Tried calling but no one answers the phone. Tried several different prompts. Decided to just go. The pain was bad and I knew I could not make it through the weekend without knowing how bad it was. When I entered there was a person with some bill discrepancy. It was a Friday at 5:30pm and they close 7pm. She let me walk in. They took X-rays but not weight bearing which I thought was weird. Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. They referred me to a great doc and I got an appt Monday morning. Highly recommend if you are unfortunate enough to need these services. read more

I had a great initial experience. Everyone was very nice. When I went to the MRI they demanded they NEVER called me back. I called and called. Finally went to Anderson Clinic and was told it was a simple injury that was literally cured by a single shot. These people are incompetent and I was in pain for weeks unnecessarily because their doctor couldn't diagnose trigger thumb--a very common issue that is easily curable. I made an appt via ZocDoc earlier this year with I thought was a doctor (Dr. Lonnie Davis) but upon arrival it was the PA. (Recently was told by the front desk that the doctor hardly ever comes into the office.) Anyway I have degenerative discs in my back and the only possible remedy is surgery...which I've said no to for now. I made an appt cause I needed a doc's note to obtain a proper chair at work. I came in and they needed tests, did that then had an exam. I got the doc's note for the chair and it was good for 2years. I called in November cause I moved to a job in my agency that requires travel. With my back issues sitting in an upright position for long periods causes pain so I needed a doc's note to upgrade seat class for space and reclining. I called the office and explained what I needed. They said I had to come in for an appt even though I saw them in March. I went in and the PA, Elizabeth something, had a devil of a time writing my note. On the second try she put a time limit of 6 months. I asked why and she said she couldn't do more and I had to see a spine specialist. Irritated I started calling specialists and was repeatedly told that I had to be seen at least 4-5 times after a battery of tests. Complete waste of time, insurance and co-pay money for a degenerative disease. I went back to the chair letter and it said two years so I don't know why this new letter would be any different. I called to speak to the office manager and I've been getting the runaround. I finally asked to speak to Dr. Davis and was told again he hardly ever comes to the clinic so I called his practice OrthBethesda and left a message. This whole set up is a racket. Pics of call and subsequent text added for proof bc I'm still stunned myself...Cancelled my new patient appt literal minutes before it was to start, AFTER all the forms they make you fill out, AFTER submitting a plethora of personal info, AFTER driving through rush hour traffic in NW and Georgetown, across the key bridge into VA. First they said it was an issue with the X-ray, then they said the tech left early, then after I mentioned, I wouldn't break an appt last minute with my own patients unless an extreme emergency, they finally claimed emergency. Who wouldn't lead with that if it were true?? I scheduled the appt at 3pm ecstatic they had the time slot. Then took over 30min filling out the paperwork, and her "emergency" magically happened at my appt time? Not 30min before? But AT the time? Should we calculate the chances of that coincidence or go ahead and call the likelihood of BS to save more wasted time? All she kept doing was apologizing, but offering no real way to rectify it. What does the apology matter when I'm literally about to walk through the door? Didn't even bother to offer a time that worked with MY schedule. What's hilarious is they charge a short notice cancellation fee- where's MY fee or does the standard only apply to patients but not the office?? Any body would be justifiably annoyed and angry. Gas is over $3 a gallon and I just sat through rush hour traffic to get here. Who's reimbursing me that? Who's giving me my time back? I could've done so many other things, scheduled with another doctor even. Now my temporary mood is sour and my stress is high bc I've got to go back to the drawing board. People wonder why folks don't trust the healthcare system. Even when you're paying for it, it fails you. That does wonders for an injured body. Wow! Can't believe I'm the first person to review this urgent care facility that is wholly devoted to orthopedic care. I came in with some acute severe back pain and walked out with a diagnosis that gave me some answers and a plan for treatment moving forward. A few things I liked about OIC: 1. Easy online booking -- Found this place from a random google search and, despite the lack of Yelp reviews, I was desperate and took a chance on an appointment. In less than 3 minutes, I was able to make a same-day appointment online for the time of my choice. 2. Clean, modern office -- The office itself seemed bright, clean, and state of the art. You know how there are some urgent cares where things just seem dirty/grimy, and you wonder if you're going to catch something while you're just sitting in the waiting room? Well, not this place. Now it probably helps that this place is devoted to non-contagious joint and musculoskeletal injuries -- but still, I appreciated not being skeeved out while waiting to see the doctor. 3. Easy X-rays -- If you need an X-ray, you get it right there on the spot. I'm not sure if they have their own MRI machine, so I can't speak to that. 4. Friendly staff -- The staff was all very friendly and competent, even though I came in on a busy holiday when they were clearly overbooked. Still, people were pleasant and welcoming. 5. Grace period -- Due to the holiday weekend, and unexpected road closures so people could bike and skate along Beach Drive, my commute got detoured and I ended up being about 10-12 minutes late for my scheduled appointment. I called them in advance to say I would be late, and they still let me come in and didn't give me a hard time about it. A few things that could be better: 1. Tiny waiting room -- The waiting room is SUPER DUPER tiny. It's about 8 chairs arranged in a small semi-circle as if this were an AA meeting or something. And there was some self-absorbed college-aged "douche-type" guy who decided to have a 10-minute phone conversation with a study buddy in his business course while sitting in the middle of the circle and typing on his laptop. It was entirely too small a space, and too cramped of quarters, for one person to commandeer the space like that. It was loud and obnoxious. And he should have excused himself and gone into the hall to have a conversation like that for that long. Others in the waiting area were visibly uncomfortable too, so I went to the receptionist and asked if people were allowed to do what he was doing. (You know how most doctor's offices will have signs saying that no cell phones are allowed in the waiting room. Well, I get that now!). I brought it to the receptionist's attention, and while she was a very sweet girl, it was clear she was a little afraid to make waves. She didn't want to say anything to him, and it was clear she wasn't going to do so. So that was disappointing. I had to resist the very strong urge to go over to him and handle it myself. But I didn't even have the energy to pick a fight with a complete stranger that day, lol. Nor do I think the business should have required me to handle their patient relations issue in this way in the first place. 2. Appointments not on time -- Now admittedly, I was about 12 minutes late due to traffic detours. So I wasn't there for the actual start of my appointment. But I am not at all convinced that if I had been on time, I would have been seen in a timely fashion. It looked to me that appointments are just "suggestions" here. You should not expect that you will, in fact, be seen at the time of your appointment. When I arrived, there were four people ahead of me. I'm not sure how the staff strikes the balance between walk-ins and appointments. So just be aware that just because you have an appointment does not mean you will be seen at that time. Build extra time into your schedule! 3. Lack of privacy -- Because things were so busy, I had to wait a long time (~30 minutes waiting in the waiting room to be called back...then going back to get the X-ray...then going back to the waiting room to wait some more...then getting called back to a newly open exam room to wait for the doctor some more, etc.) While I was in the exam room, I heard the doctor conduct three separate appointments ahead of mine from start to finish. Please be advised that you can hear EVERYTHING, and I do mean absolutely EVERYthing! Everything the doctor said, and everything the patient said, can be heard as if you're in the same room with them. There's absolutely no privacy (and perhaps a HIPAA violation in there somewhere). Now because of the nature of ortho injuries, perhaps people aren't sharing their most sensitive and personal medical information (as if this were a gyno or PCP appointment). But please just expect that whatever you are saying is probably being heard loud and clear by the patients in the next room over. So adjust accordingly. read more

Meh, people were nice. But I didn't realize this was more of an urgent care for Orthopaedic issues. Needed my knees checked out, shoulder was in pain as well. They wrote me a script for an MRI for one knee although both have the same problem. It's been 60 days and I keep asking for the second knee to be included so I don't have to split up the trips and rehab. But haven't heard back. Short story: Didn't see a doctor (a PA I think instead) and got an unpleasant billing surprise. They bill more than twice what my (common) insurance allows. I asked about their rate and the office staff was pretty communicative. They said they would look into adjusting it for me, but never took me out of their collections work flow, despite agreeing to in writing, and never gave a final answer. I gave up and paid. This is a medical office experience like I have never had before. The front desk staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. And, boy, do they know how to listen. I can't remember going into a medical office and not feeling invisible, once we are given papers to fill out. This staff keeps engaging with you, to be sure you don't need anything. Then, in perhaps the shortest wait ever, I was back with the medical technician getting an Xray. Then I meet with the doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Both made me feel like a person, not a number. This day it was a sprained finger. About a year ago on my first visit, it was an injured knee. Both visits impressed me. Oh, PLUS, this office is in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington VA, and they have off-street free parking! I called and had an appointment 20 minutes later. This was by the best experience I've ever had with an urgent care center. I arrived with no appt on a Friday and was seen within 10 mins. I was X-rayed in 5 mins. And was face to face with a PA Allison shortly thereafter. She was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, had excellent bedside manner, and really made me feel heard. There was a slight miscommunication with a prescription but that was not her fault or anyone at the offices fault. read more

I hurt my thumb, enough that I (finally) sought out an urgent care facility. I was pleasantly surprised to find OIC near Rosslyn that specializes in orthopedic matters. They took me in quickly, did x-rays on site, and the doctor was terrific. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

My daughter severely injured her finger and I contacted OIC shortly after. The Receptionist was very helpful/professional and I was able to take her right in. The nurse was great and the facility posses and new, high quality Xray Machine. Sure enough, her finger was broken. The PA was very good and put her in a Finger Splint. All said, I highly recommend OIC and would not hesitate to use them again! read more
