pistachio cocoa dream ball and sample of turkish delights
    Grace X.

Really cool Turkish cafe! They have a pretty big selection of vegan food items. When I went I was curious about the Turkish delights, and the girl at the counter was so sweet and let me try one of the bites they usually give out with the coffee as a sample. She was really nice, I came around an hour before closing so they were out of many baked goods however she said that if I wanted something that wasn't there she could go to the back and check if they had more. Turkish delight might not be my thing, the sample tasted pretty good I think but I'm not sure that I would want to eat more than a few small bites. Instead I opted for a pistachio cocoa dream ball, which was basically a creamy pistachio mixture encased in chocolate and was really delicious. It had an EXTREMELY strong pistachio flavor so I would definitely advise you only get it if you are a big fan of pistachio. Very unique selection! Might not align exactly with my tastes but I really enjoyed trying some new things. Highly recommend!

Really cute cafe around Lincoln square that sells breads, cookies, Turkish delight, coffee, matcha and more. It's definitely on the pricier side but the drinks and food are all high quality. I got a piece of spicy potato bread and a golden mylk latte that was $12 total. The golden milk drink had a toasty, nutty flavor that is perfect as a fall drink when it's chilly out. All the components of the drink go super well together. I wish I was a coffee drinker but the Turkish coffee options look amazing and unique. Service is very friendly and prompt. Definitely come here and give this place a try!

I wanted to try the Turkish coffee but the cafe was super packed and there was no available seating so I opted to get a brown sugar maple matcha to go instead. There is a very large menu along with additional seasonal drinks that were offered. My latte was sweet but the maple did not overpower the matcha. There were so many baked treats on display as well. I'm glad that I got to see how they made the Turkish coffee while I was waiting for my drink.

This was a nice, cozy café that was a great place to get some work done. I ordered an iced latte which was pretty good, and a spicy potato pogaca, which was delicious! It was my first time trying pogaca, and it was warm and cozy tasting, with a subtle spice that was lovely.

Oromo cafe has so many unique drinks on their menu, including a whole bunch of different matcha creations! My friend and I tried the raspberry matcha and the strawberry matcha. Both were delicious and you could tell the matcha was high quality. We also tried the green power bagel sandwiches which had pesto, balsamic, and a bunch of greens. I love that they had this option for vegans, but I will say the amount of greens was a bit heavy. They do have a selection of tables available for dining in, but they do fill up fast on the weekends. They also have a section of their menu dedicated to Turkish coffees and I would love to go back to try those.

Cute Turkish cafe. We had just had ice cream nearby, so I chose to have something simple; a matcha tea. I'm not sure what heating device they use on the other side of the counter, but that was the hottest beverage I've had. It took quite a while for the tea to cool to a drinking temperature. The menu has some unique and interesting items, so I'm looking forward to returning to try some of their special items.

Turkish coffee shop in Lincoln Square. I've been meaning to try this cafe sooner but finding parking around here is so difficult. Even on a Monday morning, there was construction happening on Lincoln, and parking was very challenging. They have plenty of coffee options and pastries. I figured since I'm in a Turkish coffee shop, I should order that. I had a double coffee with oat milk and sugar free vanilla. They make their own milk alternatives! I thought that was neat. I have never had Turkish coffee like this before so I don't know if it's supposed to be served the way I received it. It was thick and almost grainy. For a brief moment I wondered if some of the sand got into the coffee. The coffee flavor is strong so I couldn't really taste their oatmilk and the vanilla.

Oromo Cafe is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city because it serves Turkish Coffee! I was admittedly bit intimidated on not knowing how to drink it. It's served with a delish Turkish Delight making this is a unique experience for Coffeephiles. Second time doing this and this time I didn't drink the grounds ! While I typically go on my own Oromo has a lot of seating to work and meet with others. Weekends are usually very busy, So it's buzzing inside with good conversation. Staff is great here! #turkishcoffee #turkishdelight

Still adore Oromo - The strawberry cashew cream bagel is so nourishing and fresh! I crave it often :) Their patio is also great, and in such a perfect Lincoln Square location! We love bringing our dog, as well!! Employees are still great too!

Absolutely delicious latte! I went in the fall so I tried their seasonal apple butter latte that was delicious and not too sweet.

Came here this morning! Big space would be great for working. Staff was friendly! It was a bit of a wait but there were quite a few people, I didn't mind! They were selling local art by people which I loved I brought a little egg magnet home! I tried their speciality drink the iced horchata. So delicious! I want to come back and try the golden milk!

Oromo Café is such a charming spot with a wide variety of menu options, from breakfast sandwiches to coffee, matcha, and delicious bakery treats. I decided to try the vanilla latte and the goat cheese and honey bagel sandwich (which comes with goat cheese, organic arugula, wildflower honey, and walnuts). The sandwich was amazing--so much so that two people asked me what I ordered because it looked so delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly and easily accommodated my request to leave out the walnuts. I was really impressed with how quickly my order was ready and, of course, how fantastic everything tasted. I can't wait to come back!

Great cafe in Lincoln Square. I don't know how long it's been here but somehow I've missed it. I drive through Lincoln Square today and there was a parking space basically right outside so I decided it was kismet. I ordered an apple pecan chai latte and it was good. The kind of chai most places have is pretty standard and really the only thing that tends to change is the type or concentration of spices that's in it. This was an entirely different flavor profile; definitely not something that comes from a concentrate. I was afraid it would be heavy on the nutty flavor but it wasn't at all. The apple gave it a hint of sweetness and it is a great fall drink. They make authentic Turkish coffee. I don't drink coffee and have only ever tasted it once or twice in my life, once being in Istanbul--it's definitely a departure from standard American coffee. It was interesting watching the employee make it whilst I waited. In addition to the drinks, I ordered spicy potato pogocha and a feta and dill pogocha. The potato was excellent, but the feta/dill was disappointing. I'd get the potato again in a heartbeat and definitely get them warmed up or warm them at home. The place was bustling when I stopped in around noon on a Tuesday. It's not especially large but they do have several tables and counter-height seating near the window. Because it's Lincoln Square, parking is a joke (especially since they've chosen to destroy the parking lot for shops), but you might get lucky like I did if you happen to drive here; otherwise, but Brown Line's Western stop is less than a block away.

The food was amazing though, and reall good portions for what you paid. I got the khao phat muu krob which was stellar, the pork belly was to die for. Usually I don't find myself coming home with leftovers, but I had a good portion left and I had it for breakfast the next morning with a fried egg, 10/10. The coconut rice was had a light coconut flavor which was good bc it didnt alter the taste of the chicken. I'd skip on the salad and minced beef noodles next time. The noodles were a lil too thick n chewy for me. Salad was nothings special, just eating large chunks of cabbage. The Sparrow Mallorc was also really good and refreshing, not overly sweet. The egg tarts had a creamy delicious custard and the dough was fluffy like a croissant, not crisp like pie. I prefer crisp but would still recommend. I also got the chai carrot cake which is really good. The chai spice compliments the sweetness well and walnut chunks add nice texture . I want to try all their desserts at Bird Bird Bakery bc the flavors are so unique and actually really good, unlike other bakeries that try to use interesting flavors but make it overly sweet. The potato chips the dip came with were massive, fantastic, ruffle cut slices. Dip was good, trout roe ($18) gave it that extra pop of flavor. Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the beef tongue, so tender and balanced with textures and acidity. Mains were: Pappardelle (mushroom and carrot ragu) - I liked this best out of the three pastas, pasta was very tender. Cappelletti (beef, celery root fonduta) - felt a little under al dente in the sections where it was pasta pressed against pasta. The beef filling was on the average side, a simple, braised beef. Strozzapreti (duck bolognese + parm reggiano) - pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce leaned salty. Our half chicken arrived once we were finishing the pastas. Juicy and tender, with the fat/skin rendered out nicely. The sauce was good, but felt the chicken itself was lacking seasoning/flavor. The remaining duck ragu came in handy for extra saltiness. Finished the meal with the terrazzo cheesecake, and gelato scoop trio (roasted vanilla, peanut butter cookie dough brownie, and frutti di bosco sorbet). Cheesecake was light and wiggly, definitely contained some gelatin and cubes of strawberry jello; not too sweet. I enjoyed the peanut butter gelato the most, was very tasty mixed with the sorbet to make a little pb and j concoction. They also gave a little slice of chocolate cake as we were there for a celebration. Overall, appetizers were a hit, with the dessert coming in second, and entrees following thereafter. Was ~$240 w the included 25% service fee between 3 people. The food feels like 3.5 stars as the food was inconsistently good across courses, but the service/ambiance pushes it to a 4.
