Fabulous resale shop with a fabulous selection and some new items. Can't wait to come back, but I am from out of town so it will be a while.

This used to be one of the best places around to thrift. I know all good things come to an end, but this is very sad. They used to have amazing labels at very fair and reasonable prices. Those boutique prices have now doubled. The $5 back room now room no longer is exciting to go through. The inventory seems to stay there with very little turnover and it's very mediocre labels. I will still go in and browse and hopefully find a treasure, but it won't be as often. read more

This store truly is a hidden gem. It actually is hidden behind the Helen Woodward Animal Center. So, just follow the signs. At first you feel as though you've walked into a dazzling designer showroom. But fear not, there is something for every one. There are deals to be discovered towards the back of the store. Keep going because the are little rooms everywhere. Staff is warm and friendly. Selection is inspiring and of great value. This place made my day. read more

Great place for second hand clothing. The problem here is when I stop by the last two times I am followed around the store closely by a store employee pretending to shop. It is always the same woman and I don't know what her deal is, but from the moment I step in the door until I check out she is literally feet from me all around the store. I have literally never stolen in my life! I'm not sure why she seems to stereotype me every time I walk in the store. Maybe because I have tattoos? No idea, but it's incredibly frustrating and feels disrespectful. This past instance the store was pretty busy, lots of customers around, but the entire time she chose to keep tabs on me for no reason. Well that must have been a bore for her since you're not getting any action from me. Anyways I like the store but their incredibly judgmental and disrespectful employee is becoming infuriating for me. I feel like I can't shop in peace when I'm here, definitely not without being judged at first glance. At this point I'd rather avoid this place if they let their employees treat customers like this. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem that supports a great cause. My sister in law brought me here for a quick thrifting trip after a family party. Considering we had only 1 hr before it closed, we were about to get our shopping fix on. Their shop is beautifully and uniquely set up with different rooms of clothing, housewares, furnishings and even art work. They had a sale going on which anything about $20 was 1/2 off this particular day which was a score! My sister in law came out with the cutest leather boots for the fall as I came out jeans, a skirt and a couple of sweaters. I couldn't believe the amount I paid for the clothing I got! The only issue was there was a security tag left on one of my sweaters which my sister volunteered to take back and have it removed. I had to twist her arm.... NOT! Gave her an excuse to spend more time shopping the next time she goes. Lucky her! read more

This was an interesting place. Like any thrift store there were a few good finds here. Lots of women's clothing, small selection of men's clothes and fair selection of home goods & art pieces. Bought my daughter an 80s style dress brand new with tags still attached for $10 and myself a pair of cute earrings for $14. read more

This is the best thrift store I've ever been to, and I've been to *dozens* in the San Diego area. Someone said this isn't a thrift store - and it's true that that if you need to be very thrifty, this might not be the the right place for you. However, it is definitely a thrift store -- their mission is to sell second-hand goods for a charitable organization. And these are FINE second-hand goods, for a great cause, the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Many items are relatively inexpensive (like kitchen items and pet supplies) and some are pricier such as art & furniture. In any event, the quality is amazing! Everything is in very good condition, nicely displayed, and some great name brand items - furniture, clothing, etc. I found a beautiful Tiffany-style hummingbird lamp shade here for $49 - then found a great base for it at Consignment Classics for $25. So, while a $75 lamp isn't cheap, it is perhaps half of what I would pay new, and I like it more! If you are interested in some nice furniture, go to craigslist San Diego and enter orphaned objects. They will list a few of their pricier items here, not many are my taste but it gives you an idea of the type of furniture they acquire - often fine furniture from nearby (expensive) homes. Give it a try if you're nearby. Or even if you're not! :) That's what I'm going to do today! read more

This is a very special thrift store with unique and quite beautiful items. Prices are anywhere from reasonable to down-right inexpensive (for really good quality pieces). I've purchased furniture, jewelry, home goods and of course, clothing here; their back room is filled with amazing bargains. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. I am not sure what is going since Covid. It appears many businesses don't care about customer service anymore. Managers specifically. To be fair most of the ladies at the Resale Shop in RSF are nice and very welcoming. The manager MIKE, I could NOT say the same. I have a house full of nice things to donate including clothes, beautiful furniture, art...etc. I made a special trip to talk to MIKE about my donations. He was short with me and dry. In a place like this that donations is essential, I was shocked with the kind of treatment I received. He gave me 2 ms or 3 of his time MAXIMUM and cut me off while I had questions! He was too busy to talk to me. GO FIGURE!!! I drove 30 ms each way, and wasted my time as I refused to be treated badly. Regarding my donations In case you might be wondering, was easy to find another charitable foundation with a good cause that was very very very happy to take all I have and treated well. I am donating my things as I am moving out of State, and the new house we just bought came furnished. Hope the Cooperation will take my review in consideration. PS I have donated lots of nice things to this place in the past. Unfortunately I won't keep donating anymore. read more

I love this thrift shop! They have so much to see in all the different little rooms, it is truly a treasure hunt! So many name brand clothing, purses and shoes! I also love looking at the furniture, home goods and art. They have great sales on different days, but my favorite sale is the back room where all clothes are $5!! And it makes me feel good that it is helping the animal shelter . The staff is great too! So friendly and helpful! I highly recommend popping in here to see what treasures await you!! read more

I praise Helen Woodward Center for it's wonderful programs run by mostly professional people for the greater of animals. I have donated in the past items with no problem. Today however, I was stunned by trying to donate items and the procedure involved. The cashier was not very nice when I tried to walk in with a few quality items and I was directed to a certain parking stall only for donations. I followed directions to a tee. No one came out for a good 5 min. Going back into the store she didn't seem to know I had just talked to her. Scary. No sign is posted to where to leave donations. This facility really needs to improve on employees and signs. Sorry to say, I will look elsewhere to donate. read more

Bought a never-worn Vera Wang cocktail dress for $22 (half-off sale), and lovely photo frames $4-$7. Knowledgeable, helpful staff--many are volunteers there. Nicely merchandised and clean. Love this store. I always find something great here for the whole family. Great selection of new and gently used items. We recently got a new puppy and was needing all the gear. I was able to find a crate, dog carseat, bed, toys, dog bowl and lead for less than 1/2 the price of what Petco was charging. Mike the manager is amazing. Unworn, tag still on, anthropology dress for $40. You can't get much better than that at a second hand store. Not only does this place have a lot of good finds here, I also got a glass bowl for $10 to make myself a little terrarium, It's the most well organized second hand store I've ever been in. It is a converted old animal hospital so they use each exam room to separate kids stuff, sporting equipment, and books. The center exam rooms are used as dressing rooms and they have more little treasures to decorate those rooms as well. Front reception is mostly cool display items, dishes, and women's clothing and accessories. Most furniture is in the back room along with men's clothing, unless it's being used as display cases in the front. Honestly I spend about an hour here and could have spent more time if I hadn't had to get back to work. There are a lot of hidden good finds in between the fun stuff. An all of it benefits the Helen Woodward Animal Center. You really can't get much better than this. You get to go shopping for cheap but quality items and feel good about spending all that money on animals?! Done. read more

This is one of my favorite second-hand stores, and when I'm driving up the coast, I'll always budget time to make a stop here. All of the items are in very good condition and wonderfully organized, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. There are bargains to be found here, though not everything is inexpensive. That said, I once bought a pair of probably-worn-only-one-time, famous-brand-name shoes for $20 or $25, which, when brand new, would have sold for $300 (I checked online!). This store often has stunning evening gowns, many with elaborate beading, for under $100. I only wish that larger women would donate more of their castoffs for me to purchase! read more
