signed up for the year plan because I thought they'd come out and do other things other than spraying for the original issue. I have been charged every month for them to come back to only tackle the original issue only in my basement. what's the point of paying for the year long plan? I had a HUGE ant infestation that happened almost overnight, hundreds of them marching in my kitchen, bathroom and laundry room! These guys came out, treated with stuff that would NOT make me or my dogs sick, in the locations I requested (not the standard stuff, but crawl space!). They had wonderful service skills and people skills. Were extremely polite with excellent follow-up. Not only that, but they went above and beyond in terms of ensuring that my problem was resolved. I would definitely use them again! FYI - when I called, the owner was good enough to share with me the chemical compound, because I wanted to do my own research to ensure pet safety. Had signed up for Orkin service for one year. Went to Texas to spend winter as we usually do. When we came back to our home there was mouse feces everywhere. Had it professionally cleaned. Still kept finding mouse droppings here and there. Ask Orkin technician if Orkin was going to pay for the profession cleaners. He said, "No"! We are through with Orkin. Having a difficult time telling them we no longer want their service. On top of that they then tell us we owed them $83.00 more. Okay so a guy called..was suppose to be here Friday March 14th never showed or called. he went on to explain how he's swamped with termite calls..so he's the only guy for the job? I have been waiting 2 weeks to have someone come out and address a VOLE issue. This is my first go round with any kind of pest control. Since I couldn't stand the trail in my backyard it gave me the creeps! I put down mothballs castor oil you name it to run them out! I've been using their service for about 3 years. They are good for keeping bugs away but if you have a problem don't count on them coming to you any time soon and when they do show up they just half a@@ it. Had a bunch of small ants show up one day, the worker sprays a crack in the floor and says "I don't want to leave a trap then you'll have a bunch more". Guess he fought it was ok to only take care of part of the problem. By the next few days I had the ants everywhere! Threw food out, the ants were in all my food. Orkin wouldn't come out for 2 days! I figured if I have to wait that long and waste money on food then I'll kill them myself. My technician, Kevin was awesome. I haven't seen any roaches for a while now. Everytime Kevin visits he is super friendly. Every time I called because I kept seeing roaches at first they always came out that week and it was completely free. I had an appointment on a Saturday morning and was called shortly before and asked to switch to few hours later. I agreed but emphasized I didn't want it to be any later due to out of town company coming and worried about my issue. I have not heard from them SINCE!!! I called the company 20 minutes after their latest time they were supposed to show to my house... Got the national call center which cannot directly communicate with the technicians themselves. BEYOND frustrating! How can I not reach ANYONE when I have a service tech who is supposed to show up to my house that day!??!?! If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service is TERRIBLE! I signed up for service about a year ago and have only been able to have someone come into my house 2 times to get the house sprayed. Every other time no one called to set an appointment they just came while I wasn't there and sprayed outside and sent me an invoice through email! In March I called to cancel my service. The lady I talked to was super understanding and was like well you have to do this last service and then it will be canceled. Well then in June I didn't get a phone call or anything letting me know anyone was coming out and I had called and canceled in March so I figured it was done. Well I got an email with an invoice for service because someone just came and sprayed the outside, again not even calling to make an appointment. Well I called to complain and get the charges taken off and they tell me I have to talk to a manager and he will call me. A week goes by and I don't receive a call. Well I call again and am told oh they are busy so they will call me back the next day and she will put my paperwork on their desk. Well another week goes by and no phone call. Then some lady by accident calls trying to sell me the service and I unload on her and she is like sorry they have been short staffed and I will get someone to call you back. No one calls!!
