Holy wowzers. I live 45 minutes away, but happened to be in the area. My friend and I found this place on Yelp and decided to pop in for a quick bite and caffeine boost. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the Spanish latte, a strawberry croissant, and 6 dog treats. My friend ordered the Xoco latte, jalapeño turkey croissant, and some miscellaneous goodies. Let me start by saying I do not like strawberries. Sometimes they're sweet. Sometimes they're tart. I can't stand the unpredictability. However, it looked so good I had to try it. I planned to remove the fruit. But after giving it a shot, I devoured it all in one sitting. For a snack it's the perfect size. If you're hungry, I'd say order a second item. The lattes were both delicious. I had a bite of the jalapeño turkey croissant and that was flavorful and flakey. I was honestly expecting it to be a little dry or need some sauce, but I'm so glad I was wrong. We found street parking easily. I will absolutely be back just to have that croissant again.
I stopped by Mestiza Coffee first thing on a Sunday when they opened and decided to order their Spanish latte. It was really good! If you enjoy a strong coffee flavor, you'll like this one because the espresso really stands out instead of being overly sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop has a nice, welcoming interior, and they offer a great selection of pastries and cakes to go with your drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The customer service was friendly, and my order was made quickly. One small pet peeve of mine is that they didn't personalize the cup with a logo , but that's a minor detail compared to the quality of the coffee. The only other thing to keep in mind is that they are card only and do not accept cash. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back to try more of their drinks and pastries.

As i was on my way back to LA I saw this business was conveniently off the 10 Fwy And decided to stop by for a quick coffee break. I ordered their Spanish Latte and sat down inside to send some work emails. Their Spanish Latte was strong and flavorful. I enjoyed how sweet it was while maintaining the strong coffee notes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Strong wifi and cold AC inside is what you can expect inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had music playing but very low volume. Good for people who wanna WFH.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also didn't have trouble finding parking. Plenty of street parking available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself was to busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Quick service and friendly staff. If i'm ever in the Ontario Area again i will definitely stop by Mestiza again!
My son took me to this charming little coffee shop in Ontario, and I absolutely loved it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was warm and inviting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. My coffee was a little on the sweeter side than I usually prefer, but it had a great flavor and was still very enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back. Highly recommend checking it out!

The staff is great, and you'll enjoy your visit!

Mestiza Coffeehouse is located in downtown Ontario. The inside is bright and decorated with plants. It's a very cool and relaxed spot for a quick bite and a coffee. I ordered the iced Xoco Latte, chocolate chip cookie, peanut butter cookie, and turkey/japaleño and cheese croissant. I meant to order the Xoco Cheesecake Latte because that one comes with cheesecake cold foam. I didn't realize they were different. The chocolate taste overpowered the coffee. I think I would have liked it more if it had a stronger coffee flavor. Unfortunately, I did not like their chocolate chip cookie. I felt it was a little dry; however, their peanut butter cookie was great. I've never seen a turkey/jalapeño and cheese croissant. There's always a ham and cheese, so shoutout to Mestiza for this awesome option. I think the layout for ordering was a bit confusing, but otherwise, I thought the staff was pleasant and our orders came out quickly.
Absolutely loved this coffee shop! The coffee was amazing, the food was delicious, and you can really tell they take pride in what they do. Their pastries are baked fresh in-house, and I highly recommend the Turkey Jalapeño Croissant--it was so flavorful! I also tried the Spanish Latte and the Mango Iced Tea, and both were excellent. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. One of the baristas took the time to connect with me, share the story behind the coffee shop, and make me feel genuinely welcome. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their goodies. Highly recommend!
Stopped by today for a hot pumpkin chai latte with a shot of coffee in it, 1/2 sweetness. It was packed with sitting room only at the counter by the front window. The stools are decently comfortable and I appreciate the window ledge you can prop your feet on if the stool's cross bar isn't high enough. Never had a pumpkin latte before to compare to, but this was smooth and creamy and tasty! Glad I only got 1/2 sweetness because it was perfect. My husband bought 4 vinyl records from the little display in the far corner. Local artists also sell their jewelry/ceramics, etc with QR codes to pay by Zelle or Venmo. I took a little walk around the block and admired the various cool murals on the walls! Cool neighborhood!
I've bookmarked this place for a while now and finally got a chance to visit. There's something special about grabbing coffee in a piece of local history. This little cafe is one of Downtown Ontario's historic buildings has so much charm and it leans into Hispanic and Latin inspired flavors in the best way. Service was friendly, prices are great.
Strawberry custard croissants = must buy every time. I've been coming to Mestiza Coffeehouse for years, and the main reason I keep coming back is their strawberry custard croissants. When I first tried them, they were the star of the show, and they still are. Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by to grab a few to take home. Flaky, creamy, fruity--just really well done. I've also tried some of their other pastries, like the strawberry Nutella, everything bagel, and a few other croissants, and they've all been consistently good. They also offer cake slices, which we were excited to try, but those were honestly just okay. Not bad, but my family didn't really care for them, and we wouldn't go out of our way for the cakes the way we do for the croissants. Coffee: Their coffee is good and has its own personality. A lot of their drinks have Latin/Hispanic-inspired flavors and ingredients, and you can taste that influence in the way the drinks are put together. The flavor profiles are unique rather than generic or chain-coffee style, which I really appreciate. Space & Parking: Plenty of seating inside and outside, so it's a nice place to sit, chat, or get a little work done. Parking is easy - there are two small lots plus side street parking, so finding a spot has never been an issue for me. Overall, Mestiza is a solid neighborhood coffeehouse with standout pastries (especially the strawberry custard croissants), good coffee, and a comfortable space. I'll keep coming back for those croissants alone.
11/16/2025 Browsing for some coffee shops in the IE. After reading some reviews and looking at coffee photos, I've decided to check out Mestiza Coffeehouse located in downtown Ontario. CAPPUCCINO Been craving for a really good cappuccino for awhile now, so I was hoping that this place would deliver, but sadly it flopped. The cappuccino was bitter and tasted burnt! The milk foam on top was done well, but it did not help in smoothing out the bitter coffee taste. I took two sips of it and was done with it! When a cappuccino is done wrong, you know you've come to the wrong place. SPANISH LATTE When I asked what their popular coffee was, I was told it would be the Spanish Latte. So I ordered it hot. I know iced coffees are a thing and people always order it iced no matter what, but I think a Spanish Latte always tastes better hot. I thought this latte tasted much better than the cappuccino. I did like that the latte was not overly sweet nor syrupy. It had a good cinnamon flavor that was not overly done too. A nice touch with the fluffy milk foam on top. However, yet again, there was that bitter coffee flavor at the end, which was not a good ending. Someone has to look at their coffee roasters and suppliers! Bad coffee beans = bad coffee. FRESAS SLICE This strawberry cake was delightfully delicious! The chiffon cake itself was moist and fluffy. The vanilla custard and whipped cream was smooth and creamy and not overly whipped! There were a good amount of strawberries inside that gave it a lovely, fresh strawberry burst of flavor that made it even more enjoyable. I would order a whole cake if I could! Delicious from first bite to the last bite! SEATS / TABLES / AMBIANCE As soon as you walk in, all the seating area is on one side. It looked very cramped. I would not even bother sitting there. There were some tables and chairs, but they were all super close together. I felt they could have added more tables and chairs on the other side where the register was. It was packed today too! Inspite of the cramped seating area, the coffee shop had an overall cozy vibe. I think it's the pumpkin Christmas tree that they had. The coffee shop itself is not small, but medium-sized. If they moved some tables around, I think it would look cozier. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. There were two people at the register and they just did their job. They weren't super friendly nor welcoming though. However, the barista was very nice. It looked like he enjoyed his job too. PARKING There were lots of on-going construction around the area and it made it a very unpleasant area to drive. On arrival, it seemed there weren't a lot of parking spots for that area. There are parking spots directly in front of the coffee shop and alongside the store too for street parking. I'm not sure if there were more parking spots, but luckily found a spot directly in front of the coffee shop, so I did not need to look any further.

Welcome back for another episode of Delicious with Zach! Today we tried a Carlotta, Pineapple Drop, Palmiers, Turkey & Cheese Croissant and Monkey Bread Carlotta - 10/10 Absolutely delicious. The texture, the bright lemon flavor, not overly sweet, and full of fresh flavor. Everything was perfectly balanced and on point. Pineapple Drop - 8.75/10 I was expecting the cookie to be a bit drier, but that was just my initial assumption. The pineapple flavor came through nicely and wasn't overly sticky or "tacky." Palmiers - 10/10 Baked to perfection. Flaky, soft, with the perfect amount of crunch. The flavor was beautifully balanced and those sugar crystals were delicious. Felt like I was sitting in a South American bakery. Turkey & Cheese Croissant - 7.92/10 The croissant itself was perfect, the turkey was good, and the cheese was just okay. In fairness, we only ordered this because they were out of the ham & cheese croissants (which we love). If I had never tried the ham & cheese version, this one would probably land in the high 8s or low 9s. Unfortunately, the turkey & cheese just didn't stand a chance against the original. Monkey Bread 10/10 Holy cow! The monkey bread can be described as addictive... the monkey bread is baked with pecans on the bottom, cherries mixed in, cinnamon and a soft dough drizzled with frosting. The monkey bread was so fresh, soft, and full of flavor. The pecans and cherries were perfectly balanced in the monkey bread creating a delicious snack. One last note: We went back up to order more palmiers and the wonderful lady working the counter (Maria) gave us a complimentary one and a monkey bread. Super kind and thoughtful; she actually helped guide us to the carlota as I was wanting a lemon bar or tart and they were out of them. She suggested the carlota and described the taste and she was perfect in Her recommendations. Maria deserves employee of the month! read more
Everything is so fresh, I love the croissants, my favorite is ham and cheese, this time we tried the turkey and cheese since they didn't have the ham and cheese one :( it was very very very good too, the Carlota is a very fresh dessert I would say my favorite summer dessert, the parmeries are just like Ecuadorian orejitas I love this place. Maria the cashier was very nice because we love to take our time ordering and she was very helpful suggesting us the Carlota, since they didn't have the lemon tart, this is very lemon and fresh sweet, the price are fair for the quality. Simply delicious. A bit of windy day here out in Ontario. Had a few min to wander the downtown waiting for my candy tour at Logan's. So happy to have taken their recommendation and came here. Ordered a hot Spanish latte, and iced spice chai with oat milk, and then another with whole milk. My Spanish chai was devine. Felt like a cozy hug, warm with the right amount of cinnamon. My kids said the chai was a bit thick and needed some water added to it. They did say the flavor was a 9/10. This cute establishment is a study spot for many students. Pretty chill vibe! I love checking out coffee shops in the area. This happened to be bookmarked on Yelp because it looked really appealing. Parking is street or a small lot and can be tough because it's very busy. Upon entry, the place has really cool vibes! They had fall decor up and it looked very festive. It looked modern but with a family/cozy feel. The line was long but went by fairly quickly. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was pretty good. After having paid and waiting for my coffee, I stood by a pastry bar and was enticed! I will definitely check out other menu options for beverages and their sweet treats in the future. read more

The service was great! The food was great! The drinks were great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space was great![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I found a table easy. I only docked 1 star. (I wish I could do half a star) But, I did it because, [[HIGHLIGHT]]there was what looked like pet fur and little bits of dust on the utensils they have out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I had to rinse my utensils with the water and cups they provided there. I don't think this their fault at all, but it was definitely something they could improve on. read more

Mestiza Coffeehouse is Spanish Bakery in Ontario, CA comparable to Porto's. There's free street parking and a small lot in front of the location as well as free parking behind the cafe. There's a few indoor tables and outdoor tables as well. The ambiance inside is very clean and family friendly. There is limited seating, so I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 1-2 people, but it's a great place to get work done. The variety of sweet and savory pastries and food options are immaculate, in addition to the diversity of drink options. I've tried the fruit tart, which has a sweet cream and fresh fruits on a perfectly flaky tart shell. The Spanish Latte is also great. It's comparable to the nook's Spanish Latte - a good blend with a nice balance of cinnamon. I also really like the ice that is used. I'd definitely try this place at least once! read more

Cute cafe located in downtown Ontario. Parking was easy to find. Ordered a Spanish latte and it was overly sweet and unbalance. Coffee taste got lost in the sugar/syrup. Overall, prices was good and desserts/cakes looked pretty! read more

Aloha Iced Latte is to die for!!! Been here three times and its the one I ordered. Pasteries are good too. I need to try there other lattes but if you are new try this one!!! If you like coconut and macadamia. FYI parking is a hassle because of construction but thats all of Euclid right now. Service is quick and the ambiance is cute! Lots of plants all around read more
Could this place be BETTER than Porto's?!! Just loved this cute coffee shop and bakery. Did the line and ordered a ham and cheese jalapeño and guava and cheese (both warmed). They were both amazing! Such fresh baked goodness!!! They had lots of cheese and I can see how these things can be addictive. To drink ordered an iced Spanish latte. It was fun to try, basically a latte version of Mexican hot chocolate. Will try their cortado next time. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1 - open EARLIER! Stopped by here for some breakfast goodies after dropping off my BFF at ONT airport. It's located in the historical Frankish building, and was probably a bank building of some sort in the past. When you walk it, it's so cute and feels like a garden greenhouse. You can see the kitchen behind the counter so you know everything is made in house. Lots of beautiful pastries were on display, and I didn't know until later, that around the corner from the cashier is another display full of beautiful cakes - whole and by the slice! I love the speciality drinks they offer, there was so much to choose from (pumpkin chai cheesecake and XOCO Cheesecake?!?! WOW!), but I decided on the Spanish Latte. I sampled several of the pastries when I got home and OMG they are all soo good. Definitely rivals my favorite French bakery. The Spanish latte was also excellent! Now I kind of wish I picked up a cake slice to try too! I'm sure they would all be delicious as well. Saw several Ontario police here picking up food also. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mestiza's is such a cute coffeehouse that is very cozy with amazing service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] it was my first time trying Mestiza's and the baristas were so kind and answered any questions i had. My favorite drink so far is the Xoco Cheesecake Latte which comes with Mexican cacao, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, espresso and cheesecake cold foam! so yummy! i will be coming back again to try the matcha at the sister location next door read more

Loved this spot! The vibe at Mestiza is warm and welcoming, and everyone was so friendly. We ordered the Xoco latte and the Spanish latte, and both were perfect!! Such a great place to hang out, enjoy quality coffee, and feel taken care of. Can't wait to come back! read more
Great vibes, lots of options. The high ceilings add to the mood. There's plenty of seating even outside. It can get crowded. I tried their alfajores and it was divine. A little on the sweet side but it wouldn't be an alfajores if it wasn't. I liked the French Vanilla coffee with heavy cream- it was definitely something that once I grew accustomed to, I found that I really loved. Come for the breakfast food and coffees, bring a friend and gab over pastries. It's an exciting addition to downtown Ontario. read more
Love Mestiza! This is a great coffeehouse, serving more than just coffee. Easy to locate, just off Euclid Ave., passing Holt Blvd. Plenty of parking nearby. This place came highly recommended by my mom and sister, so I brought my sister and kids along with me. The Spanish Latte is highly recommended and is considered most popular by the staff, so I got that iced. They have 2 pastry displays that looked AMAZING! I wish I could have tried every single item. Instead I opted for 2 chocolate chip cookies, the strawberry Nutella pastry, and the jalapeño cream cheese stuffed brioche. The staff offered the option to have everything warmed up and it really made these treats so good! My kids being with me, there was plenty other drink options for them, like apple juice, milk, water, etc. I got them chocolate milk and a bottled water for my post-coffee drink. Everything came in just under $30, which I felt was a reasonable price for the quantity and quality of everything I got. The Spanish Latte was very, very delicious. A bit on the sweeter side, but that's how I like my latte. If you prefer a more bold flavor, I would recommend to modify your level of sweetness. If there was any criticism I could make, it would be the boldness of the espresso. That could just be because I'm used to having strong coffee, like Café Bustelo and dark French roast. But my preference does not negate that the coffee here really is good. My favorite part of this entire visit was the shop itself. It's cute, it's hip. Mestiza IS that girl. The culture of a good cafecito and something sweet (or savory) is an experience by itself. Definitely recommend! read more

Service: service was quick Food: ordered a strawberry nutella Danish- my favorite and worth every cellulite simple! Ambiance: loud and full of people. Our go to spot for a morning treat. read more

Pastries are delicious!! Both times I've come here I ordered the pumpkin cheesecake latte because the cheesecake foam on top is so good. The inside of the coffee shop also has cute plants for sale and have lots of tables and chairs for those who like to sit down and enjoy their drink, or like to study in coffee shops. Parking is a bit hard depending on what time you go... there is street parking and 2 small parking lots. read more

Walked in and the cafe was so cute and had lots of sitting space to offer. Great spot to study or get some work done while getting a nice coffee + pastry. They seem to have a full service bakery which showcased lots of delicious looking treats, def will come back to try! This time around we grabbed a latte with coconut + macadamia and almond milk (I forgot the name of the actual drink) but it was SO good! I'm sure the rest of their selection is just as fab. read more
This place is really cute, the ambiance is very relaxing and they always have it nicely decorated which makes it very welcoming. I gave the place 4 stars for food because I've only had the churro pastry which is delicious but haven't had a chance to explore any other menu items. When I've had every single time I've gone is the Spanish Latte. It's delicious, I keep going back! Limited sitting inside but you can also sit outside. They have a few tables and chairs. Parking near by and it is close to downtown Ontario. Highly recommend to go check it out! Everyone is super friendly! read more
