Made a copy of my claim ticket. Another month went by and finally got the part. Fixed it in a week. I finally picked it up and the grand total was more than $150 for a new disc drive. When I came to get it he still didn't know which one was mine because he has 3 sitting back there. This is where your electronics go to in hopes you forget you ever dropped it off for repair. A component in my pool's salt water system failed, and I needed to have a replacement soldered onto the circuit board. I called and the owner said to bring it over. When I arrived, he said that he had just finished one just like mine! He tested a few other circuits using a multimeter and said he would be able to attach my component in about ten minutes. So, I went next door to the Asian supermarket and picked up a few snacks. Ten minutes and $35 saved me $350 for a new board, and everything is working great. I'm adding a star to this review because the people that run this place honestly seem like nice people and I appreciate small businesses and want to support them. I brought my portable Bluetooth speaker in there to get looked at as I was having issues with the volume knob. The lady at the counter said it wouldn't be a problem and there was a $45 deposit that would be used if the speaker repairs were under that and if it was more then they would call me. I smiled and signed the paper without looking at it which I found out later was a mistake. I called back two days later since they had not reached out to me and was informed that the total repairs would be $110. At that price point I could buy a brand new speaker to which she replied "you already spent $45, it's only an extra $65". I politely declined the repairs and asked about my deposit. NONREFUNDABLE is the fine print. After asking about it since it was never mentioned when I first came in the reply was "We've been doing that for 26 years". Not a whole lot for help or any real customer service. After a 7 minute conversation with them about maybe making that more clear to the customer, which turned into an argument, I decided to part ways with my $45. My complaint with this establishment isn't with their repairs (they might do fine work), not with their policies (I should have looked at the paper before trusting someone and signing it), but with their overall customer service. When something is NONREFUNDABLE it needs to be expressed clearly to the customer. I know their time is worth money, but after leaving there I brought it to a friend who opened it up in about 5 minutes and noticed what was wrong. Called the manufacturer and they told me it was about a $10 piece and to ship it to them to fix for free and they'll ship it back. Moral of the story. Read the fine print and know that if you get anything repaired here no matter what you won't get your deposit back. read more

As a followup, I'm giving this place an extra star, but only because they finally did fix part of the problem after about 2 months. The crackling sound is gone from the speakers, but now the sub-woofer channel isn't working so I guess I'll have to get a new system after all. They didn't try to charge me anything more for the additional work, though I'm definitely not taking it back there to get fixed again. And I was now told by the owner that his 90 day warranty evidently means he has up to 90 days to fix the problem, and if he can't fix it in 90 days, THEN he will give me my money back. Hmmm... not exactly the way the usual 90 day warranty works in my experience... Orlando Electronic warranty as found on the invoice: "Service warranty is covered for 90 days for parts, and 45 days for labor. If other parts break down during warranty period, They'll be replaced & extra fees will be charged. Equipment left satisfactory condition . First off I've seen this place since I live right up the street for years. My laptop won't power on and I couldn't get to the battery. They charge 45. As a deposit. Well after two days of no one calling me back I called and said they don't know how to get to the battery and will have to replace this and that that and this for and extra 125!! I bought from Ebay a Realistic DX-400 AM/FM/SW/LW Radio! The seller said the radio was functioning! When it arrived to my house it was working but to my Surprise upon maximum volume the radio speaker was very low! I could not send it back because it was advertised in Ebay when I bought it that he did not accept returns! So since Chuck has fixed me radios before I went to him in Orlando Electronics and told him about the problem with the radio and since I live in Clermont almost a 1 hour drive of he could fix it the same day and he said yes! We left the radio at 1:30pm that day and at 3:00pm the radio was fixed and now the speaker of the radio is very high and deep in sound! Last week I bought in E bay a supposedly Refurbished Vintage Sony ICF-2001AM/FM/SW/LW RADIO and after using it for 2 days it started malfunctioning in which the direct frequency entry button in 0 was not registering when pressed! Again Ebay seller with no return policy! I took the radio today at 10:00am and told Chuck about the problem and again ask him that due to the 1 hour drive if he could fix it today and he said yes! At 12 noon he called and the radio was fixed! We (My wife, Tere Pizarro and me) thank God and the Virgin Mary for giving us the pleasure to meet this radio professional Chuck and his wife! Unfortunately, my father isn't very internet savvy and didn't check the reviews on this place before bringing it here. When my father checked on the repair, he was told it wasn't fixed and the owner REFUSES TO REFUND my father's deposit even though NOTHING WAS FIXED. When I tried to speak with the owner, he repeatedly yelled at me and said he wouldn't refund anything because "that's how he runs his business". We recently lost my mom and my father just wanted the DVD player fixed to watch movies to occupy his time. If I would have known he was doing this, I would have just bought him a new one. OK, so I see the previous low ratings. But I was referred to Orlando Electronics from a specific blog about vintage turntables. Electronics in general, tend to get better and cheaper over time. That is as long as they're considered current, like printers and DVD players. So if your printer or DVD player breaks, just go out and spend a few dollars for a new one. But vinyl is considered dead to most people so even though there are still enthusiasts; it is nearly impossible to find a newly made quartz lock, direct drive, fully automatic turntable. That was the situation I found myself in when my turntable broke. I couldn't replace it with new so I gambled on Orlando Electronics. Chuck did a great job. Of course, it took a while but he was thorough, had to rebuild a wheel and clean wheels and replace belts and sensors. Even though he failed at his first attempts, he didn't give up and after several weeks I got back my turntable in original perfect working order. Sure, there may be some glue under-the-hood that I can't see, but it works like new. I understand the reasons for the low ratings but I think they are somewhat unfair and shouldn't necessarily scare you off. For most electronics, it's more cost effective to just buy new when they break. But for rare, vintage type stuff or if it has sentimental value, I can't recommend Chuck and Orlando Electronics highly enough. read more

Can not give them no star at all , they are not worth any star as far as their cheating service on my Dad. An old, veteran Man , come to them to buy T-Mobile service and pay his bill at their place. They took his money and did not pay T-Mobile. So now my Dad has to deal with a debt collector calling 10 times a day for his phone bill. Brought the letter from Those guy to let them resolve it and what he got is no care . What is an awful business can not believe they are still in business doing this way. The screen on my iphone 5 was broken and other places I went to charged me almost $400 or higher to get it fixed, but this place charged me only $320. It was fixed the next day, how great is that! Definitely will come here again. read more
