i lost 2 crowns in 8 days. they recemented the first one and so far it is in place. a few days later I lost another one. Dr did not tell me that putting it back on would not work, just recemented it letting me know it may last a year or 18 months, and advised not to have it put back when it falls out. which it did, on day 2! i have no dental insurance and had to pay $295 for each repair. i called to try and get a refund. i was told the dr wrote on the notes that he doubted it would last til I got into the parking lot! so why did he recement it? he knew I had no insurance, i am a 76 year old disabled woman on Social Security! i feel ripped off and disregarded, to say the least! i have been a patient for almost a decade. i will not be back. this dental practice has poor customer service, in my opinion. i had to call several times to get the answer that I was not entitled to a refund. that their services have no garauntee! be careful before you trust them! read more

I gave two stars instead of one because she seemed to be okay with it. However I don't think I'll be going anymore. I would advise the same. READ THE REVIEWS ABOUT THE FRONT OFFICE!! I SHOULD HAVE READ THEM BEFORE MAKING MY APPOINMENT. SEEMS THERE HAVE BEEN FRONT OFFICE ISSUES FOR YEARS! I am giving this a 3-star because the service I received from the dentist and dental assistant was just fine. The problem lies with the front office. Receptionist is a 1 * .She was friendly, but I want friendly and competent! The problem I have is the receptionist that took my phone call to set my appointment and the new girl in the office. They're probably the same person, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, over the phone I was told that my insurance was more than enough to cover my extraction. I was set for a same-day appointment, and when I checked in, I confirmed with the receptionist that my insurance would be enough to cover the procedure. She responded Yes. After my procedure was done, I was given a bill for $125. I asked for an explanation, and they told me that Delta Dental only cover 50%! Needless to say I was very upset and no one can explain why I I was told that the insurance would cover everything. Again, my problem is not with the dentist, my problem is with the information that is passed on from the front office. I canceled my future appointments because I cannot trust that the information that is relayed to me would be correct in the future, therefore potentially causing me to have to pay out of my pocket again! read more

Dental work having to be redone multiple times and these were fillings. End result. They were badly done. Very dissatisfied. They ruined my teeth and chipped a crown next to the work they performed. Charging me for procedures without checking with the insurance company for coverage. They said it was my responsibility to check for coverage and that they didn't know my history. They didn't let me know. I did not authorize or did the insurance company and still want to charge me. Seen three different dentists from this group leaving the office with unacceptable dental work with multiple visits. read more

I phoned this morning, because I had made an appointment for someone a few weeks ago and was told that there was a coupon for initial appointment and cleaning for $75, which is a significant discount from $225 or $230. So when I spoke with receptionist and let her know that I could not find the coupon and looked around town for discount flyers, she said that the cost of the appointment would be $75. I thanked her and said that the person just moved here. Well.....he went to the appointment today and was charged $230. He is respectful and did not bring it to their attention. This is discouraging and general dentistry should rectify this situation. read more

I have been going to Oroville Gentle Dentistry for a few years, and had mixed results. But today was the one that sent us on the search for a new dentist. I had 2 crowns removed and replaced. I have a really sensitive jaw/teeth, and I informed them of this (at every visit actually). So when they cut these already painful crowns in half so they can pry them off, it caused a lot of pain. My jaw was yanked, pulled, and my tongue practically stuffed down my throat with a mirror. They bruised my mouth, throat, and my jaw. I called and asked for something for the pain because ibuprofen and Tylenol didn't help, they told me to take ibuprofen. I can't open my mouth wide enough to eat, and I can't swallow food because of the bruises and pain. At one point he physically held my mouth shut and said "swallow honey." Yet I couldn't because my jaw was already in lots of pain, and the stuff he told me to swallow tasted foul! He hit my teeth repeatedly while putting the instrument in and out of my mouth. He couldn't get a good 3D image, and instead of asking me to move my tongue, he pushed it so hard down my throat that I choked on the water they were spraying in my mouth. read more

I've been going to gentle dental for 4 years now, up until recently I have loved them. I was insulted by dr. Parrot (son not the father), because I have a tattoo he called me simple minded. Just because my daddy didn't pay for my college tuition so I could follow in his footsteps doesn't mean I'm simple minded. I used to spend thousands of dollars at your business a year, but now I'm going to have to find someone else to give my money to. I would also like to warn people the short hair red headed receptionist is extremely rude!!!! I'm done with this place! I will say Rhonda is amazing and I will miss her. read more

I do not recommend this dentist at all. The staff failed to inform me of some prices before doing a procedure and when I got charged I called to ask for an explanation and the girl at the front desk Alicia was very rude. I could tell they did not care about patient concerns; she would not answer my questions nicely and no one else in the office would take my call. Apparently this office is known for sneaking up charges on you. I wish I would have known beforehand that is why I am putting my review to make other people aware. read more

I came here with an emergency and was given a someday root canal, that I goodness. The doctor and assistants were all very accommodating.

They were absolutely wonderful my son who is not a patient of there's had an emergency and they got us in immediately and we're so kind and professional unlike western dental who refused to see him for a week. read more

I have had a TON of dental work done since I was a child leading to an absolute fear of dentists. I'm talking you should just sedate me bad. I avoided the dentist like the plague, thankfully good genetics made that possible but age has begun to creep up and avoiding cleanings was no longer an option. I am sure my insurance company loved me, they never had to pay a dime. Then, it happened, I broke a crown. I made an appointment to have it fixed, embarrassed at the condition of my gums. The doctors were amazing and developed a treatment plan. Ryann at the desk was amazing, comforting me and reassuring me that my hygienist would be great and she was right. I believe her name was Trista, I better learn it because we will be seeing each other often over the next few months. She made it painless, did not make me feel bad for my lack of care, was even understanding. No guilt and I think that is what kept me from going was, embarrassment. There as NONE of that. In fact it wasn't as bad as we thought, and we have a solid plan to get my mouth healthy again. Thank you to the entire team. I highly recommend this office read more

Dr. Madigral (Catalina) evaluated my oral health within the context of my dental and medical history, concerns, background and diet, she assessed my overall health and oral hygiene, specifically my risk for tooth or root decay and gum or bone disease. She evaluated possible cavities and identified two troublesome areas that would require treatment. Dr. Madigral checked how well my teeth fit together by examining my bite and jaw and examined all restorations, including fixed and removable prostheses. She discussed any complaints, concerns and expectations. Finally, she performed an oral cancer screening, while checking my face, neck, and mouth for abnormalities. Dr. Madigral was kind, gentle, and very much in tune with my level of comfort/discomfort throughout the exam. I would not hesitate to recommend her. Overall, a very impressive and very thorough exam for a "new" patient. read more

From the appointment reminder call to followup phone call by days end from the Dentist, the staff is personal and informative and I was in on time, no waiting to be seen. The doctors are great and do great work... so why the two stars? Well the front desk help is awful. After receiving a quote stating insurance will cover everything I paid my copay and left. Six months later I get my teeth cleaned and am told I have a balance. When I ask about the original quote I was told they don't keep those and they would not have said that. They just would not have done that. As a lawyer I have no problem paying what ever insurance does not. I have a problem with an arrogant secretary calling me a liar. A little tact would go a long way. read more

After being given a quote by the owner and showing up to my appointment, they tried doing more work than what was discussed. I asked if it had been approved by my unsurance. They left the room to ask & came back to continue the work. Later, they tried to charge me for the additional work (that I didn't request or approve). After receiving quite a bit of attitude from the receptionist, she told me they'd waive the additional fees but I'd have to go somewhere else next time & had me sign a release for my records. This wasn't my first bad experience here, but it will be my last! It's unfortunate the staff here seems to have a different agenda than the owner, and appears to get upset with the agreements he makes. read more

I love this place for so many reasons, not only is it beautiful in the office, but I went in terrified of the dentist, as I have been most of my life. I left feeling so comfortable I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. All the assistants are knowledgeable and friendly and The dentist I was treated by (Dr. Kluff I believe) did an amazing job, I didn't feel the shots or have any pain through the procedure and he saved me from a thousand dollar root canal. They even made room for my appointment so that it would fit my schedule. Best dental practice in Oroville hands down. read more

The office and assistant staff changes with every visit I've had. The assistants are rotated in and out as they're in training. I'm not sure why the front office staff changes so often but they do. This causes a difference in knowledge and procedure that causes problems. They offer different advise and because the assistants are learning they don't know what they are doing and continually ask the dentist who is working on you, what he needs, where it is and why while also trying to figure out what instruments go into yr mouth as water runs down your neck and chest. When asking about prices I've been given one from the doctor, one from the assistant and another from the front office. When I asked about this the asst and office staff actually started arguing. If you have to cancel an appt hope that it's not on a Monday and the office answers the phone. I had an appt where I could not give 48 hours advance notice and when I called, during open hours, I got the answering machine so I left a message. I am being charged $50.00 even though the call is registered on my cell phone showing I called the day before the appt and the time. I told them this and then I wrote a letter to dr parrot. I'm still being billed for the money. This is blackmail. If You don't pay it goes against your credit and causes problems. My main concern is the actual work. I've had three implants, that are very costly, and two are not correct. They don't fit right and yet to have them corrected I have to go through the whole ordeal again and pay again. This is their fault the implants don't fit correctly. They sit above the gum line allowing food to remain under the tooth. Please try another dentist. This office is not what they should be. read more

We have stayed on a trail basis since Dr. Parrot purchased this office from Dr. Cline and have been satisfied until recently. We alway depend on the clerical staff to keep our treatment in line with our insurance..Recently I was told I had one more peredontial cleaning available from my insurance. I took that cleaning and learned it was not true. Attempts to clarifiy this matter was basicaly ignored after two phone calls. On my third phone call I was lectured that I signed a paper stating I would pay what my insurance would not cover in spite of their employees action. They would not discuss this with me or even offer to meet me half way with the unexpected expense even when I told them it would cost them our family's visit and possible word of mouth business. Based on this experience and their lack of getting back to me; will force me to look else where for a more patient oriented business. read more
