Go straight to the refrigerator section to pick up a package of Almond Fingers. Irresistable. Finding this was way too easy, so I figured I needed to browse some more. The store clerk escorted me around, telling me about their products and answering all my many questions. She pointed out another favorite Dutch cookie, a crisp cookie great for dunking, shaped like a windmill. This is loaded with a wonderful blend of "Christmas" (my words, not hers) spices, and not too sweet. In case you are wondering, a small package landed in my shopping bag, too. And once home, it passed my taste test with 10/10 stars. In spite of being small, the store also carries a delightful inventory of canned and packaged goods and even some cute, Dutch knick knacks, like blue and white ceramic spoon holders and salt & pepper sets. Jelly beans I think are a staple candy to have in any "Candy Store." Staff was pleasant and ultimately purchased some Dubai chocolate to try. It was very good. There will no longer be a local business filling my family's Christmas fudge order. The once-bright shop is now a dark and dreary place. Most of the candy jars are empty. The shelves are barren.
