I was indecisive about doing this review. However, seeing as there isn't much reviews here, I felt they needed a good one for the professional loving service they provide. We were recommended to place our order here for a vase to be used for my dad in Hawaii State Veteran's Memorial. The place is about as hole in the wall as you cant get. I parked on the street infront of their door. It's a no parking zone, but speaking to the owner, I believe, it's okay. Sure it is. It's not your car that will get a ticket. LoL. We introduce ourselves and I state my business. He goes over the options available and the cost. We knew most of this before hearing it from the person who recommended us. Still, good to hear again to get a better understanding. From there, we made all our decisions, and they wrote up the order. Here's what you need to know. Those vases with their concrete base weigh about 50lbs. Imagine the shipping cost on that. Because they are local, you don't have to worry or pay shipping cost. Plus, they will deliver it for you. No additional charge. There are couple cool perks getting your vase here. Life time warranty on dings or breaks. The best one is this. If it gets stolen, they will replace it, 1 time, for free. You know what makes that really cool? No one else offers that guarantee. I can't believe these things actually get stolen. Communication was excellent letting us know everything every step of the way. They let us know what the options are. We decided what we wanted engraved, placed the order, and didn't even have to put a down payment. We asked if we could pay for the whole thing upfront but they said we can just pay for it when we come back to inspect the work. Ok. I got a call they were going to start. Another one when it was ready for us to come down the check it out. The workmanship is exquisite. We were very pleased. And, it was delivered a few days after that. I feel the love for the work and the love for the customer. With the low price, and a couple of nice perks, is there any reason to look or go anywhere else? I think not. I had purchased vases from Ornamental Brass twice. First time in 2009 for my father's grave and in 2021 for my uncle's grave that was both at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe. They had it delivered to the cemetery free of charge. I was glad the woman at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery gave me a hint that it was cheaper to go directly to Ornamental Brass rather than through the mortuary because all the local mortuaries get their vases from Ornamental Brass so you cut out the middle man. read more

I have to admit, the product (flower vase) is beautiful (especially compared to others), the price is right ($550), and that it was a local company, but the empty promises that I kept getting on when the vase would be completed and delivered to the State Veteran's Cemetery was very frustrating. I contacted Ornamental Brass on Oct 5th, gave him a check for the full amount. He said he would wait until the headstone was put in, then he would work on the vase. He would hold on to my check in the meantime. When I finally found the headstone installed, I called Ornamental Brass to tell them that the grave was ready to have the vase installed. He said he would deliver it next week. Waited two weeks, nothing installed. Went to the cemetery office who said they did not have it and was not yet delivered. Called Ornamental Brass who said it would be delivered by next Wednesday. Went to visit cemetery Thursday, nothing there. Went to the cemetery office again who said the vase still had not been delivered. Called Ornament Brass again who said it would be delivered on monday, (not delivered), then for sure wednesday (not delivered). Was so frustrating that I was thinking of canceling my order. Went to visit cemetery on friday and saw his truck there finally delivering the vase to the cemetery office. All together, talked to Ornamental Brass five times and promised five different days. I would have given Ornamental Brass a higher score if they had actually stated when the vase would be delivered and not make continual promises that they couldn't keep. Not a good way to do business. I am happy with the product and now can get rid of the temporary vases. read more

I will try my best to be kind. I'm not saying this company does not do good work but it has terrible business practices and no customer service. I first contacted Ornamental Brass and was referred to the website, which was not working. I called them and sent an email did not get a call back. Called again and was told there us no secretary and the only emails that get read are those with certain words in the subject line. It was March when I ordered (hoping to have it installed for the first anniversary of my husband's death which was May 31st). I made a special order because I had words put on the ring. To make a very long story short, many phone calls where I was basically bawled out for wanting to know when the vase would be finished. Many emails that were not returned. To be fair the gentleman was in the hospital at one point (I believe possibly May). Many promises, he seemed to think that because he did not cash my check that it was o.k. to have not finished the vase. Promised numerous times that it was being worked on and he just needed another week. I was on the mainland and got a picture of what I was told was the finished vase. When I returned in October I got another picture of the "almost finished " vase and was told it would be delivered to the cemetery "on Monday". I returned on Monday, October 7th. I went to the cemetery in the 13th and no vase. Called Ornamental brass again on the 14th and again promised it would be at the cemetery "on Monday ". It was FINALLY delivered on Friday, October 18th. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! It is on the list the Veteran's cemetery gives you ( they have very strict guidelines). I found out they are very well aware of Ornamental Brass' business practices and not delivering in a timely manner. read more
