Yum, yum, yum. I always go for the chicken soft tacos with pico de gallo and a lime wedge. The tacos are always fresh tasting and delicious. The only thing is that the place lacks ambiance, but the amazing food and nice little touches like the Mexican mints overshadow that. Best shrimp burrito I have had since living on the West coast. The cheese dip was so delicious and their salsa and green sauce was above and beyond. My husband got the car it's tacos and the portion was very big for their prices! Chips were hot and fresh along with everything else. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back and try the breakfast burritos. Also, you order at the counter and can take out or sit and eat in. Excellent food! read more

If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. I went to the one on Mallory Lane last night for carry out. I ordered two beef tacos and some fajitas. The tacos were TERRIBLE. I ended up throwing them both away. The fajitas were pretty good up until my husband PULLED A LONG, THICK MANS FINGERNAIL out of his MOUTH! I'm sorry, but thats unacceptable. If you are a cook, and you suspect you may have lost ANY part of your body in the food, how about THROWING THAT BATCH AWAY and starting over?! You don't lose a fingernail like that and NOT NOTICE! I really like Oscars! If I want to go have some margaritas and sit down ill go to more of a sit down type place but if I'm alone and just want some good Mexican take out but not like chipotle/moes kinda stuff I go to Oscars!! It's really good and pretty authentic. Their tacos come on corn tortillas and remind me of the ones you would get from a taco truck, meat, fresh pico, a line wedge etc. I love their guacamole, their fish burrito is a favorite and the besssst dish I think they have, especially for the price is their quesadillas! I get the steak quesadilla it's around $6 and it's super filling. It's loaded w steak, cheese, beans, pico, guacamole, sour cream! It can be messy so I like to take it to go and eat it shamelessly. I recommend this place highly for some good take out! But for the record you can dine in! read more

The place is packed at lunch, which is an indication of good food. I had the #2 combo (2 tacos with rice and beans and a drink). The meat was high quality. Much better than most Mexican restaurants. The taco shells were definitely homemade, but were not anything special. The salsa was in a squirt bottle and hot, which I like. However it was not very flavorful with cilantro and veggies. At a cost of $10, it was not a good value for me. Although things are priced higher in Franklin, I cannot justify the price for a couple of tacos. read more

Came here today to EXPRESS my concern the last time I bought a steak & egg burrito here & to pick up an order to go. I talked to the owner/manager about the burrito GETTING ME SICK and he blew me off saying "We never have complaints" and I said "I've been coming here for years" and he told me to have a nice day and gave me my food. I want Oscars to know this is Unacceptable to treat a LONG TIME CUSTOMER this way with this NO CARE ATTITUDE! I've spent HUNDREDS of dollars @ Oscars. This is my favorite lunch spot. The food is great and is a great value. The portions are generous as well. I eat here 2-3 times a week.

If your from So Cal then you're going to love Oscar's. This place reminds me of the Mexican food places down by the beach area in Redondo and Torrance. The food is reasonably priced and really good. One suggestion I would give is to offer chips with every meal. Oscar's is my new favorite in the Brentwood/Franklin area. Surfs up and it's time for Oscar's. read more

We love the Oscar's at West Haven. Eat there all the time, We have ate at this one twice. the Hot Sauce is watered down, the lettuce is water down soaking the food, the beans were just barely warm both times we ate there.
