I had friends visiting from across the country to view Haight street and we stopped by to do some…read moreshopping. a older blonde woman working here snapped at us and ripped a coat off my friend after taking an innocent photo, and did the same to my other friend who wanted to try on an item from the coat selection. While doing so she grabbed my friend's hand, not even asking if she needed help taking her coat off. As colored women it gave a really bad impression, and made us feel we didn't deserve to wear or even try on nice clothes. I usually go around reviewing small businesses, and showing the store selection so we could advertise small businesses. We left right after. I finally had the chance to stop by here today. What attracted me the most was all of the hello…read morekitty merchandise looking at me through the doorway! Anyways this is a cute boutique. While the boutique has an emphasis on Hello Kitty products (including clothes, undies, and the usual store you'd see at a Sanrio store), they also carry a variety of young women's clothing. I saw alot of tops that I thought were very cute as well as some nice dresses. I wasn't too familar with many of the clothing brands but I imagine its similar to the brands sold at other Haight St stores like XGeneration. The prices are also not too pricey. I also got to chat briefly with Sarah (who Im assuming is the owner) who is very cute and friendly! We we talking about Hello Kitty most of the time but she definitely has love for her boutique. While leaving the store I also noticed that they carry a small collection of Harajuku lovers up at the register. I will definitely make Ruru one of my regular boutiques I visit when I visit Haight St in the near future.

Most recently, Dani (sp?) helped me with a return -- she was an absolute gem. I found her to be super patient and helpful, which led me to write this review. She didn't rush through the transaction just to get it done, but rather she talked to me throughout it making it a pretty positive experience. I also recently attended the "Queen" party here and I had a blast. My friend who had never been to Ambiance had a great time as well - I loved that they had the mini-massages, charcuterie and champagne for us! Honestly a 10/10 experience.

However, attempting to pay for it, both sales ppl ignored me, they helped the 2 white customers next to me engaging in customer service, but not me. The other sales person came over trying to hand over a sales to her to ring out and try to bypass me who I was in line to pay.
