I love this trail. It's relatively new, but so convenient to where I live, and I always feel perfectly safe. The trail is about three miles, starting on Magnolia near north downtown Orlando, and connects with Lake Formosa/Menello Museum/Orlando Museum. I've noticed, too, there's more activity as it relates to walkers, joggers, and bikers. Makes me happy! The trail itself is nice and quiet, snaking around Lake Highland and behind the businesses on Virginia Avenue, then crossing Virginia running somewhat parallel to Mills Avenue. I'm so happy this trail opened up so close to me and I've definitely been making good use of it already.

Short trail to downtown Orlando with lots of Signs. Although I've seen a family I cannot remember if there was a restroom.

Stop at Quantum Leap Winery on fri, sat, or sun for a tasting. There is a gate off the trail.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

A few things knock the stars down: - The amount of rules/ regulations is a downside. There are more than any other river we've visited in Florida. It's nerve wracking to make sure you're following every new rule. - Launching and landing at the dock is stressful. It feels rushed and disorganized. - The bathroom situation is DIRE. They have a few porta potties but they're pretty gross. - I've found some of the staff intimidating/ borderline rude. There are a lot of newbies to kayaking/ paddleboarding so patience is a virtue at busy times! It's a hard paddle up stream and coming back it can be easy to lose control around the corners. There are a few spots to be cautious of other paddlers. With that said, it's really stunning. They keep the area very clean and there are a lot of spots to pull off to the side to enjoy the view. I've never done a guided tour, but I've heard they're really well done!

I walked around the lake, people watching, enjoying the foliage, the trees, the wildlife, so serene and tranquil. If I lived downtown, I would be here every day. We called in advance to see if there was an age restriction and to our surprise there was none. Instead they go off the kids interest. Game changer! This is huge because anyone with little kids knows that the attention span can be non existent at times. However we were pleasantly surprised to see our kids fully engage and try multiple areas without getting frustrated. We decided to stay and we blew past an hour pretty fast. The kids quickly figure out what's difficult and what they can master. They had a blast in one particular section. The place itself is pretty big with multiple areas for climbing and a section for strength training with weights. Everything is neat, clean and bright. Prices are pretty reasonable. Shoe rentals are $6. All ages welcomed. Will definitely be returning soon.

I was busy running around having fun, that I really didn't get many pictures other than the bunkers (about 4-5) he brought, set up and breaks down. He arrived early as he said he would, scoped out the area, made sure the areas that needed to be blocked off with caution tape were and had the laser tag guns ready. These were the highest quality that I have used. The site was accurate and you could tag each other up to 600ft. Everyone was raving about the party, my son was beaming the whole time and all the kids were exhausted (same for me) after the 2 hours. Tom runs the all the games and keeps them moving but also does not interfere. We had kids ranging from 6-10, so one minor note is he did talk to them more like they were teenagers, nothing I had to intervene on but just wanted to share for awareness. He is also very upfront about the laser guns being a bit heavy for the younger kids and 6yrs olds played a game or so and did say it was heavy for them but he incorporates them into the game as scouts which they had fun time doing. The older kids didn't seem to have as much problem with the weight. A few of the dads are now also looking schedule something with our friends in the future. Overall I recommend, especially if you need someone who comes to you and all you have to worry about is the cake, food, drinks, etc.
