Exact Performance wanted to change out the timing belt, but I'm not sure that would have fixed it. The car was having issues that didn't quite align with timing chain problems. It was a waste of time. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was definitely taking a chance with Exact and here is my experience: First Impressions: My brother recommended Exact when I was shopping around for brake repair a couple years ago. The shop is located on Johnson Drive, next to a new car wash. We dropped my car off right around 8:30. The shop is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Dillon was very welcoming and he confirmed what services I needed. The shop was nice and clean and Dillon was very organized. Communication: I appreciated the phone call before any service was done to my car. They allowed us time to decide what we wanted to do before continuing and Dillon was very understanding. He wasn't pushy like the dealerships and I didn't feel pressured to make any decisions. The price is nice: I did not get tires, as they were more expensive than I thought, but for an oil change and front brakes, my bill was a little over $200. Their prices on timing belt replacement and other maintenance work was way cheaper than the Acura dealership, which is impressive. Overall: I will be back. The pricing alone was it for me. Acura quoted me well over a grand for maintenance work, new tires, and brakes on my car. Dillon's prices were half of that, which I can handle. They do specialize in imports, so keep that in mind. The only down side was their tire prices, which are about the same amount as the dealer. I also appreciated the customer service and how genuine Dillon was.

What I was told would be two day repair for my timing chain turned into a month-long experience with my car sitting in the shop. Communication was inconsistent at times, and I often felt in the dark about what was really happening. The shop initially quoted me around $2,600, then revised it to $4100 and offered a $800 discount. The total ended up at $3,908. During the repair, I was told that my dowel pin had broken in the camshaft, which required additional work. I receive a text message saying my car was ready for pickup. I came paid my balance in full. Less than a hundred feet of leaving out the parking lot my check engine light was back on and problem still existed. Im thankful I caught it in time because it was a Friday and they are closed on weekends. So it would have been my word against there's when it came time with correcting the problem. When I arrived for pickup today, the shop stated they waived an additional $800 fee for a solenoid recalibration/replacement that was directly related to the timing chain work they had just performed. I feel strongly that this should have been included in the original service and not presented as an "extra" charge after I had already paid. To their credit, I really appreciated the friendliness of the two administrative assistants, who went above and beyond to help me. They provided me with a shuttle ride home when I dropped off my car, even paid for me an Uber to pick up the loaner vehicle, and made sure I had a loaner car for the month while mine was being repaired. Those accommodations meant a lot during a very long process. The shop also test drove my car for 40+ minutes before releasing it, and the check engine light has not come back on yet. I appreciate that they ultimately covered the $800 charge, but overall the experience left me questioning trust, timelines, and transparency. If you use this shop, know that while they will work with you and provide support, you'll need to ask a lot of questions, push back on extra fees, and keep good records. The repair seems to be holding for now, but the process was much more difficult and drawn out than it should have been.

There was no real time-consuming issue, I feel like they just never really got around to it which was a bummer. To their credit, they did confirm with me that it would be OK to stay an extra day (I have an e-bike so it worked out fine in the end) but that's a long time for what was a quick repair. Value: Good value, I felt the price I paid was fair for the work. Issue: I think my issues with the car will remain, however. I expressly told them about a sound and how to re-create the sound, and they claimed they never heard it. I can go out right now and make it happen clear as day, so again I feel like they just didn't really try to figure it out. I'll have to find someone else who can tackle it. I really, really needed to find a nice mechanic who I could trust after my good one closed and was so hopeful here, but ultimately it fell pretty flat. Not sure if I'd go back or recommend them.

I was quoted one price by the head repairman (who runs the shop when the owner is out) prior to working on my car. After the work was done, I was quoted a new price by the owner which was almost $300 more. Not only was I overcharged for labor I did not approve to be done on my car prior, they also broke a valve on my engine. Instead of notifying me about it and fixing what they broke, they decided to GLUE the hose over the broken valve hole with a silicone adhesive. This of course wore off over time and caused my car to break down only 4 months later! They are the only shop to EVER do work on my engine/spark plugs prior to my car breaking down again 4 months later for the very reason they overcharged me to fix! To overcharge me, speak to me condescendingly, and to break something without properly fixing it is such a horrible way to run a business.

I had to take the car back the next day to have it fixed. I have massive amounts of oil all over my driveway and the worst thing is, after they fixed the leak they didn't even refill my oil.
