Came here after a bad experience at the Ohio State spinal clinic. I feel that the doctor adequately heard my concerns, not just of my injury, but also my care from OSU and the doctor at orthopedic one did everything in his power to help not only diagnose the root of my problem, but get me matched with the right physical therapist. The physical therapist that I just saw was excellent not only did he listen he was able to create what seems to be an effective treatment plan. He took all my concerns seriously and tried to help me with the best he could The office staff was pleasant and responsive, and treated me with respect. The office was clean. I visited the office for a knee examination due to ongoing pain. It would be beneficial for your office to inform patients of potential costs before proceeding with procedures, including X-rays, to ensure transparency regarding out-of-pocket expenses. As a Social Security recipient with a fixed monthly income, I am now facing financial hardship, struggling to pay unforeseen bills that could have been avoided with prior notification. Providing patients with upfront cost estimates would enable them to make informed decisions about their care. read more

Dr. Desai performed Lumbar fusion June 2024 to remove a cyst he said was causing cramps on my right thigh, and ended up with severe blood infection and yeast infection from surgery. Called multiple times about fever chills, sweats, headache never spoke to Dr. Desai only a call by nurse over the phone told to take Tylenol cold. Ended up in ER with sepsis had to have incision reopened and cleaned out and a pic line line installed for three months. After calling Dr. Desai multiple times about excessive drainage through my bandages and clothes with only a response of keep changing the bandages. Ended up back at ER and Hospitalized a third time a week later for excessive drainage from incision and had a wound vac installed. Dr. Desai left the practice less than a year after joining. Never received an apology from him, the CEO or Orthopedic One for the negligence. I saw Dr. Jones once very brief visit, and told to come back in six months. I have had to see a rheumatologist for severe joint pain due to infection. The severe thigh cramps have not gone away and all Dr. Jones wants to do is prescribe me different neurological to try. I have called the office for assistance and had ti call multiple times with no return call for over a week while enduring pain and multiple sleepless nights of less than five hours of sleep. Primary doctor sent me to new neuro spine surgeon, and asked why I had surgery for a cyst on left side when my pain and cramps are on right side. Sent for a new scans and to see sports medicine to learn I have hip impingements. No apology by Dr. Desai for the trauma and negligence he caused, horrible beside manner, or from the CEO or Orthopedic One for this horrible experience and all the missed work and money it has cost me. The staff was very friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. JR gave me two cortisone shots in each of my knees. He could tell I was very nervous about the shots and took his time. He explained each step and made me feel comfortable. I'm not going to say it didn't hurt because it did. Orthopedic One moved to a new building so all walls were empty with no painting or color. I've never had an upsetting experience with a physician and/or their staff like I did yesterday morning at Orthopedic One. From the outset of my appointment, the doctor cut me off when I was explaining the etiology of my current injury and my relevant medical history. He spent less than 5 minutes with me and he was very curt in providing me information about the diagnosis. I was literally told: "It's a stress fracture. No surgery. 6 weeks in a walking boot. Then you're healed. Nurse will come & fit you for the boot. Come back in 6 weeks." That was all he explained and since there was not a specific incident that caused this fracture, I began to inquire about how this may have happened, what I should/could do to prevent a stress fracture in the future. Hurried & quick responses from this doctor. Through the few minutes he was with me the doctor showed no empathy and projected himself in a way that made me feel that he was annoyed and would rather be elsewhere. As I was being fitted for the boot, I asked the nurse if the doctor had written for any pain medications. She had to go and get him to ask and he popped his head the door saying, "You don't need narcotics for this. Take ibuprofen." I was then introduced to a scheduler to make my next appointment. She questioned me, "We're doing 6 weeks with Michelle?" I responded that I didn't know who Michelle was and the scheduler had to make a call, also appearing annoyed with me. As the follow-up appointment was being made, I asked her how I could get a work excuse if one was needed. She asked me how much time I would need off and I requested a week. She then says to me, "Well you should have talked to the doctor about this. I can't just write something up that says you should be off for a week. He needed to do that." At this point I took a few steps back and tears rolled down my cheeks. She made another phone call and a few minutes passed as another nurse rushed over with a work excuse for me. Maybe I've been spoiled in the past with doctors and their staff treating me with kindness and compassion. Orthopedic surgeons are notorious for not having the best "bedside manner." I get it. They do their best work and their talents soar while the patient is under anesthesia. Having met with patients in clinic throughout his career, does this physician not realize he should address pain management and return-to-work plans with a patient diagnosed with a fracture of their lower extremity? The doctor's behavior made me feel as if I was a major annoyance to his morning yesterday. I can imagine his office staff acted the way they did towards me, as they are all treated by this doctor in a way that makes them also feel like a burden. This is unacceptable to me and I will be transferring care from this practice. You don't need a medical degree to realize that patients need to be treated with respect and decency. Your team needs to do better. read more

I had a trimaleolar fracture. Dr Westerheide put in a screw too long that severely damaged my tendon requiring a second surgery for hardware removal and repair. He also didn't secure the bones close enough so I now have to deal with a separation for the rest of my life, unless I decide on a THIRD surgery. My new doctor states this is all directly related to incorrect surgery in the first place which is clear on the X-ray. The business office was extremely rude and unhelpful as they billed the wrong code and wouldn't fix it. I do not recommend this office. I had poor care, and a bad office experience. read more

It only took two docs in this practice to totally screw up my body for me to run screaming from this practice. I will never suggest to anyone this medical practice. I had attorneys that begged me to go after Robert Turner for malpractice. I didn't. I had to have a toe amputated bc of osteomyelitis and the bone after an accident five days earlier in New York City. His surgical errors and inability to do follow up care appropriately almost caused me amputation of my foot. RICHARD FISHER IS A SAINT! I'M ALWAYS GOING TO BE THANKFULL FOR HIS WORK ON ME. read more

Dr Pallente replaced my hip and I was very pleased with everything. He was extremely nice and answered all my questions. The surgery went very well and I was walking without much support in 2 weeks. As a Worker's Compensation patient, I am sure the fact that I was employed by Kroger that the doctors basically did nothing for my injuries. I was never tested for my diagnosis I was never treated for my diagnosis I was sent from one mediocre doctor to another, and in the end, I have lost partial use of my hands. Years later, when I was a private patient, they were my only option for a flareup of my hand problem. The front desk very rude to me when I explained that I was no longer a Worker's Comp. claim, but I was on Medicare. They got snotty about the new information and refused to get rid of the Worker's Comp. info , they build Worker's Comp. instead of my Medicare coverage and couldn't understand why they didn't receive payment. I'm not sure what educational level they hire. When I got into the doctor to see the doctor, he kept referring to the old medical records and did not read the current complaint. He was very cocky. He was very full of himself, and when he gave me the Cortizone shot that he said would help my situation. It made it about five times worse , I wouldn't take a stuffed animal to this place their the worst medical office in town read more

They told us we were covered by our insurance to go there, then after our appointment we checked and we were NOT covered. They made us schedule our post op PT appointment and follow-up appointment right away. They gave us a fancy folder for our survery with all this stuff in it. It seriously felt like we were buying a car. Then 3 months later we got a bill for $350 for that office visit (because we canceled everything else when we werent covered by insurance) and they didn't provide an envelope to pay the bill. They would only allow payment plan with auto withdraw from our account. Dr Mueller from Licking Memorial Hospital did the surgery and was awesome!! Much cheaper too!! read more

I had scheduled an MRI here on our first snowy day of the year! The parking lot and side walks had been cleared off so that getting in was no problem. You were greeted by a staff member with they're handy thermometer and cleared to go into register for my test. I began filling out my paperwork and was quickly called back for my MRI and finished my paperwork. I was instructed to remove all clothing which had any metal(jeans and bra) and given a pair of scrub pants to wear. My shirt was fine since there was no metal on it. We started the test. I had forgotten how small the tube is that you are put in to for your MRI! I was squeezed into the tube and the test was started. After being in there for about 20 minutes or so, I began having severe pain in my shoulder. I asked to be brought out to readjust to relieve the pain. The tech did this and I was able to finish the test. That's when the problem began!!! I was stuck in the tube and I wasn't able to move to get out! The You're a silly little girl named ups ups ups upstech guy was trying every way he could think of to help me to get out!!! I had crossed my arms across my chest to relieve the pain in my shoulder and then couldn't get them back through the tube! The neck holder doesn't move so there was no way to put my arms over my head or my arms back by my side!! The tech had tried several times to move me out and my elbows and arms had scraped them on the top of the machine pretty bad! The tech was finally able to remove a couple of things and I was able to move and twist around my body to finally get out of there! I do have a couple of bruises and a scrape on my arm but he was finally able to get me out of there!! Next time I need to do anything like this, I will ask to have an open MRI machine! Thankful for the tech and the support that he gave to help me get out of the machine! The pain, bruises and scrape on my elbows showed up this morning. read more

Had a little trouble getting an appointment set that Monday, but first thing Tuesday morning they called with an appointment for Thursday. Everything was wonderful! From check in and registration to the medical staff and therapists! My husband injured his knee in January and recently started physical therapy at orthopedic one with his therapist Troy. His therapist is so nice and always keeps my husband in good spirits every session that he has. I never feel like my husband is being left alone during his physical therapy session when he's working with Troy. Highly recommended! read more

I have seen Dr Quinn and Dr. Holzaepfel at Orthopedic One. I feel they were both great, Addressed my issues and while I can't solve the leg issue, my hand will be addressed with surgery. I had wrist therapy there and had no issues with time or attention. Dr. Quinn tried everything before he suggested surgery on my hand. The only issue I have had with their services was their billing and with one specific person in their billing department. Their billing method is hard to understand and despite paying my co-pay, I always have a balance to pay. Not sure why that is and the billing department was no help. But, the Drs. were always on time and made early morning appointments for me so that I did not have to miss much work. I would recommend them. read more

I would give them A Big ZERO rating if it's available. They don't deserve anything more than that. This is one of the worst facilities who drain your time and money. Please don't go there if you want a peaceful health treatment. My spouse struggled a lot with these folks though the injury is minor. They don't even know how to submit proper MRI request to insurance. An ordinary individual is better than the doctor (Christopher D. Holzaepfel, M.D.) we've seen there. Too many visits and too many X-Rays and finally he said that "I don't know the issue". Such a worst treatment. Please visit some other facility if you don't want to be someone like me who had very very bad experience there. They suck your money. Take care. read more

Husband has an apt that he got a reminder call confirming time and location. Go to Westerville location early to make sure paperwork could be completed. Front desk asked his name three times then his date of birth. They then said he must have a doctor's appointment because they don't see him. He told them no he had therapy. Lady at front desk was rude and said it must have been a miscommunication but he was supposed to be at a different location. So we now have no time to get to the new location and she acted like it was our fault even though we both knew where we were supposed to go. Front desk lady should not work the desk if she is going to be rude and not are about the patients. It was completely unacceptable the disdain and disregard she should is. read more

I saw some 1 star ratings and thought to myself, "They're not counselors or psychiatrists or marriage counselors, they're physical therapists and their sole job is to help us feel better," and in my experiences they rate a 5 star. They're not going to hit 5 stars every time because you can't please anyone. My doc sent me there with what he thought was a back issues. My therapist suggested it could be my hip. I told her I was supposed to do 6 weeks of therapy then if that didn't work I'd have to get an MRI. I realize that's normal protocol but I knew if I finished the therapy, went back to the back doc and scheduled the MRI, waited for results, scheduled another visit to discuss and found out it was my hip, I'd have to contact another doc, and start the whole process all over again. Rather than doing the MRI I contacted a joint doc at Orthopedic 1 in Dublin and sure enough, my therapist was right, it is my hip. These people don't just bend, twist and rearrange muscles, etc. they explain in detail what's happening physiologically. That's important to me. Helps me understand what's going on in ternally. Would I use the facility again? Absolutely. They may make some people angry because someone didn't pay enough attention to them or it took too long for something, or they lost some information, etc etc etc, but at the end of the day, if their efforts help me feel better, all the rest of the stuff is just a temporary inconvenience. read more

This business is a combination of The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute and the Ohio Orthopedic Institute of Excellence. I am not sure when they combined into Orthopedic ONE. I broke my foot on December 15, 2013 and went to the emergency room. They referred me to Orthopedic ONE for a follow-up appointment with an orthopedist. The first appointment I had was on Monday, December 16th and I was pleased that they were able to get me in so quickly. I waited for at least 45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen though. I was ready to get up and crutch away, but I knew that I needed to see the doctor to confirm my broken foot. Dr. Westerheide was friendly enough but spent very little time in the exam room. I had indeed broken a small bone on the side of my foot and needed to be on crutches for a week and a boot for a month. I was scheduled for follow-up x-rays on Monday, January 13, 2014. I was given a reminder card that had my appointment time down for 3:10 pm. I showed up on January 13th a little prior to 3 pm and was told that my appointment was actually at 3:40 pm. I showed the receptionists my reminder card to indicate that there must be a mistake. They told me it was "okay" and that "they would come get me soon." I then proceeded to wait until 4:10 pm in the reception lobby. I got up to ask the receptionists when I would be seen. It was now an hour past my appointment time and 30 minutes past the incorrect appointment time. I feel that this is ridiculous--if there is an emergency, please let people in the reception lobby know why they are waiting so far past their appointment time! The receptionist stared at me blankly and informed me that I was the next patient to be seen. She clearly did not understand why I would be annoyed and I informed her that I did not appreciate my time being disrespected and that I found it unacceptable. Just a blank stare back. I work with the public every single day; this is horrible customer service. Obviously the squeaky wheel gets the grease because I was called back immediately and waited very little time to see the doctor. Unfortunately, I could hear his staff talking about me in the exam room before the doctor came to see me. I know that I was, understandably, curt with the staff, but talking about me is incredibly unprofessional; this is a business not high school. Dr. Westerheide then came in and indicated that there was a computer mix-up about my appointment time and also seemed perplexed as to why a person would be annoyed for waiting over an hour past an appointment time. I honestly don't even know why this place makes appointments with patients because both times I have been there I have waited well past my appointment. Doctors are notoriously late, but I found this well beyond my normal expectations. The doctor saw me for literally two minutes. If I didn't have insurance and had to pay out-of-pocket I would have been livid. A few changes in behavior would have prevented this from being a horrible experience: 1) apologize and make sure to get me in as quickly as possible as this was a mix-up on their end, 2) please explain the long wait time to people in the reception lobby as a courtesy, 3) when I got up to ask when I would be seen please do not stare at me blankly--customer service is really, really important, 4) do not talk about patients behind their back, especially if they can hear you, and 5) please make patients feel welcome in the exam room--I feel like two minutes with the doctor is crazy. An earlier toe issue had me seeing a doctor affiliated with OSU. I will be returning there instead. read more

Check-out person for Dr Westerheide was kind and apologetic. Waited 40m to see Dr Westerheide. He is good with shoulders but don't expect support from the high school assistant. I have a mallet finger injury and Occupational Therapist Julie Slough has been wonderful here. She listens and adjusts her exercises, splints and care based on my concerns. She is focused on my care rather than rushing me out the door as quickly as possible. I was concerned that my finger would never function normally again. I was seen by Dr. Westerheide on March 12 , got in within a resaonable amount of time and he and his recorder spent an ample amount of time with me to explain my condition and the options I had to treat it. My husband has also been seen by Dr, Snook who did back surgery for him in Sept. both of us would go back for any additional problems. This office is extremely busy and after reading these comments I would call and verify my appointment before I drove 50 miles to be seen. read more

Dr. Quinn is fantastic and so is his nurse. I greatly appreciate the great care from them. My poor review is due to the fact I was deceived on coverage with my insurance. Orthopedic one no longer takes Aetna.. Which is a major provider. When making my appointment they ask same insurance and yes I am still with Aetna. Now at that point why didn't they tell me that Aetna was no longer in network? To me I feel that it was very deceiving and bad business to not inform patients of this critical info. Also during my appointment I was told things were covered under my insurance and they weren't. Now I stuck with a large bill which I was not prepared to have. DO NOT trust this place and the things they tell you. I think it was done on purpose so they don't lose a significant number of patients. It's bad business. I will not be returning and currently attempting to return the equipment that I was told was covered by insurance and ended up not being. This has become a blame game between orthopedic one and the insurance company and of course I am the one that pays for their incompetence. read more
