First visit. Wow! My Masala Chai Tea Latte was the bomb. Well done to the barista. Often, I order my lattes "extra hot" so they don't cool to tepid within minutes. This time, I didn't make that request but my hot chai came out *perfect*! At delivery, my first sip was hot (but completely sippable not at all scalding). 20 minutes later it was still a nice n hot. Perhaps their to-go cups are also good at retaining heat. Either way, it was a fantastic latte, both in temperature and taste. I also wanted a snack that wasn't too dessert-y. The person who took my order recommended an energy bar...? I forget it's name but it was billed as hearty and similar to a granola bar; I'm almost certain made in-house. It was perfect. The vibes are so cozy and warm. The staff were nice. I tried pistachio and rose latte. The milk was the main flavor. I hardly tasted the pistachio flavor and definitely there was no rose syrup. Cute little cafe in Lincoln square. The space is a little small so it can be hard to find tables (especially for 2+ groups). The interior had a lot of what looked like Turkish influence. The music was a bit loud to focus on work. This place will be good for social gathering rather than a productive cafe. I did not try any food. For the drinks, the masala chai was really good 5/5! The matcha latte tasted really blend 2/5. The coconut caramel latte was ok. I couldn't taste much of the coconut flavor in it 3/5. Lots of parking around the area. I walked into Oromo with my son and daughter in tow before heading down the block to a library date. The place was PACKED! Not a single seat available on a Tuesday morning at 10:00am! The lattes are very pricey ($9 for a 16oz), but absolutely delicious. I ordered a rose pistachio, which is rose syrup and house made pistachio milk, and it was phenomenal. I also wanted a poptart, but the man working quickly told me they had been out all week and to try again tomorrow. It was a weird interaction; not rude by any means, but certainly not warm or kind, which I usually expect from quaint coffee shops. A coffee shop that offers a large variety of GF options? Sign me up. I was so exited to have stumbled upon this place and I am already planning other times that I will return. I can't wait!!! It is just such a unique coffee shop with some creative lattes and some authentic Turkish coffee options. I mean, did you see my picture? What screams more authentic than the copper pot and sand? So many childhood memories of my grandma just came rushing in. I had the GF brownie with nuts and a salep late. What I ordered was definitely not what I got but it was good, I will forgive them the flaw. My drink tasted more as if it had anise and not the thick cinnamony taste that accompanies salep. I've been meaning to write a review for a while, having spent a few afternoons there working and trying different foods. While my first three experiences were 5 stars, my most recent one was 2 stars. It was overdressed and really salty - my daughter wanted something as well. She doesn't love sweets so I asked if any of the biscotti were savory. I was told the one with anise was savory so we got one of those. I noticed a BOGO promo near the biscotti so asked about it, and only then was I offered to choose another one (which is fine, but was bummed it wasn't done proactively). I got the espresso one. However, the anise one was actually sweet (lightly sweet but def sweet), so my daughter didn't eat it. And the espresso one was old. I could smell it (it smelled like flour that had gone bad), and then I tasted it and it was def old. So didn't eat that either. But I know now why it was BOGO. Unfortunately, the whole order was to go so I could eat while watching my son play baseball at Welles, and it was close to 6:30 (closing time). So couldn't take anything back. Given my prior experiences, I'd still be willing to go back next time I'm at Welles Park, but will be extra cautious with the baked goods (and ask about freshness). read more

I have been walking by this place for several months, when I moved to Lincoln Square. I typically don't like spending money for coffee, but I decided to finally come here after visiting the gym nearby. I was immediately impressed by all the different coffee drinks they have on the wall, as well as the exotic simple ones they have, like Turkish coffee. My favorite drink by far is the Golden Mylk Latte, but I also really liked the Eggnog Latte they have during the holidays. There is usually not a very long line, and the drinks come out fast. The prices are reasonable and they also have a rewards program. I look forward to trying all the drinks on the menu, but it will be hard to deviate from my favorite. read more

I stood waiting for a good 2-3 minutes to be acknowledged to ask if someone was going to clear a table that a previous patron had left cluttered or if I was supposed to clean it myself. Also, just good hangout/work vibes in general. Easy access to the El and parking on or across the street. We decided to try the Blue Line Western location this afternoon I usually go to the Lincoln Square location. I ordered my usual "Mexican Blend" coffee which is outstanding every time, my friend ordered a hot tea and she said it was good too. We split a slice of Turkish Baklava that had the usual sweetness but it had Pistachios instead of the usual walnuts, I liked it, I even took a little piece home. My friend ordered the Tomato Soup to go and she emailed me later that night to tell me how "watery, spicy hot, cumin, etc." at any rate she wasn't too happy about it. Her comments really surprised me because I never had a bad experience with any of their pastries in the past but I haven't tried their soup either. What a gem! I had already had my morning coffee, but was looking for a healthy bite to eat before starting my day. Fate led me to Oromo, and I couldn't have been happier. I was greeted with a cheerful smile, and ordered the everything bagel with mint pesto cream cheese. It was incredible. The bagel, something that almost no one in Chicago can make correctly, was as close to NYC as it gets (you have competition NY Bagel & Bialy), crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. And the spread was next level. As I paid, I noticed a fig/date/pistachio energy ball. That's 3 of my favorite flavors, so I couldn't pass it up. Phenomenal!
