I've been on the hunt for a good ramen spot--and after a few disappointing tries, I finally found it. Osaka Ramen and Sushi really exceeded my expectations. I ordered the spicy umami miso ramen with tofu, karaage, and a soft-boiled egg, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. I'll admit I went a little overboard with the add-ons, but I was just too excited and couldn't resist. It's a hidden gem tucked into a shopping center and easy to miss from the main road, but there's plenty of parking and once you're inside it's much more spacious than it looks. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and everything came out fresh. Prices were very reasonable too, especially for the portion sizes and quality. There's also a wide menu beyond ramen, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more. Before leaving, I grabbed a brown sugar boba milk tea too. With Osaka being less than 10 minutes from my house, when I'm craving ramen, that's my go-to spot. Last month, I stopped in on a Monday and it was practically empty so I found a booth to sit and enjoy. I absolutely love this spot because it's never super busy, the ambiance is nice and the service is always great. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen w/Oxtail and an extra soft, boiled egg. It was served very quickly and it was great. The broth was savory, the oxtail was tender and the noodles were perfect. I ate the entire bowl. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I didn't feel that great. I'm not sure if the pork or oxtail were bad but something did not agree with my stomach at all. I felt awful! We ordered delivery through Uber Eats. We are staying at a nearby campground. When we received our order we discovered we had not received any soy sauce with our sushi. We called and she immediately acknowledged her mistake of forgetting to include it with our order. We asked for them to arrange for some to be delivered. She said not possible. Came on an Easter Sunday afternoon with an empty stomach and left happy and satisfied ! It's been a while since we've been here and they have a new special and boba which is a plus . I usually give my chashu slice away, but when I feel like enjoying it, it has a great chew and flavor that you'd expect from your slice of braised pork. The sushi is always reliable, but I prefer their nigiri. Salmon isn't overly chewy. The tuna has a great texture when you sink your teeth into it. The shrimp tempura rolls have a lovely eel sauce on top. The volcano roll is the perfect size. Any roll and any nigiri is a safe bet here. If they are out of something like one of the sakes then our waitress was helpful in recommending another sake. Her description with perfect. Because these days restaurants have been out of things. This place was such a great find. It was a rainy cold day out in VA Beach so we needed a nice hot bowl of ramen. Saw all the great reviews and decided to give it a try. We had the nicest server who helped with making our final selections. They have a wide range of ramen and sushi. We went with the Ox-Tail ramen (sooooo good), the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen, and the Jalapeño roll. I absolutely loved my Ox-Tail ramen. It came with the yellow noodles, which are a bit thicker and chewier than the white noodles. I subbed the chicken broth for the spicy pork broth. You can also sub the type of noodles. The broth has so much great flavor and the oxtails were both tender and well seasoned. My only complaint (not real complaint) is that they only give you 2 oxtails. I needed more. Lol. Still worth the $17. Everything else we ordered was great. I'm not a sushi fan, but the jalapeño roll looked yummy and was told it was really good. Great find in VA Beach. Why can't there be a 10/10? Osaka Ramen is just great all around. Not flashy, no unneeded flair, and no over the top anything that is more just for show. Outstanding food and excellent service every single time. I've had roughly 8 different dishes off the menu and every single one of them has been delicious. The sushi is outstanding and the various other dishes just complete the menu overall. Personally, I would recommend the Katsu Bowl (May have misspelled that).
