My husband and I had dinner at JPAN on a beautiful Saturday evening at the end of May, and everything was fantastic. Parking was easy and we sat outside. Our waitress, Bam, was wonderful. She was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely excited about the menu. My favorite little touch was that every time she brought out a dish, she'd set it down and say, "Ta-da!" It was adorable and made me smile every time. We started with the Spicy Tuna Bomb, which was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice, spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeños, and sauces created the perfect combination of flavors and textures. We also ordered the Sushi and Sashimi Combo, a Salmon Lover Roll, a Godzilla Roll, and the chicken fried rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The fish practically melted in your mouth, and the panko-crusted salmon on the Salmon Lover Roll was something I'd never had before and absolutely loved. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. We left full, happy, and already talking about what we'll order next time. The atmosphere is nicely upscale, with attractive décor and plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. We sat at the bar for happy hour. One thing I will say is that the happy hour menu is not very easy to read--it could definitely be designed a little better. The staff was extremely busy, so they came across as a bit short at times, but they were never rude. It was understandable given how busy they were. We ordered the lychee martinis, which tasted a little flat. They weren't bad, but they also weren't particularly memorable. We also tried the spicy salmon bites, and they were very good and flavorful. Looking at the regular (non-happy hour) menu, the prices seemed a bit high, especially considering the portion sizes. Based on what I saw, I don't think I would order from the regular menu. Overall, I'd likely come back for happy hour, but I probably wouldn't return specifically for dinner from the regular menu. read more

Always a solid choice for fresh sushi in UTC! Jpan is one of my go to spots in the area. It is fantastic for lunch because they have great lunch specials, but it is equally good for a dinner out with friends or groups. The atmosphere is lively and fits the UTC vibe perfectly. The sushi is always fresh, and my personal favorite is the sashimi plate/small boat. It never disappoints. One of the best parts about the location is that you can walk around the mall area afterwards and enjoy the Florida weather. For dessert, we usually walk right next door for frozen yogurt or grab a scoop at Jeni's nearby or Crumbl for some amazing fresh cookies. Highly recommend! read more

Had an overall good experience here and would recommend with some honest caveats. Pros: they have a designated gluten free menu and are very knowledgeable about gluten allergies. This was much appreciated. The servers were also so sweet and helpful. The two roll lunch special was a decent deal based on their regular menu. Cons: it's incredibly loud even at lunch with few people there. The sashimi lunch special is advertised with a roll but really it's just two pieces with no rice wrapped in cucumber and 8 pieces of fish. This was over priced and not at all what we expected. We expected a proper 4-6 piece sushi roll with rice. Would definitely not order that again! Overall decent food, great gluten free menu but over priced for what you get. read more

My partner and I decided to come here for dinner as it had been a few months since we were last here and have always enjoyed our time. It wasn't very busy however it was a week night. We were sat promptly outside by request, and when looking at the menu there were some discrepancies with the menu pricing as you can see in the pictures. They've clearly gone up on their prices, for example a sweet potato roll originally being $8 now is $10. Most of the specialty rolls are nearly $20 each or more now as well. We both ordered spicy tuna rolls and I got also a sweet potato roll and he got the Mexican roll, all were delicious! Our server was also frequently refilling our beverages and checking on us which was nice. All in all still a very good sushi place however I think the increasing prices will deter us from coming as frequently. read more

Came here for dinner while the holiday parade was happening and the food was delicious. My bf had a sushi roll and I ordered the beef bowl. They also have interesting cocktails to try. The only problem we had was that our server was extremely slow and kept forgetting to bring things like utensils, water, napkins, and the soup that came with my meal. Both had great flavor and the meat was very tender in both. Shrimp Tempura entree had ample shrimp and a good amount of accompanying vegetables tempura. Had the Salmon Lover Roll, which came with lightly fried panko salmon atop each roll. You can tell that was cooked to order. Overall, a great experience, and highly recommend. read more

I ordered the Omakase and it was out of control. Great. I spent a month in Japan and this would match up to anything I had over there.

Jpan has upscale atmosphere with a nice patio, though the lighting at night could be improved. The specialty sushi menu was quite unique, but the dragonfly roll was too heavily sauced for my taste. Our server was attentive and had good recommendations on sake. Wagyu nigiri on special was incredible, worth the hefty price tag in my opinion. The restaurant featured indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoors since inside was a bit loud. Outside was lit by a nice small lamp on the table. Our food was amazing. I highly recommend the Wagyu nigiri. The waitress same a seared it with a torch table side. It was AMAZING. The hamachi was also fantastic. The fried rice had amazing flavor. The key west sushi roll was tasty but needs a little more crunch in texture. The dragonfly roll was a bit spicy and very saucy and hard to pick up. JPan Sushi n Grill was an unexpected delight! We originally had reservations elsewhere but stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to cancel our plans--and we're so glad we did. We started with edamame and ordered several sushi rolls (California, Mexican and Crunch roll) along with vegetable fried rice, which was hands down the best I've ever had--so flavorful and delicious. We love this spot. The service is always excellent, the location convenient and seating is available inside or outside on the patio. Our lunch was perfect with two rolls & a salad for me at $15, and a special roll Alfa Roll for my wife. The ambience is terrific with a more warm and relaxing back bar room and the main sushi area in front. Parking can be a challenge anywhere in the UTC mall so just be patient or walk a bit! read more

A very nice surprise! I'd been wanting to try this spot for the longest time and my mom and I finally stopped in on a Saturday night. We came in around 6:30 and did make a reservation, but it honestly maybe wasn't even needed since we were seated right away. I will say though that there's limited seating inside, and in the summer months making a reservation is likely a safe bet. We ordered a couple signature rolls, a traditional eel roll, and some sashimi, and it was all SO good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was fairly laid back. Browsing through the rest of the menu we some fried rice and udon dishes which sounded super tasty, so needless to say we'll be back in the future! read more

We weren't actually planning to eat here for lunch this past Sunday. Kitchen Social was out first choice but they were packed with over an hour wait. So we decided on JPAN AND so HAPPY we did! First time visiting - will be back. Will be our first choice in the future. Food was amazing and service was incredible!!! Bam our server crushed it! Ambiance was perfect! Tried this place on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner and was blown away!! We ordered the Hamachi Chili and Tuna Pizza appetizers, and I'd highly recommend both. While I wasn't expecting much from the Tuna Pizza it was everyone's favorite, a perfect combination of spice, citrus, and fresh tuna. As for the sushi we ordered, none of us could declare a clear winner. Each bite tasted slightly different, causing us to rearrange our sushi rankings multiple times. All of the roles we ordered tasted fresh and provided a variety in flavor. As for the ambiance, it's a nicer casual spot facing the shops at UTC. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air! Great place for sushi and other Japanese-fusion items. My wife loves the sushi, she has the Alfa roll and the spicy tuna. I usually get the volcano chicken with fried rice and both are delicious. Entrees come with soup and salad which are also tasty. Only thing we had that was disappointing was the pork buns. Compared to others that we've had, they were low quality. Taste wasn't quite there and overall presentation was lack luster. Service and staff were great and the restaurant itself is clean with a comforting atmosphere. read more

In addition to a couple of non-sushi dishes we ordered which were good, we ordered a couple of traditional rolls, no frills, sauces etc. which to me is the litmus test for any place that serves Sushi. The portion of fish included in the traditional rolls was limited resulting in more of a "rice" roll vs tuna, yellowtail etc. Raising the bar here would definitely make this five star. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, we had the dog, so we sat on the porch. We got absolutely no grief about the dog, which was nice. In fact, they brought a bowl of water. The store was kind of busy, when we mentioned we needed a gluten-free menu, they brought one out quickly. And then the server brought out a bottle of gluten-free tamari soy sauce without us even asking. That's great service. The food came out properly, it was well Prepared. The prices for a bit on the high side, but pretty much average for that area. The parking is kind of a mess, but that's not the fault of the restaurant. My one beef is that there is only one single women's bathroom, and that is not enough for a restaurant of this size. I ended up waiting 15 minutes to get in the bathroom due to the line. Been here with my father twice now. One reason that we come here with my family and friends is that they have ramen. That is good and bad in my opinion. The ramen is just so so. We can have better ramen at Fushi Poke or at the newly opened JA Ramen and Curry. May be it was due to the fact that it was Monday evening, the table service was off and and on the slow side. The food quality overall I believe is somewhere between 3 and 4. There are days that are close to 4 on the food, and there are days like today that is 3 at best. Nevertheless, we will continue to come here with a small group because it is close to where we live on the east side of I-75. So it is more of a convenience than the food quality that draws us here. read more
