This used to be one of my favorite restaurants when it first opened, but I moved away for five years. Now that I'm back, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. My food was amazing, my service was great, and my cucumber roll was about half the price of Aomatsu. So I highly recommend and will definitely be back. I noticed recently that The Show was on DoorDash, living in Albany I thought why not. I got the exotic roll and the lo mein chicken. The roll was okay, kinda on the small side. The Lo mein, was mostly all noodles a few pieces of chicken but that was it. Like I said it's just okay, not someplace I'd want to order from again. But, it looks like a lot of people really like it. I'm still on the look out for homemade Chinese food in the area. So far Panda Express is the best which is crazy to me. read more

We had a very authentic meal both Chinese and Japanese. Wonderful potstickers (pork), wontons with red chili broth and cilantro, and egg rolls. I ordered nigiri sushi for delivery. First off they do their own deliveries so ordering out isn't so damn expensive. The nigiri is so affordable I was so delighted. There's a great variety of choices. The fish is fresh, quality and a generous slice on each piece. The creamy scallop was heavenly, the white tuna melted in my mouth. All the other tunas, yellow tail, red tunas were so good and the salmon as well. For some reason their rolls which are also 2 pieces are more expensive so the nigiri made sense to me. I haven't tried their meals so I can't comment on them. I highly recommend The Show. read more

Wow! The teriyaki chicken was so fresh! Everything we had was so good! The gyoza was the perfect combination of fried and steamed. My son, who is a gyoza connoisseur at this point said it was the best gyoza he has had in Lincoln County. The cucumber salad was so flavorful as was the Miso soup! So close to my work. Looking for a place to get lunch and I walk outside and see this restaurant called The Show where I actually don't have to drive to. Ok so I'm a shrimp kinda guy. Everything shrimp. Got there shrimp fried rice and actually it was really good. (Big shrimp!) Shrimp with noodles. Fried prawns and well sweet and sour shrimp. The sweet sauce is on the side. But I do like squid and octopus too. Actually I don't have a picture cause everything was in boxes. But that don't matter in a box for lunch or a dinner plate, just go and try it. I actually go there a few times a month. The food is really good and tasty. The service has always been super there. Friendly and quiet atmosphere and clean. This is the best Chinese food I've found in the area. Everything I've had has been good. I like the orange chicken, vegetable lo mein, strings beans and garlic and crab puffs are delish. For some reason I thought the sweet and sour shrimp would not be breaded. It was a little too thick and doughy for me. Other than that it's been pretty consistent. We moved to Albany from Tigard, Or, and have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant to replace our old favorite (Wu's Open Kitchen- if you're ever in Tigard). We've spent the last year trying different restaurants to come up disappointed, till now! The Show is the best Chinese food we've had in the Albany/Corvallis/Salem area, and would highly recommend!! Favorites: Potstickers, Crab Puffs, Pork Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Cashew Chicken Full Descriptions below! -------- Pork Potstickers: Homemade, pan-fried, stuffed to the brim with meaty filling. One of my all-time favorites Crab Puffs: Super rich cream cheesy goodness. Pork Fried Rice: Simple with a subtle buttery deliciousness. I'm sure their house fried rice is bomb, too. My bf just doesn't love shrimp. Sweet & Sour Chicken: Dished with the sauce on the side when it's take out (which is ideal!!). The chicken is perfectly deep fried puffy pieces with a great chicken to batter ratio. Also, not oily. Cashew Chicken - one of my all-time fav dishes that isn't available at all Chinese restaurants. If fried, you can't tell. It's a perfect texture in between fried and not, with a more marinated flavor. This one is packed with carrots, mushrooms, and a crap ton of celery. I'll be honest, I hate celery, but I love Cashew chicken. Personally, I'd probably order it light on the celery in the future, or without it, but the chicken is so worth picking through the celery for. Not a fan: Broccoli Beef - I normally find hit or miss at restaurants. This one was a miss for me. They nailed the texture (saucy- not gloopy), but it was very peppery in flavor. A lot has changed since I left Corvallis 24 years ago. I remember we had a handful of Chinese places and they were of the old school variety. Now I come back here and there is new place all over including this one I had never been to. Came here with the family so was able to try several things including the beef brisket noodle soup and the stir fried noodles places. All were big portions and excellent. It was so hard to choose because there was many good options on the menu. Looking around at other plates from other tables I could tell that I would have equally been happy with other choices. This place seems to be a combo of ordering at the counter and table service. I think the place is small enough to where if they see someone sit down the guy can just pop out from behind the counter and take our order. I am looking forward to visiting my parents again so we can all come back here. read more

The Show is just that: a show for the tastebuds. This place is solidly authentic, offering up lots of comfort foods that bring back so much nostalgia to me. Light and satisfying fried pork, mouth-numbing mapo tofu, crispy sesame balls, savory beef broccoli, perfectly spicy pan-fried squid... I could go on and on about how many great Chinese options they have on the menu. So why 4 stars? This place is great for someone who wants to dip their toes into authentic cuisine, but I feel like places such as Yummy Yummy which is a few minutes away offer a more diverse palette of flavors and authentic experiences at a more affordable price. By no means is this a discouragement, as they're both great restaurants with amazing food, but it's hard to be a perfect restaurant. It's so close to being perfect, though. I ordered orange chicken, bottled water, egg rolls and crab puffs. The food arrived in about 30-35 minutes. There was a lot of moisture in the bag - possibly from cold water in bag with hot food? The orange chicken was pretty good but only had 3 little pieces of broccoli and tasted like dark meat chicken. The crab puffs just had a little bit of filling. Had been here in person, order takeout/delivery many time. It was quite good until today. Order delivery online from their website. They don't support card payment. (I have no idea why buy just don't have the opinion.) My bill is $32.15 including delivery fee and I only got $40 cash. Since they only have cash payments, I thought they will carry cash for change. *I know I can order on yelp or doordash etc and they will offer card payments, I tried but it's not a full menu, they don't have what I want to order. The delivery is quick, I will give you that, but the delivery guy doesn't have any change. He handed me the food when I asked "do you have change?"Then I turned my head to get the cash. He answered no and then tried to take back the food, didn't say anything. Dude I still need to feed my family.... So I just gave him $40 and told him to keep the rest. And then dinner time! Food doesn't look good as usual. I ordered the Singapore Style Rice Stick, and Beef Brisket Rice Set. The noodles was very very dry, and you can see the seasoning on one side of the noodles like they didn't bother to stir fry it. The beef brisket was salty than before, and not even has one piece of veggies in it. If I remember correctly they have vegetables in it before, as their picture shown. Usually I will tip about 30-40% when I dine in, 10-15% for delivery. I don't mind to tip more but I just feel like the food and the service doesn't deserve this much today. The ambiance needs work, but the Sichuan dishes are out of this world. Fans of numbing/hot Sichuan Pepper (花椒) should definitely check out the Chongqing Chicken or their fish or the Hot & Spicy Dry Pots. Grandma's potstickers are delicious, too. You could get American Chinese food or sushi here, and I'm sure their fine, but these are not worth a trip from Salem to have. Their Sichuan food is! read more
