We foster dozens of cats and kittens every year in our hometown, so we thought it would be nice to visit with some of the Orlando kitties during our vacation. I was immediately taken aback by how rude the staff was to my kids, who are very experienced with cats and kittens and were doing nothing wrong. There are a lot of rules, but I understand they are to protect the cats from overstimulation. The place was not busy, yet exactly at the one hour mark, they would kick people out even if in the middle of playing with a happy kitten or had a soundly sleeping cat on their lap. Overall it just seems like a lot of power tripping, and not actually geared towards socializing cats and encouraging more people to adopt not shop. The shelters and rescues I work with would never treat potential adopters so rudely. read more

Very well run establishment. You enter into a Starbucks-like cafe (you reserve your cat play time and order/pay for drinks at the same counter), and get a specific time to enter the separate but connected cat room. The cafe is nice enough on its own to visit if you just want to sit down and enjoy some coffee or sweets. The window through to the cat play room will satisfy those who like to look at cats but not actually touch them. The cat room itself is staffed by truly caring volunteers. It is clear that the first priority is the cats, and they put the safety of the animals first. To the people who complain that there are too many rules regarding the cats, I ask: How would you like it if people came in and out of your room all day, poked you with toys, and tried to pick you up, over and over? read more

This place was horrible. First, just know that you have to pay to pet the cats! It's $8 for adults and $4 for kids. So, I did pay for my 4 kids to pet the cats. However, when I do, I expect my kids to actually be able to pet and play with cats. There were only a couple of cats that were accessible. Then the lady, who was not very nice, micromanaged their play. They can't use a certain toy because it's to big for a certain cat and couldn't hold them. If the cat was sleeping, they had to leave them alone. There were so many rules that it took the fun out of the experience. It was weird and very uninviting. The cats have a cat door leading to another room where people are not allowed. Most of the cats were in there. They had some older kittens in a pen that people could go in for 10 mins each. The adults were allowed 15 mins. It was just a pitiful experience, and our kids were less than thrilled, to say the least. I can certainly recommend the coffee place next door, but don't expect a fun time with the cats!! read more

It's spring break week and we expect places to be crowded. Like theme parks. Not cat cafes. But we called a day in advance and asked if we could walk in, they said it's best to make reservations. So we did. I looked around on their site for info and saw it say max. 5 people per group in kitty play area. Now, they have a kitten area which is a tent you can sit in for 10 minutes but there's no way 5 people could fit in that tent so I know that they weren't meaning that was the area maxed at 5 people. I assumed they meant the whole cafe has a limit of 5 people to avoid large crowds and scaring the cats. (Attached is a photo you can see for yourself) Well that's wrong too. Because we were the first three in there at our reservation time and followed by 16 more people. Did I mention there were only like 5 cats? (Not including kittens) How do you expect 19 people to share 5 cats for play time for an hour? Also, we were told we can pet them all we want but no picking them up. One group of young girls did nothing but pick up the kittens to take selfies with them. Nobody paid attention so I guess you can just do as you please. I did attempt to ask one of the workers about availability of the kittens for adoption but they seemed far less than enthusiastic about talking to anyone. This place has so much potential and is such a great concept. Just a total and complete waste of my time and money to get there and it on a chair doing nothing. I would have been happy just getting the coffee and heading on to the next adventure, but the wife had other plans; see cats. I'm not a cat person so the other side is there if your interested in them. I checked it out with the wife and our son. They both love cats so they were is heaven there. They had some odd rules about going in and the lady there was different. I guess crazy cat lady really has some meaning. I would go back if forced by the family. This is my first time at a cat cafe. Loved it! The cats were friendly. Given the nature of cats, don't go expecting all cats to be up and wanting to play. They have some rules posted on the wall, make sure you read and respect them. The staff was friendly and informative about the adoption process. Most of the cats that were out when I went (12/27/16) were young; the organization also has other cats who may not be out. Make sure to ask them :) You need to make a reservation and there is an $8/person fee/donation. I think it's worth it and it goes to helping the organization continue doing their awesome work. When I registered online they asked for my card information but (as stated) my card was not charged; they were just testing out the system. So I made my $8/person donation after checking in. That said, arrive a few minutes before your time to check in with the cashier at the coffee shop. You can't sign up for the day of online. However, I didn't know this and signed up for the following day but showed up the day of by accident. Since we were only 2 and they had space, the staff let us go in. read more

What a great experience! They really should specify that the cat time starts every hour, on the hour. $8 per person per hour, not bad for something new. The cats are so cute! It is a little disappointing that you have to contend with the other people there to play with the cats and get their attention, but it wasn't crowded. I saw the other reviews of cats not paying attention and playing with people....um...they're cats, cats are picky about play and what they do, cats at independent and do what they want, when they want. The experience was a lot of fun, but it's not something I would do again. I wanted to try it once, and I did. It's not any different from owning a cat (I have 2), except for the volume of cats that ignore you goes up. Great for a first time experience, not really worth going back though. read more

I definitely recommend going and seeing all the cute kitties! I visited with a group and it was great they have a bunch of activities like coloring and name pairing pictures for the cats it made it fun to try and see all of them. A lot of the older cats were taking naps but the kittens were very friendly and loved to play. I would also recommend trying the cafe side as well. This place was my favorite part of my trip to Florida! It's about twenty minutes from the center of Orlando and in a really cute area. I got a smoothie when I went and although it's a little pricey it's quality stuff. The coffee shop gave such a cozy feeling and everything they did with the cats was very sanitary. I found out about this place through Groupon while I was looking for fun places to visit before taking a family vacation to Orlando. I paid a low price for my party of four to get a free drink from the coffee shop attached to the cafe (which you enter through), and one hour in the cat cafe for each person. Normally an entrance fee is required from what I've read, but I made sure to book reservations on the Cat Cafe's website for the morning we had planned on visiting to make sure they would have space available. Overall, my experience was phenomenal! The place was not overcrowded at all, and you can tell the staff/volunteers truly care for and love the cats they are saving. Before you walk in and after you leave they have hand sanitizer, the room is very clean, and all the cats look very well kept and healthy. My older brother and I normally have mild cat allergies and the entire time we were inside the cat cafe we did not have any issues - no itchy eyes, scratchy throats, or anything! The coffee was very delicious and a fair price (especially if compared to Starbucks), and they sell a variety of pastries and breakfast items to munch on. I got a free beverage but they didn't charge extra for substituting soy milk, and before I left I found myself ordering another drink. They also sell hot chocolates, teas, etc. in case coffee isn't your thing. The cat cafe lets you bring these food and drinks into the cafe which surprised me since I imagine some people must be messy, but no one seemed to spill or drop anything and it truly made the experience that much more remarkable! I really like the entire concept of this cafe. They had a lot of cats inside the room from a variety of ages and sizes. It was neat being able to play with them and an hour is truly plenty of time to see each of their own unique personalities come out (not to mention determine how well they get along with other cats)! Furthermore, this entire cafe is nonprofit and the adoption fees are very affordable given that all the cats are up to date on the vaccinations, vet visits, and in excellent health! No worms, fleas, etc. I trust this place a lot and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in the area! If I lived closer I would certainly be a regular. I throughly enjoyed my experience here! Parking is very awkward- maps doesn't take you directly to the cafe because it isn't street side. It's an odd walk past the side of an office but once you see the purple building you won't miss it. The owners are very warmed hearted and the animals are very very well taken care of! I've never seen such love and care put into an "adoption center". I did not go with the intention to adopt, just to be surrounded by 15 cats haha, and the workers didn't turn their nose up to me for it. read more

The young girl with the glasses at the register I forgot her name should be more welcoming I felt a bit judged when I walked in. I could've bought 2 huge cups of caffeine and adopted a kitten but I felt un welcomed. A smile with a hello goes a long way not just a hi do you want anything and we have to make sure if you can fit the cats needs... I was really looking forward to adopting a kitten but that is not how you approach anyone specially if you don't know them. You don't know what occupation a person does... Coffee is decent but slightly bitter. The experience is cool for adults and if you plan ahead of time. But if you have young children I don't recommend trying. Kids under 6 I thinks cant see the kittens (even supervises) and it's only open to them on certain days. I love the idea for sure and will go back just to support the kitty's, but they could use a better operation. read more

After losing our cat last year, we were hoping to get a little kitty time here. There were a few people in the cat room, but the advertised "17 cats" meant there should have been plenty to interact with. So we paid the $10 each and gave it a try. There was about half of what was advertised, presumably the rest were hiding in the back room for employees only. Those that were out were not very friendly. Presumably they were annoyed by the under-supervised kids who were sticking feather toys in their faces - their parents mindlessly taking photos and the employee sitting at the front desk reading. One extra star for trying to find homes for all the cats, but that's it. We only stayed for a half hour and were VERY disappointed. We will not be returning. read more

We went here because my boyfriend is OBSESSED with kittens, and I'm equally as obsessed with coffee. It was the blending of both our worlds. It's a bit far from us, over in Clermont, but we were heading that way to ride bikes anyway so we decided to use our groupon and make a reservation to play with the kitties. Cat cafes may be new to Orlando but they are extremely popular in Tokyo, Japan. Boyfriend and I love exploring and trying new things, especially things that are common in other countries, so this was a fun and new little experience. The coffee tasted great and the kittens were sweet and playful. FYI if you don't want to play with cats and just want coffee the cafe and cat room are separated, so no worries about people with cat allergies or with a fear that the coffee will get tainted. It's not like they're jumping up onto the coffee maker! You can even just look through the window into the room if you don't want contact with the cats. Awesome experience! Super clean (I'm a little allergic and I handled 15 cats in one room with zero sneezes or sniffles!) FYI 1-3 pm is when most kitties are napping so you don't get to play with many over nap time but we came just to be with them and it was super relaxing and fun.
