I'm writing this review with my first ever pair of progressive glasses on and I purchased them from Village Eyeworks! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted enthusiastically and assisted in finding the perfect pair of glasses for my face. Steph was friendly, gave me honest feedback, and provided answers to all of my questions. The bonus was Bob also shared his opinion-brought out a brand new pair of frames that were still in the back-and I was so pleased with their service I bought two pairs of glasses (one of them was the pair from the back). This dynamic duo have been in the business for a long time and with their customer service most certainly will continue to have me, and others, for a long time to come. I cannot say enough about the service at the Village Eye Works! I have been wearing glasses since I was about 12 years old and I am now 60, and in all the years of wearing glasses I have never had the customer service that I received at the Village Eye Works! The sweet father and daughter team that own and run this lovely little glasses shop are truly wonderful at what they do. Every-time I have purchased glasses in the past I have gone into an eye glass store and they have handed me a tray and said go find your frames... and an hour or so later I have a tray filled with average looking frames that I may or may not really like. Then the store clerk helps me pick lenses for the frame that I narrow down my selection to and I get the same old glasses I always get. Well not this time! I went into Village Eye Works and was very pleasantly greeted and then actually helped by the father who was very happy to help me look for glasses that fit my face and looked great on me! We were then joined by his daughter who helped us and it turned into a personal shopper experience where they helped me find the perfect glasses for me. I ended up with amazing, fun, colorful glasses and sunglasses that really show off my personality and I am getting compliments everywhere I go! I am a snowbird from Michigan and was visiting Phoenix earlier this month. I accidently broke the frame on my eyeglasses and called my optician in Michigan to get an exact frame replacement. When the new frame arrived I was in need of a local Phoenix optician to swap out the lenses. I searched for local opticians and found the highly acclaimed Village Eye Works. I called them to see if they could help me and of course they would. When I walked in the front door I was greeted by Bob Royden, the former owner of the store, who now works for his daughter who is the new owner. It became very obvious why this company is so successful because Bob was so pleasant and helpful. Ten minutes later my lenses were replaced into the new frames and I was on my way. This store not only has great people working there, but it is a beautiful facility with lots of frames to choose from, in a chic environment. If you are stuck with a broken nose pad 35 miles away from and you find Village Eye Works is within a 1/4 mile do pay them a visit. I had a great experience at Village Eye Works, when the above happened with me and my glasses and i walked into store. The glasses were not from Village Eye Works and I was expecting to pay for parts and labor. Steph was very gracious in helping me and service to be on the house!! It felt very Nice. When I met the owner of Village eyewear and the employees I fell in love with the store, people and glasses they carried. I love supporting small business and nice people. I thought to myself I found my new eyeglass home. After purchasing many glasses from them I ran into a problem with one pair. It was one month outside the year warranty of the glasses, and they said they could do anything to help me. It literally broke my heart to know this business that I loved and supported would not offer any help or support to me when needed. After being a sales woman, for 20+ years, I understand the importance of customer service, and sadly this was not shown at The Village Eyewear. Unfortunately they did not see the "value" of a customer. Being a business owner myself, I ate many costs for my customers but gained so much more from them in the years I took care of them. All it would of taken is a "let me call the manufactuer and see what we could possibly do" but I got... "I'm sorry it's a month outside the warranty" from the owner. I sure hope Bob you rethink your words for your future customers since I've now found a new eyeglass home. One must always remember the loss of future sales and referrals that come with not "trying" to help your customers. read more

Stopped in today to try on a line of frames that the website said Village Eyeworks was a retailer of. After trying on the frames that were VERY expensive but beautiful I asked if the salesperson could do some adjustments for me with my other frames. She reluctantly said yes. A couple of ladies came in and the salesperson who I was working with pushed me to the side and started working with the other customers. She then asked for me to leave my frames and come back later. Um wait a minute I was there first. I know that you NEVER push someone to the side. I then want to buy a eyeglass cleaner and she pushed me off to the other salesperson to ring me up. I was there to buy a new pair of frames with lenses and change existing lenses as well. She lost about 4K of business. read more

This is a WONDERFUL place to get eyeglasses. They are incredibly attentive, truly concerned about getting a frame that fits well and looks good. They also told me when the frames didn't look good...this let me know I could trust them because they didn't try to sell me the most expensive frame in the store. They genuinely wanted me to be happy with my selections. The frames are not the same as you'd find in other stores, like Lenscrafters (no offense, Lenscrafters...you serve a different clientele, though). The quality of the frames and lenses cannot be surpassed. Treat yourself to a great pair of glasses and excellent customer service from Bob and his daughter, Stephanie. From the first telephone call I have received outstanding service from Bob, Ann and Steph. I visited the location on 7th and Bob was very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. Could not decide so left without purchasing glasses. Went to three other shops and ended up at his store on Tatum Blvd several days later. Ann was very patient and I think we went thru the entire store before finding my perfect frame. Both Bob and Ann offered their opinions on the different frames that I tried which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend the boutique to anyone looking for great service coupled with higher end frames. My friend also ended up purchasing a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.
