Ther is a two-hour window for appointments. I waited the two hours at my condo and no one showed up. No communication. No answers to repeated phone calls. 10 minutes after the two-hour window closed, I get a phone call saying they were at the condo entrance. When i told them i left, they said, "Traffic was really bad." When I asked how bad traffic prevented them from communicating with me, they just mumbled something incoherent. Unprofessional. Horrible customer service. Cancellation, then reschedule, then no show. I scheduled an appt to have my Maytag washer repaired a little over two weeks ago. Two days before the original appt, they called to cancel and we rescheduled to this morning in a 2 hour window. That window came and went with no arrival from anyone at Mazter. No one called to say they would be late. I called the number on their website 3 times, I emailed them and still response. about two hours after the 2hr window ended, I tried texting that number and got a response from Gary who said he had no record of my appt today. I informed him that I have an email from Veronica confirming today's appt. He said he would ask Carlos if he could get it done today, and of course Carlos had more important things to do, so for a second time they cancelled on me (without notice this time). My laundry pile is at an all time high waiting for this disorganized crew to get thier Sh*t together. And now I'll have to start my search for a new appliance repair company. All different brands, and with each one he was able to successfully diagnose and solve. Issues ranged from refrigerator compressor, oven heating, and dishwasher heating errors. Unfortunately the Asko is well past its serviceable prime (I think it's 18 years old) and the part is no longer available, so it was not fixable. Carlos was very professional, clean, complete in his disassembly and reassembly of the dishwasher (so we could continue using it in its half-broken state), and thorough. UPDATE 2: Although I was worried having the last appointment at 5:00, I got a text from Carlos around 6:00 that he was on his way. He got here around 6:45 and stayed for over an hour, troubleshooting my cranky washer. Before he came over, I made sure it was misbehaving this time so he could see what was going on. He checked the motor, the brushes, all mechanics - and couldn't find anything wrong. He did say after time things like relays can get worn out, but he said if the problem continued, it was most likely the controller board. So, we're on a wait and see. Unlike his first visit, I've been able to run a couple of normal washes after he left. Seems my Blomberg has gotten unusually picky about unbalanced loads and weight so we'll see. Carlos is amazing. Even though he was here late and probably dead tired, he was cheerful and extremely competent in his troubleshooting. I hope I don't have to call him about the washer again, but I do have a couple of other old appliances that need fixing and I'd happily call Carlos to take care of them. UPDATE: The soonest recheck appointment I could get is 11 days from now. Not a happy camper. :( My 2yo Blomberg washer started to be super cranky, refusing to spin. So, I set up an appointment with Mazter, with the soonest about 8 days out. Having a cat in kidney failure and also fostering other cats means laundry every day. I ended up buying a portable washer from OfferUp to tide me over. Right within the window, Carlos gave me a call and showed up on my doorstep with his gear. He put on booties and wore a mask, which made me happy. Of course, the washer did not misbehave while Carlos was here; either that or actually running it with clothes inside makes a difference. He was here for probably 1/2 hour or so, running it empty through a few cycles, and said it didn't seem like anything was wrong, told me how to do a reset and went on his way and told me to call again if it's still broken. Of course, the first load I try to run, it starts being cranky again. Tried the reset Carlos told me about which appeared to do nothing. Took a video. Texted to the number that sent the appointment reminder. Texted it to Carlos. Called and left a message for Carlos. And called the main Matzer number, which is completely automated and humanless, which immediately kicked me out and texted a link to my phone to set up an appointment online. APPOINTMENTS ARE ONLY MADE ONLINE. So now I guess I'll wait another week or so before Carlos can come out again. He did say that if the appliance fails within two weeks, there's no charge for another visit. I just want a washer that works! My Maytag front-loading dryer's water pump stopped working last night (I diagnosed this myself based on YouTube...). Based on Yelp reviews, I went to Carlos's site and found an appointment for 10:00 AM this morning (2-hour window). Carlos arrived with a smile and a mask on, and put on booties to protect my floor. He listened to my description, turned on the machine, and put his ear to it like a doctor... and confirmed it was my water pump. He expertly and carefully removed the front panel and did a few more tests to further confirm, then went to his van to find the replacement part. Carlos came back, replaced the part, and then did a series of ad-hoc tests to make sure nothing was leaking. After that, he put everything back together and made sure it was working to my satisfaction. This was one of the best home service experiences I've ever had. Before tax, parts & labor came to $210. Finally! A 21st century repair company. I don't know why it's so hard for repair people, plumbers, etc to schedule things online. This is one of the first companies that actually does that. I had a dishwasher failing to drain, and I tested all the standard stuff - filter, air gap, etc. Next steps were popping off the lower panel and fiddling with hoses - not something I felt like doing. I was easily able to schedule an appointment online - and Carlos showed up at the stated time on Saturday morning. He quickly diagnosed a drain pump, and the labor cost was only marginally more than the trip fee. Furthermore, the cost of the part was the same as the price as if I bought the part myself online! I was prepared to accept that they might upcharge the part as is typical - but they didn't. I only have one data point, but based on this experience, I would use them again. read more

Ongoing problem with my used older Miele dishwasher. Found Mazter on the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend and saw a final appointment slot so grabbed it just in case they could fit me in, but didn't really expect an answer. Carlos responded right away that he wasn't actually able to come because he was too far away and scheduled a follow up right away. He wasn't able to fully fix it because he needed a part, and then he explained how to do ourselves to save another call and took the time to show us where the problem was and what could be going on. He wasn't able to fix it, but I was more than satisfiedand very impressed with the care and attention and will definitely call them again for anything we need fixed. read more

Dish washer was not working and I had tried everything I found on YouTube. I messaged them on Saturday at 1130 they called back and 1140 and arranged an appointment at 1 pm. Carlos called at 12 50 said he was on the way. I met him at 1 and he started work. Very knowledgeable and fixed the problem in 20 minutes. TLDR: Friendly and competent, but answering service is basically useless and coordination/communication can be understandably but still frustratingly difficult. Also, labor costs under warranty might not be covered because Mazter isn't a preferred contractor for the manufacturer. ----- Mazter appliances is a one-man shop with an answering service. Carlos is very friendly, clearly a hard worker, and appears to know his stuff. On our first call, he was able to schedule us more quickly than any other appliance repair place in town, about two days from our Saturday afternoon call. Carlos came in and quickly confirmed our fears: the compressor was dead on our fridge. He charged us for the visit (creditable toward the repair if we had him replace the part), and let us know that we should get in touch with the manufacturer. I called LG and they collected my information and Carlos's information. They sent him some kind of repair authorization note, and this is where I first had some issues. Carlos's telephone service does not coordinate with him; rather, they take information to relay to him in a one-way exchange, and they fill his digital calendar with calls. Calls back never yielded the same person twice, and they cannot give you any information because they don't have any. After several calls over the course of a week, I finally got a response via SMS from Carlos. From then on, I communicated with him via text to see if the part had come in. It appears that, from a later call with LG, it took Carlos a few business days to respond to them. Generally, I try to be understanding; I know Carlos must be busy with visits and repairs. This was an issue for me, though, as LG were 'backordered' on the part and needed to ship it from abroad. Three business days of delay meant that the part would not ship until the following week, leaving us without a fridge for seven days beyond what might have happened had Carlos responded more expediently. When the part finally arrived, Carlos quickly and efficiently completed the replacement. He charged us for labor and mentioned that we would have to work with LG to get the labor cost covered. He also left us with the old part--it's not super cheap or easy to dispose of a 20 lb hunk of metal when you have a weight limit for your trash. LG told us that because Carlos was not a preferred repair shop, they would not reimburse us. I escalated and worked something out, but be aware that this could be an issue. Carlos never said anything explicitly to the contrary, but it does feel like an intentional omission in retrospect. Lastly, our fridge started buzzing after Carlos left. It works fine but the noise was annoying, so I had to pull out the fridge and remove the back cover plate. I found that one of the screw holes was stripped and no longer held the plate tightly--I don't know if this was Carlos's fault or an existing problem. Also, his installation of the compressor left a crimped piece of tube resting against the cover plate, so whenever the fridge ran it would buzz. A gentle push on the piece bent it into clearance, but I wish I hadn't had to do that myself. It took us four weeks to get our fridge running again, plus a little of my own elbow grease. The experience could have been better, but overall I'm somewhere between "neither satisfied nor dissatisfied" and "moderately satisfied" with Mazter. read more

Carlos came to diagnose a dryer problem. We had assumed it was a temperature sensor issue but he realized there loose connections causing air and moisture to blow inside the dryer. He took the dryer apart, fixed the internal issue and improved the vent connection from the dryer to the wall. Very honest and efficient. The only positive thing I can say is that the technician arrived on time for the appointment. I had an F9 Heating Error with my LG electric range, which I had already described when booking the service call. The tech did not even look at the oven, but instead fumbled with his voltage meter and suggested that my 240v outlet was only generating 110v. I read the same outlet with my voltage meter and got 240v. He told me he couldn't do anything because it was an electrical problem, and charged me a service fee for coming out to misread a voltage meter. I had an electrician come double check the outlet, which is indeed 240v- no problems. Electrician didn't even charge me for the 5min visit. Had to call another appliance tech who came out and replaced my LG thermostat in under 30min- no problem. I had called Mazter because of the great reviews, but my time and money were wasted entirely. Deeply disappointed that a small failure either on the part of the voltage meter, or the tech's ability to read it properly, ended up being so expensive- and I also had to call someone else to do the actual appliance repair. read more

It is really hard to find someone to work on Samsung appliances. I called several business on Yelp until I found Mazter. Mazter made getting an appointment straightforward, and did everything they committed, as scheduled. More details: My $2500 Samsung fridge/freezer wasn't staying cold on the freezer side. Carlos diagnosed it as a compressor issue, that it needed replacing, for ~$500. He had to come back the next day with the appropriate compressor, which he put in as scheduled, and for 3 months so far it's been working like new. Minor gripes: 1) The old compressor (a heavy metal thing the size of a basketball) was left for me to take care of. 2) They just sent me an email that my warranty has expired, but only the labor warranty has - the parts warranty is 6 months. Had a dishwasher issue, got on their Mazter's webpage and made an appointment. Several days later Carlos showed up at the promised time and determined that the dishwasher needed a new pump. It was ordered and a week later installed. Problem fixed. I am very inpressed with the way Mazter handles their business. They are very responsive and uses the latestest technology in sheduling and communiating with their customers. Carlos, however, is the star of the show. It took him no time to figure out what was wrong, order the part while our house and a week later installed it. Was fast and tidy. Our dishwasher was supposed to be one the quietest available. When it was first installed by the dealer it was noisey. After Carlos, the dishwasher is so quite we can hardly tell that is running. Good job Carlos. read more

I had to have my dishwasher and washing machine repaired. Both were newer (less than 5 years old) Whirlpool models. I had put off the dishwasher repair for quite some time due to COVID, but once the washer was on the fritz I knew that I had to get someone to come to my house to take a look. I originally scheduled through the manufacturer who subcontracts to an "approved" repair company, but once I looked up reviews for them, it was made clear to me that they weren't providing satisfactory service (though to be honest, when I called them, the people I spoke to were pleasant, kind, and helpful). In one of the reviews someone had mentioned Mazter Appliances and how they had excellent service. So, I decided to give them a go. The only way to make an appointment is online and the website is very plain jane and almost looks not legit, but I got confirmation via email right away and the day before I got a reminder email about my appointment as well as a couple of text reminders. I was told right away that my repair person would be Carlos Poma. On the day of when he was on his way, I got a text saying he was en route. When Carlos arrived, he was pleasant, considerate (he asked if he needed to remove his shoes), and ready to get to work. He listened to what problems I was having and he confirmed that I had two appliances that were needing repair. He started with the dishwasher and in about 35 minutes figured out the problem - the leak was caused by two cracks in the housing. He informed me that the housing may have a longer warranty and to check with Whirlpool. He sealed it and explained to me that I couldn't use the dishwasher for 24 hours (no big deal). The washer was another story. He told me that the problem was the control board and also that the transmission was not in great shape and I'd get another couple of months out of it. He showed me the price for the control board and told me that it was my choice, but with just the cost and labor of the control board it was going to be pricey and if I also had to replace the transmission that it wasn't really worth fixing and to just get a new washer. There was never any pressure to fix or to replace, he left the decision up to me (he even said that). But it didn't end there. When I asked Carlos what washers recommended, he was honest and gave me his recommendations based on which ones he repairs the least. He gave me recommendations for other household appliances in the home that didn't need repair or replacement. Pricing was what was listed on the website. And because I had two appliances there was an additional charge, but was discounted since it was in the same visit. I felt it was fair and reasonable. Carlos was so helpful and genuine. He was professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him and if I ever need repairs again or have anyone ask me for a recommendation, I'm totally going to send them to Mazter. read more

Our brand new Whirlpool oven was not staying hot when baking. We tried and failed several times with whirlpool customer service to get someone to come out and look at it. Someone from the Appliance Hospital finally came (after a lot of work on my end with whirlpool customer service) and they diagnosed that it needed a new ignitor and they were going to return in a couple days to install it. They ghosted us and never showed up or returned our calls so I reached out to Mazter. I told them what we were told by the Appliance Hospital. Carlos from Mazter brought the ignitor we needed and did trouble shooting to make sure that was the correct way to fix the problem. Carlos was very thorough and kind. He did a great job! When our 12-or-so-year-old fridge died, I called Carlos based on reviews, hoping that he would be able to save us having to buy a new one. He has been out to our place on four separate occasions. The initial price quoted was very reasonable (I had researched the cost of parts beforehand). When replacing the compressor didn't succeed, he returned twice more to work on the unit, eventually identifying the real culprit. It has now been running successfully for the last 48 hours, and I am optimistic that he has fixed the problem. Even if it turns out the fridge is beyond help, I am VERY impressed with Carlos's knowledge, efficiency, ethics, and attention to detail. Given other Yelp reviews pointing out how dysfunctional Mazter is in communications, I am surprised the average rating is not lower. One reviewer lauds the online reservation system. We made our reservation on line, and were given a spot two days later, with Carlos Poma, 2:00pm on a Friday with a two-hour window. The appointment is confirmed by email, and later by an email reminder. We alter our schedules to be free. 4:00pm arrives -- no Carlos. I call. The receptionist appears to have no way to reach Carlos, at least by phone. She does not know Carlos's schedule and she does not even know whether he is working. But somehow she concludes she can fix things - I am to be contacted soon. Another call an hour later, a different receptionist, another run-around. Now it is the next day -- no call to me, no email, nothing. These folks are not professionals. read more
