Ahhh I love love love Chagee when I get it in Asia but I think that this location missed the mark a bit :( the amber oolong is still sososo good but the jasmine and the ceylon are not as good. I also dont like how they have plastic cups here for some drinks vs the usual chagee cups used in asia. Met up with my wife's relatives for a get-together and we all went to stop by at this tea place called CHAGEE TEA. This tea place is so packed, I guess it's new in the area. We tried their COLD and HOT drinks. The moment my wife tasted the drinks she said it's a very good quality drink, I agree with her we can really taste the tea or the flavor of our drink as described in their menu , both drinks are very smooth, pleasant drinks . Inside there are merchandise for sale that's also available, like tumblers, mugs, bags, blankets etc . I am confused about this place. My go-to tea is Jasmine so I always order it at each place that I try. I asked the worker if they had toppings and she said no and that the concept was just to enjoy tea as it is... I was thinking, okay sure, if you have really good tea then maybe it could work but we ordered a regular jasmine and jasmine milk tea and they were so light that we could barely taste anything. Maybe they don't steep the leaves long enough but it was like water with a hint of tea? I have at least 20 different high quality loose leave teas and ceremonial matcha at home that I can brew and enjoy for the unique flavors and notes, so l guess if I am going to go out for tea, I want something with toppings or a different experience. While it looks nice and aesthetic inside, the teas are basic or even underwhelming. The cashier didn't greet me or anything, but her first words were if I had the app. I said yes, and without hesitation, she said click on the bottom right corner and scan. I like efficiency, but she needed to slow down! I'm not sure if it's been super busy or anything, but I felt rushed. I decided what I wanted and told her I was going to order a Ceylon Milk Tea Latte. She asked what size and I told her a regular size. She showed me the two sizes, but I stuck to my answer. I also ordered a peach oolong tea, sweetened. She put in my order, but both of us forgot to mention the size for the second drink. She asks me after I paid, what size I wanted. It was too late and she tried to correct it and give me a refund. I didn't mind, because, what are the chances I'd like it and wanted more? She ended up not refunding me. I sat and waited for my order. They gave me a bag for both drinks and I grabbed their straws. Their straws were interesting. I went into my car to try out their drinks. After a sip, it's safe to say, thank goodness I never waited in any line to try drinks from this place. To my disappointment, they don't have toppings. My next disappointment is how the drinks tasted; my milk tea latte tastes of only milk and no hints of tea. I tried the peach oolong, and it tastes like water with a tiny hint of peach. No essence of tea. I'm not sure what the hype about this place was, because the tea was not it. Service here was honestly terrible compared to the Long Beach and Burbank locations. And I'm not even going to compare it to the Chengdu, China headquarters location because the difference is unreal. This location could honestly compete for the worst service out of all the Chagee locations I've visited. I came in around 11 AM 5/20/2026 on a Wednesday, and the cashier's attitude was awful. It did not reflect the level of training or hospitality I've experienced at every other Chagee. Every other location has always been welcoming, patient, and caring. Here, it felt like she couldn't care less about my order and was just rushing to move on to something else -- even though nobody was behind me in line. Her tone was rushed and rude the entire time. She kept pushing me to continue ordering before I could even finish speaking. Right after I completed one order, I mentioned there would be 4 total, and the interaction just became even more unpleasant. Overall, it was a horrible experience. Honestly had never heard of this place prior to seeing an opening on social media for their grand opening. So I thought I should check it out. It's located near Ontario Mills mall and in the same Plaza as the Sam's Club. So keep in mind that it can get kind of busy. There's a Dave's Hot Chicken right next door too which always has a line. Needless to say, there's a small parking lot right in front but several spots still available, you may just have to walk. Upon entering I noticed how clean and aesthetic it all was. The ambient lighting, wooden fixtures, and the modern furniture really elevated the experience. The workers were kind and patient in explaining things and providing drinks. There was a bit of a line, but it moved fast. There was a limited menu than even what is available on the online menu. My family opted for the peach oolong tea in the different types (pure tea, iced latte, hot latte, and with lemon). Personally, I loved how refreshing the Pure Tea version was and was not sweet at all. For the latte version, the hot was preferred as it enhanced the oolong taste that was perfectly complimented by the peach. The Peach Oolong with Lemon was the sweetest of the variations, but still refreshing with that citrus taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place! Always a line for the grand opening weekend, we managed to make it in time for the first 200, at around 180 in line, it took a few hours before opening to line up, and then another 2 hours to be serviced - since it was a windy and cold day outside, it was a little bit of harsh conditions to be waiting in line for so long. Once we were in, the restroom was relatively clean, the service was also prompt from order to drink pick up took another 15-20 minutes or so, which allowed us to grab the merchandise. Since there was a person standing by the door, allowing people in, it wasn't overly crowded inside. There was actual amble seating even though, a lot of folks crowded by the drink pick up counter. The BOYA Jasmine Green Tea latte combo I got with oat milk tasted light and refreshing.
