I came in on Saturday, April 4 intending to purchase a new pair of glasses, but unfortunately ended up leaving due to the experience. I was browsing and trying on frames when one of the employees hovered very closely and watched me the entire time. It felt uncomfortable and more like being monitored than helped. At one point he told me I should remove my hat because glasses "fit better," but I explained I wear hats often and wanted to see how they look with one on. The comment came off more condescending than helpful. I understand being attentive, but this felt excessive and unwelcoming especially for a higher-end store where I expected a more relaxed and customer-friendly experience. I started coming here several years ago, as they are the only place that carries a specific brand I prefer for both sunglasses and prescription glasses. Today I was helped by Valentina, who was extremely patient, provided some great suggestions and without the pressure. After about 30 minutes or so we landed on a pair of frames with custom colored lenses. As for the store itself, I found it to be very clean, well organized, and had a vast inventory of the latest styles. The prices were reasonable and historically their turnaround time for having prescription glasses made has been rather quick. Happy to see a solid business have the longevity they've had thus far, especially considering the number of businesses in the valley that didn't make it out of the pandemic. Thanks Aspen! read more

If you are looking for an upscale designer sunglasses store this is a good place to start in North Scottsdale. They have plenty of Gucci, Prada, Coco Chanel etc. but alas the service is minimal ( they basically just ring up the sale) I looked on the Coco Chanel website before going so I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted. The store itself doesn't have a website which is problematic in this day and time. I really didn't know if they would even have what I wanted. Upon walking in the empty store I picked out the sunglasses I found online and tried them on. Setting them aside I walked the store to be sure I wasn't missing anything. The young lady working Ashley was very uninterested in helping me. I asked a few questions about the three pairs I picked out and she was very condescending. It really took me by surprise. She literally looked me up and down and looked down her nose at me and said condescending answers to my questions. I quickly purchased my sunglasses and left. Not the experience you hope for while purchasing $$$$ sunglasses. Not sure if I will come back. I liked their selection but not the service. read more

You would think after spending a lot of money here for a premium prescription sunglasses youd get better treatment when you return for the second time to get your glasses fixed. Let me reiterate that better.. second time since picking up my glasses at the end of March to get repaired. The smart ass guy acted like I was getting a Rayban or a Tommy Hillfiger repaired. If that was the case, I would have gone to Costco. I was too annoyed to get his name but he kept saying maybe my kids were messing with my glasses or I don't handle my glasses properly. Also, the woman with the European(correct me if I'm wrong) accent told my husband that there are no sunglasses that uses real glass for sunglasses when he inquired about a high end brand. Unfortunately she's not that educated about them because Costa sunglasses do and he was wearing them when he inquired about a certain brand. The older gentleman remembered me because he was the one who fixed my glasses the last time. Unfortunately this is the only place in Scottsdale/Phoenix area besides the crappy Paris Optique that offers high end prescription sunglasses. So I don't have that many choices to get the sunnies I like. In a few months I will probably be back but definitely not giving my money to anyone else but the older gentleman. I hope management will look into this as the glasses they sell here are not cheap! People spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars here and the employees act like they work at subglasshut! As for my Chanel glasses, I will demand for a replacement the next time I have to come back in here for repair. read more

I had aspen put my script in my brand new Chanel sunglasses, a gift from my daughters for a big birthday in 2020. They did a great job! well, I just lost a screw not tightening it when I should have. I called ChaMel and they suggested the Chanel shop in kierlan, well they didn't help because the purchase was too long ago. I took it to Aspen, and very kind shop keeper, Lonnie, took out my substitute scew I put in, and put in the proper one, with care and kindness! ZERO. Zero stars. Went in for a new pair of Chanel frames and sunglasses. The store manager didn't even get up from her chair. Then, when I didn't find anything, I left. She FOLLOWED ME TO MY CAR. After a few minutes of her watching me I walked up to her and asked what the problem was as she told me she was missing frames where I was looking. She changed the uncomfortable hard rubber nose guards of my Costco Perry Ellis glasses with soft, pliable silicone nose guards. Also adjusted them to sit better on my nose. Free of charge! We literally walked in off the street asking for advice while visiting the mall. Now my glasses feel great and aren't causing a deep, painful bruise on the sides of my nose. After only 2 months, my fairly expensive glasses had a massive amount of scratches with average use - significantly more than prior pairs with similar usage. I put them away and didn't bother calling Aspen for another 1/2 year and reached out. They took the glasses back and for $0 had the manufacturer adhere to the warranty, replacing the lenses. The most arrogant and unprofessional staff I've every seen. They have their rolls reversed. They believe since they work in a optical eyewear shop that sells $1400 glasses that the customers should be serving them. They are clueless what customer service is all about. I bought a pair of expensive frames and lenses. They messed up the order. Made me feel like not only was it my fault, but the glasses were fine. They were very difficult about refunding my money. This place is an excellent place to buy a pair of high-end sunglasses. Dmitri assisted me for over 30 minutes bringing me pair after pair that he thought would look good on me. He explained why certain styles of glasses do or do not look good with my facial structure. I ended buying a pair of polarized Persol 3048-S that I love and get compliments on all the time. I bought a pair of high priced glasses here and had them sent to me. I had to make 2 hr. trip to the store because the temple pieces were a few inches too long. Yes, a few inches! The man who helped me told me that any optical shop could have helped me. He cut the temple pieces and adjusted my glasses. But my $200 clip ons didn't fit although he thought they were fine. I had to make yet another trip to have Gloria look at my glasses. She had to adjust them and decided to send the clip ons to be fitted properly. I went home and then had to mail my glasses down so the clip ons could be fitted properly. All in all, a bad experience and wound not recommend this store to anyone. Gloria seemed to be the ONLY professional person there. I will not return. read more
