So, this is a famous place in Puerto Vallarta. They have the best tacos, so get there a little early because they fill up fast. It's very small, and there's always a line. You just have to wait patiently, and then one of the waiters will come to you. They'll ask how many people, and then they'll seat you when there's room. There are no reservations, but they can give you an estimate of the wait time. They can't write down your name or anything, since you need to be in line to sit down. Overall, it is the most delicious, amazing tacos. The flavor is fantastic. The salsa they had was excellent. The Al Pastor was cooked beautifully. I highly recommend them--when you come to Puerto Vallarta, you have to try their tacos.
Wow, these tacos are amazing. Every day we walk past Pancho's and are amazed at the line of people waiting for a table. There's a few outside and more inside. Be careful when sitting close to the grill you'll feel the best the whole time. the Al Pastor tacos are the must-try item here. After that we really enjoyed the Asada and Chorizo tacos.
A great place for al pastor tacos. They pile on the tender delicious meat. Since it was slow season our wait was not that long. It is well worth it highly recommended. The service was fast and they talked us down from ordering too much, from 9 to just 6 tacos. We were stuff by the time we were done.
This place came as a recommendation and is very popular. Usually a line to get a seat. Known for their tacos they are good but the margs were meh. The tacos to tortillas ratio is so good and the pineapple topper was just too good! Be very aware of their hours. They don't open till four and on some days are closed so plan accordingly. It's quick turn and burn seating. It's a little crammed and warm. Side walk seating and a few inside seating spot but nothing special, side street taco vibes.
I was looking forward to trying these tacos after seeing the hype online and passing it a number of times and seeing how busy it was and how long the line was. Unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. I believe this is over hyped. I did order the Al Pastor tacos and carne asada tacos and mushroom quesadilla. Honestly, the pastor was whatever. It tasted well cooked but lacked flavor and way over packed on the tortilla, I kind of enjoyed the carne asada tacos more. The mushroom quesadilla was such a let down. I love quesadillas and mushrooms so I had to try this but there was way more mushrooms than cheese and you couldn't even see the tortilla. I either had to eat it like an overpacked taco that was about to break or eat it with utensils. Ended up eating it with a fork. Service turned me off in the beginning as I was drinking a coffee and brought it and the server told me to put it on the floor because it can't be seen. I was like um okay? You also can't take food home. They tell you before you get sat down. From there the rest of the service was good. It's also just really busy on that sidewalk, so much was happening. Probably won't go back next time I visit PV but glad I got to try it.

Do not let that stop you from waiting because these tacos are worth the wait. We ordered the pastor tacos, grilled onion, and steak tacos. The only disappointing part is that you can't order the tacos individually. The specialty tacos come in orders of at least 3 which limits the amount of items we can taste from the menu without wasting food since they don't allow taking left overs. Other than that we enjoyed every bite. The location is small with seating is half inside and outside, it is meant to be a quick bite however there were some pretty large group parties when we got there. Cash only.

Was it worth it? Yes! We had the Al Pastor (skip everything else) and guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender and their sauces elevated each taco. Portions are large. The guacamole was fresh. Although they were extremely busy, they are fast, efficient and friendly. If you don't like sitting in crowded spaces, this place is probably not for you. The margarita was on the sour side but I came for the tacos and they were delicious!

The al pastor were really good - well seasoned with a good char and pieces of pineapple, exactly how it should be. The chorizo tacos were solid too. Their salsa was really good as well. For framing, I'm a pescatarian. About 8 o'clock at night I joined the line outside the restaurant, watching their quick efficiency. I only waited about 15 minutes and was able to sit at a table by myself. They were able to offer a "special of the day" to accommodate my vegetarian needs, which was poblano pepper onion, mushroom, and cheese. I got six tacos and it was so much! The guacamole was fantastic and their sauces are spot on. The pineapple onion salsa is very picant! Overall, a wonderful experience for about 400 pesos, including tip and a Negra Modelo Cerveza. If you eat meat, it would be a great place to go, although there are many other places to explore as well. I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the city today.
We stopped by Pancho Takos while visiting Puerto Vallarta after hearing a lot of hype about the place. They open at 4:00 PM, so we got there right around then to beat the crowd. Service was friendly and quick, which was a nice start. My wife had the carne asada tacos, but unfortunately they were pretty flavorless, not bad, just kind of bland. She didn't end up eating them. My father-in-law ordered the chicken tacos, and while the portion was good, the meat was on the dry side. I tried the al pastor tacos, which were okay but nothing to really rave about. They were missing something, maybe a bit more seasoning or pineapple flavor to make them pop. The salsas on the table helped, especially the spicy red one, and the tortillas were fresh, which I appreciated. The place has a fun local vibe and it's great for people watching in the evening, but overall, the food didn't live up to the buzz for us. Maybe we just caught them on an off night.
We honestly weren't even hungry, but our tour mates insisted we had to stop here since we were already in the Zona Romántica. We came before the dinner rush and were seated right away. The al pastor is what they're famous for it did not disappoint. Each taco was loaded to the brim, with tender, flavorful meat practically spilling out, plus the juicy pineapple on top was the perfect touch. We ordered two al pastor tacos, two beef and two chicken tacos, thinking they'd be the smaller LA street tacos portions. Big mistake! They were all massive and overflowing with meat! As much as we loved them, we just couldn't finish everything. If you come here, just stick with the al pastor, you can't go wrong. Service was quick, prices were great, and the food was incredible. Just a heads-up that it's cash only and no takeout allowed. They make that very clear with a sign in English before you order. They accept US dollars however at a lower exchange rate, but it's still worth it!

Definitely a must visit spot in Downtown PVR. Depending on the time, the wait can be long as seating is limited. However, the turn around is fairly quick. The portions are huge and generous. Some orders include multiple so definitely check on that before ordering. I would say around 7 full size tacos with spear ribs chicken al pastor and chorizo was around $25-28 USD. Worth every penny. read more
So, where to begin. My wife and I each had a very large margarita, 2 al pastor tacos, and a large fresh guacamole for what amounts to about $30 US. The meal came with 4 different hot sauces all of which were delicious. The tacos were likely the best I've ever had and the amount of meat on each was adequate for 3 tacos. You can watch them cut the meat off of the trompo. Service was prompt and efficient and the line moves quickly. This isn't a place where you linger over your meal. We love the feel of this place as it had outdoor seating and felt like terrific street food. You order on a paper menu by ticking off what you want and they make everything to order. This will be at the top of our list every time we visit PV. read more

You wait in line for over a half an hour before they hand you a piece of paper that says that you are not allowed to take any food to go. They do not let you know this until you are close to the front of the line, after you've already waited. NO SIGNS about this anywhere so you're informed before you wait. I went there and waited with the expectation of being able to bring some home to my family and instead left after being there for 45 minutes with nothing. They make you sit at the restaurant, which I did. Ordered 4 tacos. When I asked to pay before the tacos arrived so I could eat one taco and then go to allow them to turn the table for another guest, they told me that four tacos is too much for one person. I said I'd like to take the rest to go. They refused. So I never even got a chance to taste the tacos I waited so long for. read more
The best tacos I've had yet! Their al pastor tacos were so juicy, perfectly charred and topped with a piece of pineapple as well as onions and cilantros. Arrived at around 4pm and waited 10 mins before we got seated. My party ordered a little bit of everything including beef, chorizo, chips and guac and ofc Al pastor. The salsa fixings were complimentary. We love an unlimited amount of salsa!! Their pickled onions and daikon were so good perfectly spicy, tangy and crunchy. Would 100 percent come by next time. My husband suggested this spot after coming just a year before. It was memorable then and memorable now. read more

My husband and I came in about 5 minutes before they opened and there was already a line, however we got seated fairly quickly - within 5 minutes because we got seated at a table in the sun that some people in line declined. Service was quick, efficient and a bit chaotic with the limited seating. We ordered the guacamole and al pastor tacos. Very generous guac serving which was a perfect appetizer as we were waiting for our tacos. The al pastor tacos were delicious - the meat was tender and had some char giving it a good smoked flavor. They LOAD the tacos so it was hard to eat without being messy. I liked the array of sauces but the only one to really write home about is the habanero sauce which has some heat. I'm glad to have tried it, one of the best al pastor tacos I've had and everything (4 tacos and guacamole) including 3 beers ended up being around 300 pesos! Long wait but yummy tacos! Only dine in they do not offer to-go service! Waited around 40 minutes to be seated. Was given a menu while in line to take a look over. Once seated your order is taken and the tacos come within 5 minutes. Love that they bring you an assortment of salsas and some cebollas con habanero. Only con would be that none of the salsas were good. If their salsas were good the tacos would be 5/5 . read more
If you are in Puerto Vallarta you must stop by Pancho's Takos. It's a great experience and amazing service. We waited in line almost an hour but worth the wait. We had the tacos al pastor and carne. We also had their guacamole. Tacos are simple but with a punch in flavor. Tacos are savory and to top it with the salsas are so good. It's definitely a great meal. With all the virtual hype and being a foodie, i had to try this place! Now that i have, trust me you can 100% skip it. This is the longest I've ever lined-up to eat. Esp for a taco spot, it should've been outstanding, not subpar. 2 al pastor tacos (1 reg 1 crispy w/ cheese): dry meat and diminishing flavor profile. The cheese and tortillas were thick and stale. Very laborious to chew. 1/2 portion guac & chips (no complimentary chips): yummy avocados but overall dry and boring. Not enough tomatoes, salt, pepper, lime, or mixing. Salsas (all of them): flavorless and one-dimensional. Service: entirely stone-faced males with the exception of one woman. Zero smiles and i felt neither welcomed nor neglected. My waiter stalled to take my order, and i caught him shifting his body and sneaking a glance at my chest (which was entirely covered with a long sleeve athletic shirt--and my arms). Summary: a tourist trap for ppl that aren't accustomed to good Mexican food. The only thing i can tell that may be appealing is the plates are LOADED with (dry) meat--actually a turnoff since that usually compensates for quality. Everything (quality, flavor, service) about the place felt dull. Hopefully, the bright side is this review saves someone else the calories, time and money i wasted here. read more

Well I think the hype is real! Waited in line for 15 minutes. Sat and ordered immediately because staff was on point. Mrs G. ordered the Al pastor with cheese and I don't think she expecting the giant amount of food she ordered. Boy was it so tasty tasty food. A local who was in line in-front of me told me to order the grilled beef spear ribs baked with cheese. I took that nugget of advice and ordered away. All in all about 3 pounds of meat was delivered to our table and we had left overs. I was very pleased with Pancho's Takos. I'd return! read more
When there's always a line for your food, you know it must be really good. Well the wait was worth it. The restaurant alone is very small. Small tables inside that seats about 10 to 15 and tables outside that seats about the same amount. Hence line is always so long. And that's even before they open. Hours are later than most at 4pm till closing which is about 12 midnight. Also don't think they do takeout. They're know for their al pastor tacos as so does many places here in PV. We arrived around 8:30 pm on a Tuesday night and there was a line still. Give or take half an hour or so till we were seated. While in line, they give you an order sheet with everything they have. Give yourself time to see what you want and mark it down. We opted for the combination of 4 tacos each, a quesadilla and cheese fondue dip. Well, waiter told us that it would be a lot of food when we got seated. Ended up taking off the quesadillas which he was right. We got seated inside, it's basically what's available. Small table so if there's too much food, then there's no room for the plates. 4 main salsas and an additional was brought out which was the spicer of them all. It was good but does add the EXTRA punch. Tacos didn't take long to arrive, the steak and al pastor with everything in it. They're mini size street tacos but loaded with meat. Meat was cooked well and paired with the salsa, it was major. The Al pastor, with the pineapple added that perfect flavor to it. Everything was excellent and fresh as the meat was literally cut right in front of you. They prepare the al pastor prior to opening daily. Cheese dip came after the tacos. Which we had it with mushrooms. The melted cheese accompanied by the mushrooms and served with mini tortillas. Ended up having the dip as it as the tortilla was too much. Good thing that we ended up canceling the quesadillas as recommended by the waiter. Also, the margaritas were a hit. Seen the table next to us having one and by their reaction, we had to give it a try. Restaurant was a hit. Missed trying it last visit but made sure to experience it this time. Be prepared to stand in line as it does form even before they open. Bigger group maybe harder to get seated. Tables are along the sidewalk so they'll be pedestrian walking by. Everything does come out pretty fast which is nice. Prices are very reasonable which makes it even better. It a must if you want good tacos in PV. It also a well know place hence line is always long. read more
Tip: if you can have early dinner pls come here around 3.50pm. The line gets longer after that. Finally checked this off the list. We don't eat pork /beef so review is based only off chicken and veg options. The service is quick. While we waited in the line they gave us a paper menu and pencil to select our options. We had the choice to get a drink while we waited in the line. I'd recommend seating outside as it can get quite stuffy and smoky inside. The dishes were good, their salsas were delicious. They have decent veg options with chili and onions. The chicken was on the drier side , but it could be prepped up with the salsa on the table. Also it's and eat in place so they don't take Togo orders. I would recommend this place if the wait is not too long. But if you decide to not wait, you are not missing out on anything exceptional. read more
Amazing food, it's hard to find better Al Pastor tacos, and the quesadas aren't too shabby. The servers are on top of things, they have to be; the seating area is tiny and the line is long. This place is good, there is a line that moves at a decent pace esp if you are a party of 2. The big down side is that it is cramped and hot. read more

It was on a Thursday 1/22/26, approximately 11pm when we finally got to eat at Pancho's Takos! Wait....what....no wait...shocker. We've passed by many a times but didn't have the patience to wait in line. At times, the line would be 20 plus people long. Definitely do not go here hungry. Don't expect pleasantries or personable friendly staff at Pancho's Takos because this place is a go go go....sit, eat, pay, go, next customer. Move on. Here's the scoop. Don't come here if you: - You don't have the patience to wait 10-40 minutes - Are dining with with a big group, it may get broken up due to space - Dining in close and tight quarters bothers you, it can get packed like sardines and your chair may be protruding in the aisle area. OSHA will just love their set up - Don't like seeing a super busy restaurant, with 3 (out of 15) staff sitting on dining chairs or standing around using their personal cell phones while you're eating. Yes true story. Plus, space is so tight, the waiters in the dining area have taken up a lot of body space. Manager, send those staff home, you don't need 15 staff on shift working in such tiny dining area - Don't like being micro managed by staff as they are making sure outside beverages are not being brought inside restaurant (including bottled water) ... not your typical hole-in-wall restaurant because usually bringing in soda or water bottle is harmless. Know the difference between micromanage server vs an attentive server - If you want only 1 carne asada taco , you have to order more than one - Plan to order to-go, this place is dine-in only Overall, not a terrible experience at this "too many rules" Mexican hole-the-wall restaurant. We were able get a table right away, eat right away and then leave right away. Their tacos were generously portioned but they're not the best tasting. I will still stick with my favorite tacos at Poblano Taqueria in Rosarito, Mexico. Why ? Because its freshly grilled meat is way tasty (you can smell and taste the grill), has all the fixings and generously portioned, with guacamole to top. I may give Pancho's Takos a try again read more
This place was pretty good. For the price and how much they give you, it's absolutely worth it. They literally load your tacos til you can't fold them properly, which is a GOOD problem to have. Pretty fast and friendly service. The line was long af so prepare to wait. read more
Panchos Takos is definitely the real deal. We were visiting Puerto Vallarta and went to the beach and came across this place and wow. It's very close to the board walk it's about 1 block away. And this place gets very busy the line gets really big. Service is really good they do the best they can with how busy it gets. But on to the food man the tacos are fire so damn good. And my favorite for sure were the salsas they give you the haberno sauce omg so damn good! If your in the area or close by this is the spot to come grab few tacos i definitely recommend this place! read more
Of course I came to see what the hype was about from my fellow Yelpers and travelers. The pastor was a must try so I ordered 2 tacos. The amount of meat they give you could make two tacos on its own so order accordingly or come hungry. The meat was delicious, very juicy and served on 1 homemade corn tortilla that held up with each tasty bite, which is a big deal to me. There was a line but service was quick so we were in and out. I did get to try their chorizo which was also something you should try as well. The only downfall about this place is that we couldn't order to go after a long night and late night cravings but respectfully we understood. Delicious! Keep it up. read more
