Ok, firstly- CUTE PLACE!! quaint and friendly! it was clean and quiet. My SO took a page out of my playbook here (which of course made me laugh) because we couldn't make up our minds. Oddly enough, we didn't try the ramen (i wore my hair down and didn't want it dragging in my soup.... but next time!!) we ordered the pineapple chicken fried rice (excellent!!) , the orange chicken (good, but was better left over as the flavors had a chance to marinate), the honey walnut shrimp (potentially the best i've ever had!) and the singapore noodles (also great!! he loves curry and had never had them!) Simply Ramen is one of the most consistent restaurants I've experienced here in Albany. Specifically, when it comes to their Ramen. I get the Spicy Chili Ramen. Sometimes double the wontons which are delicious. It's a generous portion that can feed 2. I've also ordered the Singapore Noodles which are quite good. The other items have been just ok. Their tempura and dumplings. And the Spicy Shrimp and Broccoli was a total miss for me. The sauce very meh and the shrimp overcooked. We have been here a few times when driving up or down I5 and it is consistently good. I have gotten the fried rice twice and to me it is perfect. The service is always good and you can hear the clanging of the person cooking your food on the wok (not a bad thing). They have a powerful fan so you don't walk out smelling like all the food. We came up here for business from Grants Pass (where a decent ramen bowl is nowhere to be found!) We knew we wanted some delicious ramen, and noticed this place had good ratings so decided to take a chance. This is a teeny little place, but we were seated right away. Place looked clean and organized, and the waitress was helpful. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen, my husband the regular tonkatsu and our daughter got the curry chicken and rice dish. I could have handled even more spice, but it was spicy enough for the family when they tasted my lunch, so I think I'm just very used to spiciness! The chashu pork was super soft and fatty (love fatty pork!) the hardboiled egg in it was literally the most delicious thing. We decided on take out and wow- the food is extremely high quality, generous portions and nice ingredients.
