In my opinion, HomeDepot is more for construction workers, Lowes is for those looking for better quality and Menards is totally upscale and beats them both hands down. Before relocating from Keego Harbor, MI to San Angelo we purchased 2 ceiling fans for our San Angelo condo. Not sure what happened during our chaotic move, we discovered that one light didn't work after installing them in our condo a month after moving in. I emailed Menards customer service and explained that we purchased them in MI and installed them in TX with no way to easily return/exchange it for another fan. Menards doesn't have a store (yet) in TX. Linda w/Menards customer service took the bull by the horns and within 2 weeks we received not 1 but 2 light replacements for the ceiling fans. Talk about GREAT out of state customer service! Menards is simply the BEST. They could have said "you need to return the defective fan for a refund".

Their plants and tree's are always healthy, in great shape and well taken care of. when you consider how much effort goes into traveling to a nursery to buy your plants and bring them home and plant them, followed up with with ongoing watering and care, there is nothing more annoying than seeing the plant get sickly and die shortly thereafter due to poor quality stock from the business and/or inadequate care of the plants at the business. I have seen this movie too many times from plants I have purchased from the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot which is the primary reason I buy my plants at Bordines. Relative to nursery itself, Bordines has a very large selection of healthy plants/tree/shrubs where their staff in quite knowledgeable in all garden matters in general. The flower prices from what I can tell are in line with the big Box stores for the most part where they have nice sales throughout the season and especially on Memorial Day weekend which is when I buy most of my flowers in particular their hanging baskets which are a great price during this holiday weekend. trees and shrubs are a tad higher in general but the selection is quite large versus the big box stores and are definitely quite healthy and ready for transplant unlike the big box stores. Overall a great placer to shop for all your garden needs where you can rest assured yours plants will be healthy with a great start on them acclimating to there new home and surviving and thriving throughout the season.

They have a very broad selection of merchandise to include clothing, hunting gear, animal, food, barbecue stuff, tools, and the list goes on and on to include live chickens and ducks! Nice! I specifically came to this store as they are the only store in the area that sells lumberjack wood pellets for barbecue smokers. These are some of the best pellets you can buy and if you are serious about how you do your barbecue, they are one of only two pellet brands I use with the other one being bear Mountain. The price was cheap in my mind, $10 for 20 lbs, with a nice selection of pellets to choose from. The only other option to get these pellets in our area is buy Internet purchase for a SIGNIFICANTLY more money! Overall, a nice country style store with a huge selection where if you are in the area, you should definitely check them out as I believe this chain is fairly new to Michigan
