This was my second time coming here, and the experience was less than desirable again. When we first walked in, we were met with, "I'm in the middle of something right now, I need a few minutes." Which I guess was fine, but we were the only customers in there, and they were all sitting, and standing in a cluster talking loudly about another associate who was late. After about seven minutes, someone came from the back, and attempted to help us, but was unfamiliar with my phone (Z Fold), and was at a loss with issues my husband was having with his phone. Stoped by the store recently, what a terrible customer service experience. If I'm not coming in there to buy something that makes them a good amount of commission they barely want to talk to you. Unwilling to help with anything that isn't sales related. Started going to the Winter Park location, those guys are super helpful. This used to be a great location to take your phone when you have issues. My experience on Friday afternoon around 1ish was bad. I was first greeted and asked about what I needed assistance with and I was informed there were 2 ahead of me not an issue at all. The man who greeted me came up to confirm the issues I was having and he was completely wrong. I told him I had issues hearing callers, I also had issues receiving calls which I told him had been an issue now for close to a year. I told him my phone started blacking out and it's been taking 1 to 2 mins to come back on. The issue with blacking out was when I'm holding the phone the screen will black out when on a call. His response to my text messages not being received was because I had 13 messages in my iMessage and some notifications I hadn't cleared I stated Verizon can't handle that he said it's not Verizon it's Apple. The issue with not receiving calls and messages was the network was too busy especially downtown Orlando I told him I don't live or work there and told him where I work and thwart location was real busy as well. He was very condescending during this whole encounter not to mention disrespectful he informed me that if I take my phone to any Apple Store they would check it for free he also stated they had classes I could take. It was very clear he didn't want to help me. He did find why I wasn't hearing calls because the screen cover had the wrong size I finally got sick of the disrespect and condescending tone and left now I'm thinking of ending 10+ years of being with Verizon. read more

Walked in an hour before closing, expected it to be a little busy. Was not acknowledged as I walked in. Walked around looking at things. A few more couples walked in about 10 minutes after I did. One of the associates immediately walked up to them and took their information. I looked over to them as they turned my direction and they looked to me and just turned and went to the back and put the tablet down. I was interested in asking more questions about home internet service but now I have serious doubts since this is how I was treated in their store. read more

Terrible service and the stores are a complete scam. Do not give your phone trade-in to a Verizon store, they'll take the phone, never mail it back to Verizon corporate and you'll never see the trade-in amount. Even though you give the phone to the Verizon Store, the stores aren't connected to the corporate office. If they take the phone, Verizon won't look at any proof and won't do anything about it even though the fault lies squarely on them. It's actually pretty pathetic. read more

I have problems with AutoPay and there were some charges in my account that were supposed to be corrected. Half an hour I spent asking for help in this place and the answer always was "this other guy will help you" and the store was almost empty. Chris was great, but the technology and systems wasted our whole Sunday and still no upgraded phones. There system was not processing our order and it was in limbo. The general manager wasn't able to fix it til Monday. Monday came and general manager did not fix it. We came in again to hear same thing. Called 1800 number and they said order was canceled but in store was showing still in process. General manager still hasn't reached out to us. This Verizon store is GREAT and Alex that works here is even better! He helped me and my mom so much with getting her new phone. He explained the pros and cons of all the phones we had asked about, and answered all our questions without the slightest hit of annoyance. He was extremely patient with us, and didn't pressure us into anything at all. You can tell that he is just a really nice guy in general. (Verizon boss.... he needs a raise!) We had come in the day before the new iphone4s came out, and just so happened that my mom was thinking of switching from the droid to an iphone. Once she decided to wait for the new iphone4s to come out, instead of buying the older version, Alex suggested that he could bill the account in the morning before the store opened, that way a phone would be guaranteed and we would not have to wait. Not only did he bill the account, he sent a text message when everything was ready for us to come it. Every other employee at the store seemed really nice, and very attentive to the other customers. So I will spare you the details of my new phone plan, and the wide variety of phones they have to choose from. But I do want to comment on the excellent customer service I received today while visiting this Verizon store on Colonial. Not only was I greeted right away, despite the other customers who were there before me, but I was taken care of pretty quickly and by someone who was simply nice and helpful. The associate went above and beyond and took care of things for me that I would have had to do myself with much more frustration I'm sure. He even offered that this store was known for being "a nice store." In other words, they all subscribe to the idea that going the extra mile will pay off in the long run. Thus, a dreaded errand for me turned into a pleasant encounter. So if you use Verizon and need something done, changed or fixed, I would have no qualms about sending you to this location. read more

I know this location doesn't have the best reviews but they got the job done for me in my cellular time of need. My iPhone sustained water damage after I was caught out on a run in a bad storm. It was deemed irreparable by the repair shop. I found this out around 5:30 at night. I immediately hopped online to see what my replacement options were. I was able to find a phone that was available for in-store pick up. The problem seemed to be that it takes 2 hours to process and it was already by now 6:30 (I know, I know, it took an hour for me to make up my mind). To be safe, I called the store to see if I ordered online for in-store pickup I could get my new phone that night. I spoke to a team member, Shawna I believe, and she said if it showed they had the phone I would be able to get it even though it was getting to be 7pm. She took my name so when I came in she would have it ready. I ordered the phone and about 20 minutes later walked into the store. I told one of the associates I was there to pick up the phone. Shawna came over and confirmed my name and said she had my phone. She went to the back, handed me my phone and said I was all set. She even took time to go over my new payment plan and costs so I understood the breakdown. I needed a replacement fast and Verizon came through. I had a great experience getting my new phone in a convenient timeframe for me. It was much appreciated! read more

TL;DR: friendly but not very competent service. Look elsewhere unless absolutely necessary. My wife and I stopped in to upgrade our phones in October to the newest iPhones. We didn't expect them to be in stock but were fine waiting. So we ordered them and consolidated our phone lines at the store, beginning a nightmarish adventure in customer service. The in-store clerk messed up our orders and the consolidation, which, had my wife not been watching the phone bill, would have cost us over $400 in overpayments and double billing. I won't go into how terrible Verizon's call center service was, but suffice to say we had to come back in threatening to cancel our service to get a straight answer about where our phones were. They messed up the order again so ultimately we cancelled and went to the Apple Store where we had no issues. Skip this store at all costs. read more

I really wish I had the name of the sales rep who "helped" me this afternoon when I wanted to upgrade my iPhone X to a Samsung s10+. He told me that you can only upgrade an APPLE to another APPLE phone (interesting because both app and online allow you to upgrade to any phone).. and also that the Samsung s10+ is not eligible for the yearly upgrade (which is also untrue considering the Verizon rep through the phone said it was). Either way I ended up leaving the store due to being told that the only way to upgrade was by adding another line.. to which I replied that I don't need another line.. but was then told I could "get creative with it". Right. I called Verizon after I left the store and did my upgrade seamlessly to a Samsung (from guess what.. an Apple.. EVEN eligible for a year UPGRADE). The funny thing was this sales rep told me that the Verizon reps through the phone don't really know much.. yet I'm led to believe he was talking about himself. What a waste of my time.. I could've left the store with the phone I had wanted instead of being BSd around. read more

I went into this store right after paying my bill (auto-pay), and they wanted me to pay for a sim card (my monthly bill $50) which is possibly defective, or wait an entire month till my next bill is due(so they get the credit for my bill payment in-store). They say that this is the only way you can get a new sim card. When I called the corporate office they told me that there is never a charge for a new sim card, but the store is able to make their own policy to charge for it if they want. I think this is a good reason that there are reviews for places on the internet, because this shows what their real intentions are for customer service. I hope this is helpful to anyone who is looking for good customer service when buying a new phone, or making any purchase at this location. They seem to only be concerned with how much money the store can profit and not helping customers out with any kind of issue with they products. I think it is terrible that they would make any change to company policy that would be negative for their customers. read more

I would honestly rather insert hot pokers under each of my fingernails than ever do business with this store (and at this point, Verizon) ever again. If I can spare one of you good readers the nonsense that we dealt with, this post will be a success. Backstory: I have been a Verizon customer for 10 years and I convinced my girlfriend to switch from AT&T to join me on a joint plan. I originally called into My Verizon on November 30th to find out if they would waive my girlfriend's early termination fee from AT&T (it ended 3 weeks later and AT&T wanted $100). After being transferred from one department to another over the course of over 2 hours, I finally gave up and came to this store. We arrived at the Colonial Verizon around 8p and spoke with an associate who we will call, Larry the Liar. Larry the Liar was actually very friendly, listened to what we needed and quickly got our phones...so far, so good! Before we started the transaction, we voiced 3 concerns: the $100 early termination fee from AT&T, the $35 activation fee and immediately getting our corporate discount. We explained that if these weren't met, we would wait until my GF's contract was up and get the phones then. Guess what Larry said? He said that they could credit the bill $100, that the corporate discount would be no problem and that normally they couldn't waive the activation fee but that he would "find a way" to get rid of it. As he set up our phones, we joked and talked college football. He also said I had a free screen protector upgrade. SWEET! I'm thinking this is a pretty great mobile-purchasing-experience. But remember that Larry is a liar. Here is where it get's messy... By the end of the transaction, the store had closed. After paying and walking out the front door, my GF decided to reconfirm with Larry our big three again, which were: the $100 discount, the activation fee and the corporate discount. Larry got a deer-in-the-headlights look and only said to call the next day for the corporate discount. I asked about the $100 termination credit and activation credit and Larry fell apart. He tried to explain that we got the screen protectors instead of the $100 discount and that he "didn't find a way" to lose the activation fee. Huh? So I'm guessing his plan was to sell us the phones, hurry us out the door and hope we wouldn't notice the $130 in credits he promised because he gave us $5 worth of screen protectors? He literally lied to our faces, which is a disgusting way to do business, and made me feel like I got completely taken advantage of. Total scumbag. It was late and we were FURIOUS so we shelved this issues until the morning. Next morning: The manager, who we will call Awkward Andy, called me around 11a. I explained the situation and he didn't even try to fake compassion, which made the conversation super awkward. He told me that there's no way to authorize a $100 credit and the best he could do was a 10% discount, per line, that would, over a year, equal to $100. Not ideal in any way but I had hoped to put this whole nightmare behind me. We called for the 27% corporate discount the next day. The account had to be in my girlfriend's name and it takes 30 days for that to happen which means no discount on her first bill. Larry told us that we could quickly swap owners which was completely inaccurate. I think it's pretty well known that the mobile phone industry uses predatory sales tactics but when I am lied to, there is a big problem with either the store or the company or both. Judging by interactions with My Verizon, I would say that this is a company-issue. If you stick with Verizon as a carrier, make sure you go over everything with a fine-toothed comb and if you decide to roll the dice and go to the Colonial Verizon, may God help you! read more

I came to Verizon to get a new phone as my old one had a glitch and it was time to upgrade. I was helped by Jeremy at the Colonial location. He was professional, fast and knowledgeable. I appreciated that he didn't try and push products on me. I told him what I wanted and he went and got it without difficulty. He answered all my questions and made what I thought was going to be a difficult and long process, super easy and simple. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes with a new phone!! read more

I received horrible customer service at this location. I went in during my upgrade period to renew my contract and upgrade and was told that my upgrade wasn't available. After a lot of back and forth (literally back and forth to my house to get a receipt to prove when I purchased my phone 2years ago and provide my contract that luckily my husband kept), the assistant manager stated that someone had "messed up" my account, that he couldn't do anything, and that I had to contact customer service if I wanted to "get out of" paying full price for the phone. We asked if he could at least put a note on our account stating that we had brought in our contract and receipt, which he agreed to do - but came to find out he never did. If the management at this store is this unprofessional, I worry about the rest of the staff. read more

I came in store to pay my phone bill because my card was stolen so I couldn't pay online until a new one came in. As I walked in, there were staff members helping out everyone so everyone seemed kind of busy. There was two staff helping out one customer right in front of me. After about 30 awkward seconds of standing there waiting to be greeted, I finally was by a bigger man without a name tag (had on a Google shirt with a 3 on it). I told him I was here to pay the bill and he directed me to a machine that did not take cash. I came back to let him know and he said he would be right with me. I waited for about 25 minutes as everyone else was walking out the store and I was the last to be helped even though I did not come in last. Thankfully Chris S. saw me and helped me and was apologizing many times. Thank you Chris, I really appreciate it. Check up on your customers guys and don't forget about them if you told them you'd help them out. Google shirt man even saw me as I walked up to the front to get my receipt and he didn't even acknowledge me. It's okay. I'm just here to pay a bill lol but customer service seems sad. I went here to upgrade my phone in 2016. The saleswoman I was working with told me that a "jetpack," which is a wifi hotspot device, was included with my phone upgrade. I told her several times that I did not want it and would not use it but she told me the device was included and "totally free" and she couldn't sell the phone without it. My bullshit radar should have gone off, because when I went to close my account with Verizon last year they charged me $400 for this device that I never used. Be extremely wary of any deals they offer you here. read more

I wanted to upgrade my daughters iphone. A young lady came to us without introducing herself by name and asked what can I help you find. The only way I knew she was an employee is because she held a pad. Your store didn't have the phone we wanted on display. The covers available were for the iPhone 11. No other ones were on display. I asked if she could help us get a case and she said they are all in the back which one can I get you. I don't know... I'd like to #1 look at all the colors, #2 my options, #3 the brands, and lastly the prices. It was such a cut and dry process.... your staff needs to be more personable when dealing with your customers. Definitely know the product. I asked questions and she was reading the tag under the phone. If the answer wasn't there she didn't know. It's a good thing we love apple products and have since they came out with the iPhone 4. I went to verizon because my iPhone stopped getting service. thinking that the sim was bad, I asked for a sim replacement. The woman representative returned and told me that my iPhone was completely broken and that the only option I had was to pay to upgrade. I was upset, and noted that I didn't have $1000 for a new phone. She started laughing and says well its only $700, GEE MUCH BETTER. Anyway, I asked if she recommended taking my phone to Apple first to have it looked at maybe they could repair it. She told me that would be pointless because the motherboard on my phone was broken and doing that would only waste my time. I had a bad feeling about the customer service I was receiving I felt like the woman was only trying to make a sale of me and not help me. I ended up taking my phone to Apple and they fixed it free of charge and when I told them what the woman at verizon said they were in disbelief and was happy I brought my phone to them. Came last week and no one was able to help. Had to come back to upgrade my husband's plan and switch my accounts. The clerk questioned our gift card (and his ability to accept a Visa gift card). The customer service staff was rude and explained the transfer of my phone to a different plan was impossible when I was out of contract. Had to circumvent the local store and deal with the corporate through a phone call WHILE in store. Worthless. Too bad they have the best coverage or I would've been out. The service here has been hit or miss. Overall I like Verizon so there is the reason for the 3 stars. It seems like they go through staff pretty often. There is always new people here. That's okay but the service has gone down in the past 3 years. I wish I could give you specifics but it's a general malaise.. the person helping us, Louis, was rushing us and I was trying to find out about the iphone 6. He talked about changing plans but really didn't look at the way we were currently using the plan. I do not text or take photos on my phone but he was trying to sell me this huge MB phone plan. I went to Verizon on Colonial August 15th in the evening because I had been to another location earlier in the day to address an issue with connectivity and dropped, static filled calls. I was suspicious of what I was told, and decided to check it. Joe at Colonial was outstanding: told me he had not heard of any technology changes that would disable my very old phone (I had been told earlier that Verizon was no longer going to support it); showed me an economical replacement (I had been told that I could spend $300 outright or sign on to a $24/mo alternative), explained how to reset the phone, waited patiently while I made a handwritten contact list, and was genuinely happy when the reset was complete and my phone worked fine. Joe offered first rate customer service and in doing so, assured the Colonial location of my loyalty. Great work! Thanks. read more

They are liars and they don't care about you as a customer. Don't promise a free case if you're not going to follow through with a free case. $20 off of the case versus a free case is two different things. Their business cards have a title of "solutions manager" which may be the most misleading title since custodial engineer replaced the term for Janitors. After having in writing from Verizon to return my phone to the store the staff here was completely useless. They really can not do anything except sell over priced phone accessories. They refuse to work with Verizon's own customer service or do anything to provide some version of service. Wish retail stores could just employ skilled labor. read more

My wife and I went here recently to switch from at&t, because of a special Verizon was running where you switch and they pay your cancellation fee. We were "helped" by someone named John Brown. He somehow talked us into upgrading to iPhone 7's which we didn't really need, because by trading in our phones it only cost about $20 a month for us to both upgrade. What he DIDNT tell us was that by getting the iPhone 7's we were no longer eligible for the cancellation fee reimbursement. He also gave us no instructions on how to even apply for the reimbursement, nor did he explain how the credit system works, leaving us with a $240 bill the first month. Brought it into this Verizon store, a sales rep named Erik held down 3 buttons, the phone reset, he smiled and asked, "anything else?"
