One of the best ramen places in the area. I have been here time and time again, and I am never disappointed. I love a classic miso ramen, and this one definitely serves the craving. The appetizers here are fire. We love getting Karaage, fried squid, and kimchi fries. All so delicious. The gyu don always has a lot of meat. The katsudon is good. The katsu curry was yummy with a darker curry base. It is a little on the runnier side, I wish it was thicker. It's not Golden Curry, better than that, so I give a thumbs up. I love that you can get boba with it too! Make sure to take a picture with the Polaroid and place your picture on the wall! It's a super cute small place, very unique and special. I've been a frequent here for the past 6 years. Recently I noticed customer service is lacking but it's a place my kids enjoy so I try to just let it not bother me. Last week I went and was told "nothing will be available anytime soon. " I said it was fine and we'll wait because we had friends who were with us and it was there first time. I asked what was the estimate wait time and the girl was just rude walking back and forth and said, "idk maybe 45-1 hour but I can't guarantee anything!" I then walk over to sit down and see her sit a group the same exact size as ours. I go up and ask her did the wait change and she states, " no I didn't know what you were doing so they got seated before you!" Which my party and I were genuinely confused because we never stated we weren't waiting. This day we left and ate elsewhere. Fast forward to yesterday around 2:15 we arrived and wasn't greeted just was advised we close at 3. I said that is fine, we knew what we were ordering. I had a friend meeting us and which I ordered for her and she arrived approximately at 2:29. When she arrived they advised her they were not taking any more orders. As we sit and they bring our ramen, I notice something crawling on the floor and I talk a closer look and it was a roach!!! I immediately advised everyone with me there's a roach on the floor. We look and see another one under the table. Obviously loosing our appetite, I tell the waitress we just saw roaches and we're grossed out. She casually says, " oh I'm sorry about that." and stated she would get someone to handle it. No one ever came over and then she walks back up and asks, " are you not gonna eat your food?!" I explained we were not and that we were disgusted after seeing the roaches. She looks as if she's offended. I said I'll pay for our drinks but we didn't touch our food and did not want it after seeing the roaches. She was quiet and rude. No one ever addressed the situation at all and they were starting at us as if they were offended that we pointed out the roaches. We never come back! The lack of customer service was one thing but to see two roaches is another. Completely unacceptable and unsanitary. read more

Hi friends! Long overdue review for me; I've eaten here at least 5 times over the years and so i owe them their flowers. What's good: plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall, a wide variety of options on the menu so if you like choices you have plenty! The dine IN experience is good the food is amazing and portion size is appropriate. It's a small space inside, but if you've spent time in Japan it's accurate and makes the experience more authentic. I even like the homey decor highlighting the patrons with Polaroids of people enjoying their dinner all over the foyer area. I even like the bathroom decor of superheroes in ways you wouldn't typically see them (iykyk). What prompted this review is the take out experience. I felt like the take out portion wasn't the same quantity as the dine in experience by a noticeable degree. So if you plan on eating there- eat in! Everything was still very good as it always has been, which is why i wanted more than i got . Regardless I will def be back and enjoying what they have to offer! read more

As I was craving ramen on a Wednesday evening, I decided to venture out and try Kappo Nara Ramen since I saw nothing but great reviews about this place. I was seated right away and given a menu...after a few minutes, I knew exactly what I wanted to order lol. Janelle, my amazing server, assisted me in choosing a green tea so I decided on the Mango Green Tea, which was refreshing and thankfully not too sweet. For starters, I decided on the Rice Balls which were filled with cooked salmon, covered with rice, wrapped in seaweed and formed in a triangular shape! The Rice Ball was very filling and since I wanted to enjoy my ramen, I only ate one. I chose the Spicy Miso Ramen which had a miso base with pork broth and chili oil. It included boiled eggs, bean sprouts, bamboo, spicy ground pork, scallions and seaweed. I added a slice of pork belly as well! Absolutely delicious! 10/10!!! The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the soup broth was savory and rich with flavor. The bamboo added some texture and a slight sweetness and the pork belly slice was the perfect addition. I literally ate the entire bowl!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kappo Nara Ramen and absolutely loved the vibe this restaurant gave. From the soft R&B music playing in the background to being able to view all of the Polaroids lined up on the walls of previous customers enjoying their ramen, I will definitely be returning. My server, Janelle, was also amazing and I loved that we had a chance to chat, she was super sweet. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for amazing ramen and good vibes. read more

'Twas the night before Thanksgiving and Ramen was on the menu! There was quite a bit of a wait, which told me that the food would be worth it! It took a little time to receive service after sitting, but the place was busy. This gave us a chance to study the menu options and look at some of the pictures on the wall. I love a place that celebrates their customers, and using Polaroids to capture the moment is such a cool idea. We definitely added to the collection! The tables were pretty close together so private conversations probably wouldn't work but it's great for socializing! The food came out in a decent amount of time. This was my very time trying ramen ever. I decided to go here and give it a try. As I entered the restaraunt I noticed the ambiance and the decor of the place was beautiful! All over it had pictures of previous smiling customers scattered all over the restaraunt. I thought this was sooo cute! I definitely would like to take a picture next time to place on the wall for memories! Since it was my first time trying ramen, the server politely recommended me different things to try. All of it sounded so good! Since I am a fried chicken lover - I decided to go with the Fried Chicken Ramen. It was soo tasty. The broth was flavorful and the bowl was so delicious! It was a huge portion - I couldnt finish it all in one sitting. But hey! Thats what to go boxes are for lol ! I also got the strawberry slushie as a beverage. After several attempts to have pho for lunch, I settled on ramen from Kappo Nara Ramen. Looking back, I am glad that my pho lunch plan did not work out because this place is pretty awesome. Also, it might be my new go-to spot for ramen. The service was pretty top-notch because my waiter (a young fella with orange/blondish hair) always made sure that I was taken care of. For my dining pleasure, I went with a tonkotsu ramen, which was absolutely delicious. I'm kind of sad that it was so delicious because I'll probably order only this dish for future visits and not try any of the other ramen bowls. You know, if it ain't broke don't fix it. While the ramen was packed with plenty of yummy ingredients, I wish that I had known that before adding the spicy ground pork because it was so much food. Just as an FYI, the spicy ground pork is pretty spicy. All in all, I definitely look forward to returning to Kappo Nara Ramen in the very near future. read more

The shallots really kicked it up a notch for me... I also ordered a pork cutlet with rice and a side salad. Everything came to about $32. Not to bad!!! They were nice and friendly when i picked up the order. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes ! Everything was wrapped up pretty securely.. In the past my broth spilled before i got home and that's what i wanted the most... Lol. Ugh... I cried a little.. So i appreciate the clear wrap over the cup and food.. Thumbs up for that!! The ramen was pretty good. I love the corn and crunch of the different textures. The spicy miso is delicious, but if your a punk for spice, be warned its got some kick.. Lol. It hits me in the back of my throat every time.. But that's the good stuff... Lol.. It will clear your sinuses every time!! I enjoyed it, but i did add garlic and some other seasonings because it was slightly bland... It really elevated the taste and i enjoyed it. The pork cutlet was pretty good also. As you walk in you get the authentic hole in the wall vibe like the restaurants in Japan and Korea. Highly decorated with cute trinkets and walls plastered with mini Polaroids of patrons. Very busy in there on a Thursday night. Waiters seem to want to get you in out when it's busy. That's how I felt as they kept wanting to clear the plates/bowls and kept askin if we needed anything else. They were friendly either way. The ramen was OK... my friend was agreeable. it didn't come out hot. The broth was a bit bland. However I was impressed that the chicken katsu stayed crispy even while soaking in the broth. 2nd visit and again left as a very happy customer. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Mackerel and Onigiri w/Ume. The Tonkotsu was delicious, the ramen egg had a perfectly silky yolk. The Chashu pork was tender, flavorful and not too thinly cut. The Mackerel was lightly salted with a crispy skin! We ordered several appetizers, only half came out before our ramen. The ramen wasn't anything special. Definitely loaded down with toppings, in a quantity over quality sense. As for the appetizers: unless you like butane flavor, do NOT order the Ika Sugatayaki. They char it with some sort or butane torch or something which completely overpowers the flavor of the squid. We also ordered the Corrokke, which was supposed to have potato, corn, and scallion. It was basically a deep fried mashed potato cake. No corn, no scallions. Even though I only come for the ramen :) The place is nice and it is conveniently located right next to a bubba tea place. The space is nicely decorated and would look at home if we were in Japan.
