DO NOT LET THEM DO REPAIR WORK ON YOUR CAR I had the clutch in my 2012 Subaru WRX 2.5L Turbo replaced in March 2026 at J1 Towing & Mechanic after my clutch went out and left me stranded on the side of the road about 30 miles east of Othello. He diagnosed that the clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. I authorized the work. I noticed issues immediately when I picked up the car, by the time i got back to Seattle, I was certain there was an issue and not just " breaking-in a stiff new clutch" as Joel suggested at pick-up, when I mentioned it didn't seem right. The car was showing several very concerning symptoms. I ended up taking my car to a dealer service center, they confirmed that there was definitely something wrong with the clutch, and that based on the paperwork I had from Joel, it was an incorrect friction plate. They installed an incorrect part in my clutch. I tried to work with Joel, he wanted a chance to look at the car/clutch, and I thought that was reasonable, but I had been advised it was unsafe to drive the car the distance from Seattle - Othello, especially over the pass. I offered to make the car available if Joel could tow it to his shop, but he wanted $800 for the tow, which I couldn't afford by this point. I had already paid him $250 for the initial tow, $2500+ for the initial repair, and another $280 for the diagnostic at the dealer in Seattle to tell me what was wrong. The repair quote from the dealer was $3000 for a new clutch + $9000 for a transmission. I then asked Joel for a refund, so I could try to get the car repaired on this side of the mountains, but he refused. The entire situation is heartbreaking and super stressful- my dream car was made undrivable, and I am unable to repair it.

I literally made a Yelp account just to say how great these guys are!!…read more Late Saturday night, on our way home from a long day of work and travel, my wife and I hit a sudden stretch of ice that sent our ford expedition spinning off the road into the deep snow on a slanted hill. We were decently far out of town and had seen only 1 other car come by in the 30 minutes we spent trying to dig out, who also nearly got stuck. We called Tow Pros and they sent a truck out to save us immediately. The conditions were so icy, that they called a second truck out to help winch us out. Never once did either of the Tow Pros guys make us feel silly or embarrassed for needing help - in fact, they just seemed thrilled to be doing their job and helping us, even at midnight in the 18 degree weather. And they did it quickly! They gave us tons of tips and encouragement while saving our butts and for an incredibly fair price. 10 out of 5 stars

I had my vehicle towed to Ken's because it was having trouble shifting…read more I left my vehicle and they begin working on it....they replaced the clutch. When I came to pick up my vehicle, it still had trouble shifting. When I asked them why it wasn't fixed, they told me the clutch wasn't the problem and it was fine, but they had replaced it...they charged me $1326 to replace a clutch that they admitted they knew was perfectly fine. Why didn't they call me before replacing the clutch? I had my car towed to another mechanic and it was correctly diagnosed. It was the transmission. I went to ask Ken and Brandon for details on why they chose to replace a perfectly good clutch. I had three simple questions and Ken and Brandon became argumentative. Ken used profanity and became physically violent. It escalated to such a point that I felt in danger and called the police. I cannot recommend Ken's Automotive shop to anyone. From beginning to end this was a terrible experience. Also, if you were a woman they will definitely try to take it vantage of that fact, and either overcharge you or intimidate you. I'm honestly shocked this place is still in business.

Shows one of many ways this company has no remorse for an individual's situation.
