Great local Parrish spot. Our kids love coming here. The tuna roll portions and so large. That's our son's favorite. We get 2 orders for him regularly because he loves them so much. If you ever are in the mood for good sushi you have to visit Osaka on Ty 301 in Parrish. The food is very fresh, delicious and just amazing. We've been eating sushi for over 20 years and Osaka is by far our favorite place to go. The menu is wonderful and there are choices for all pallets... even if you don't eat sushi they have amazing hibachi. Service is excellent. The beautiful thing about the service is that everyone is personable and they help each other so you don't have to wait for a while to get your order. The ambiance is lovely, clean, cozy, welcoming and cheerful. If you live far away from Parrish, it's definitely worth a drive. Try it. This was our first time eating here, as they had just opened this weekend. The restaurant is very small, with limited seating options. We were in a group of 4 and got seated in a booth. For appetizers, I ordered a house salad, and everyone else got soups. My salad arrived well after everyone else's soups were delivered, and only after we reminded the server. Everyone had the same complaints that their soups were too sweet. For entrees, we ordered crab rangoons and 4 sushi rolls. The rangoons were very light on filling, and one of our rolls was incorrect. We had ordered the T Rex, but they mistakenly brought us a Key West roll. When we notified the server, he asked if we wanted the roll we had ordered or wanted to keep the Key West. We obviously wanted the roll we ordered, or we wouldn't have brought it to his attention. The rest of the rolls were a mixed bag, some were alright and others were pretty bad. One of them was completely smothered in mayo, and almost inedible. After all these issues, no one from management came by to speak with us or apologize. We were excited for them to open after watching the construction for several months, but unfortunately, they did not live up to our expectations. We went to Osaka Sushi & Grill for dinner on a Saturday evening. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I've eaten at two other Japanese restaurants in the area (one in LWR and the other to the west in Bradenton). This restaurant is on par with both of the other Japanese restaurants that I've been to. Just ok... sushi was fresh but the steak and shrimp in the hibachi were drier than the Sahara and tough as nails.. like chewing on your rear tire...service was ok even though we had to ask for plates to eat on.. place itself is cute and clean.. not sure if I'll be back right away... The restaurant is clean and atmosphere is good. I was hoping for good sushi and chicken Phad Thai. The sushi we ordered a rainbow roll, Mexican Roll, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. The ingredients are good and fresh but the sushi was not put together well at all. The rice layer was so thin you could see the seaweed. Compared to sushi in the area it is a bit small as well. Making sushi it's critical to find the right balance of rice and for sure it was lacking. The Phad Thai was over cooked. The bean sprouts should only be slightly cooked so it was missing that freshness and crunch. The taste was there so just a small change and it will be good. Osaka just opened last week so it's understandable that there will be some kinks to work out. We tried to go there on the the 2nd day. It was standing room only in their tiny waiting area and although we got a table pretty quickly, we didn't see a waiter or waitress for 15 minutes even though the couple seated after us got waited on right away. We left and went somewhere else. We tried again this week with better results. We arrived at 6:10, got seated within 5 minutes and the waiter took our order quickly. We ordered Krab rangoons which were delicious, but the waiter didn't bring us small plates so we could share. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken, which comes with clear soup and salad. The soup and salad were not good so it was probably good that our meals came immediately after. The Pad Thai was OK but the only vegetables were slightly sautéed red peppers. Nothing else. We want to try the sushi when the crowds die down but for now we'll pass. read more
