So much improvement in the last 18 months. Food quality has gone from a 2/5 to a solid 4/5. Simple menu but all flavorful selections and yummy specials. Service could be a little better, but there's always room for improvement. Staff is friendly, but maybe not as attentive as I'd like. I wish the restaurant would go back to the funky blues joint it had when it opened. It was a restaurant anomaly in Colorado and that's why it was such a hit. Order outside and take a number to your table. Large indoor seating and shady outdoor seating. This location is the original so it was a must-do for us. Beers were Oskar beers. We were surprised at how tasty the shrimp etouffee was. You're seemingly in the middle of nowhere when up pops the Oskar brewery with super delicious etouffee. So I'd say that's a win. This place has really changed. I haven't been in a long time but it was so disappointing. They were out of a few beers that I was interested in, which wasn't terrible. But the food was just lousy. The Mac and cheese, according to the person I was with was just mediocre. I got their veggie burger which they had put into the fryer and it was actually dried out and crunchy- it ended up having no taste. A solid choice if passing through or even as a destination set on Main Street in quaint and scenic Lyons. You'll be right in the middle of downtown where you can walk to all the cute shops. They have the whole Oskar Blues lineup you're accustomed to so you'll leave with you belly full and happy. The restaurant has a robust menu with great portions. I love their smoked wings and jambalaya! But get it before it sells out! The only thing that is holding them back from more stars is they seems to always be a little short staffed. My wife and I were passing through on the way down the mountain, and the altitude was giving her a terrible headache. We couldn't find a place to get any aspirin, and the only place we had found had a line of 48 people. In despatation, we pulled off the road at Oskar Blues to ask where we might be able to buy some aspirin. The bartender told us there was a Circle K down the road but to let him check and see if he had anything in back. He came back with a couple of aspirin packs, which he gave us for free. We had to hit the road, or we would have stayed for a beer (it looked really good). I just wanted to repay a much apriciated kindness with a thank you and good review. Now, this is my kind of Grill & Brew. It's the kinda place that'll make you feel happy with the blues. If I lived closer, I'd probably be here much more often. They had me with the beer and the bbq with sweet fries and a side salad made for the perfect meal after a full day on the trail. Had to try both the brisket and pulled pork. I'd get both again. The sweet potato fries were't super plentiful but I'd say it was just the right amount with everything else. The beers here are predictably good and there's a good variety for whatever style you like. Plenty of room inside and even more outside if it's that time of year. Love the Lyons location it's beautiful and not as busy then the one in Longmont. Our server was friendly let us know the deals. Our meals didn't take long came out and was fresh. The portions are huge. You will definitely have to take some boxes home with leftovers. My husband and I split the BBQ King Burger we choose a side of salad husband got full with the salad. I got full of the cup of tortilla soup it was delicious. The cup was definitely more of a bowl of soup. We will go there again. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was nice. read more

My visit last summer was fine. There was no indoor dining at that time; you just walked up to the window and ordered and sat outside. I left a 4-star review for that visit. Fast-forward to my latest visit, in early July. My husband and I showed up around 7 for dinner. We drove up and saw an upper patio area and wanted to sit there. The host told us it was full and that we could sit on the lower patio and order everything at the bar. We walked down there, and it was completely full. We went back to the host and said we would sit inside. He took us to a table that was right next to the door to the upper patio. We could see empty tables outside, so I asked what was up; he already told us it was full yet there were tables available. He said he didn't know why but he was told not to seat anyone else out there. Just then, I overheard who was apparently supposed to be our server *loudly and sarcastically* say "Well *I* just got quadruple seated!" in a very annoyed tone. Needless to say, that comment was extremely off-putting, as he was clearly not happy that he had a few new tables at once. He did not want to wait on us, and the restaurant did not want us taking an outdoor table. At that point we got up and left. There was no way we were going to stay under those circumstances. We ended up going to La Mariposa and had excellent, friendly service. I wasn't even going to update my review on Yelp. HOWEVER, I sent a message (via their website under the "contact" section) a couple days later, asking for some clarification on the seating issue and mentioning the unprofessional behavior of our would-be server, and NO ONE ever responded. We drive by on the way to Estes Park and I knew I had to stop here.ive always been a fan of Dale's pale ale and wanted to try some of their other beers. Just moved here from Ohio so that's really the only beer I see from Oskar blues on a regular basis. First the beers, tons of offerings. I choose the interstate smash express brewed with Amarillo. It was perfect for a hot summer day...light fruity but still hoppy and flavorful. Loved it! I also tried their version of a shandy which was also good. So we came for lunch...found a great table on the patio and Alexis did a fantastic job taking care of us.she also recommended the beer! I had the special burger of the day...it was a beef burger with Mac and cheese and bacon with a srichacha honey sauce. Cooked perfectly and those toppings were killer! Damn! Our table also tried the chicken salad and pulled pork sandwich. They liked their food a lot and the chicken on the salad totally looked amazing! I've been a Lyons local for 5 years, Before the new ownership (in 2020) Oscar Blues was 2000% better. The inside of the restaurant used to be beautiful, with tons of old memorabilia, it had a very original vibe. It now resembles the inside of an IHOP in the middle of nowhere from the year 2006. They have since removed the best food items from the menu, and the quality of the food is MUCH MUCH worse and EXTREMELY Overpriced. We admired Oskar Blues Grill & Brew from afar. 6 feet afar!! The brewery is providing their continued curbside takeaway orders along with limited capacity dine-in services in Lyons, CO. They are open from 11:30 AM - 7:00 PM, everyday of the week, respectively. I had visited the local Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids & Solids in Longmont, CO and found the magic of the tour coming to life here. The hard work of made liquids were paying off, as I ordered my Pale Ale drink and chowed down on Pub Nachos. The Pub Nachos were made with their promised fresh ingredients, as stated in their website. For $10, my meal came with House made Hatch Chili Queso!! topped with loads of veggies and it was just super zesty. Mainly made up of red-vined Tomato, green Onions, black Olives and a "Cotija" Cheese. (Fancy!) What better way to complete this order of nachos than a side of their creamiest sour cream, a unique avocado sauce and fire roasted Salsa? We are also a fan of pickles, so we were delighted to discover their Fried Pickles, which are definitely fun and easy to snack on. The finger food Beer Battered pickles included a choice of dipping sauce!! The dipping sauces we received were a chipotle style ranch which was interesting. The service over the phone was super nice, we absolutely enjoyed how nice the gentleman was. He actually listed the sauces for us!! Since dining isn't an option for us right now, we were amazed at the many wonderful spots to chow down on their delectable food: The park across the street. The food is fine, not exceptional, but good. But the service can be quite terrible. Are they understaffed? Because, you have to be very patient to get your food or your bill once you are done. And on multiple occasions, the place was half empty, but still, there was a wait list. One time, we were leaving (did not want to wait 30 minutes when there were lots of available tables), someone came after us and offered us a table right away. I don't understand their organization. I have been to the Longmont spot multiple time and I have the exact same comments. Last time, the service in longmont was so bad that we decided to give up on that Oskar Blues location, to my husband's great disappointment since he is always looking for a nice brewpub. I love this town. I came for the festival and this was a cool place to walk away and check out. That said, kitchen just couldn't handle the rush and they weren't that busy. My friends ordered some pretty basic food and it took them over an hour. No warning ahead of time. Just excuses after 45 minutes or so. That said, my experience wasn't as bad. No excuses from the kitchen, just a salad and a pie in a reasonable amount of time. Pork belly, fig and balsamic pie was way too sweet. As well as the beet salad. Chef has a sweet tooth for sure. That said, not that bad. Great for bar food honestly. Sound was pretty awful downstairs, but I don't think this place has major concerts on the regular. I dunno. Truly enjoyed our experience here last night for dinner! We stopped by after a 15 mile hike based on a recommendation from a local hiker. Yesterday was July 4th so we were probably one of the last food orders before they closed the kitchen early to allow their staff to get home and enjoy the holiday. But we never felt like an "inconvenience" being the last people in there. They allowed us to try a beer before purchasing it and our food was wonderful. I ordered the silo burger and my wife ordered the Cajun chicken pasta. This place is huge btw, has 3 stories of seating and two patios! Hope they can find more staff soon so they can start table service. Right now they have one line outside to order food and drinks, but after COVID I think they are doing as well as anyone could be!
