Cheese curd gravy fries, excellent crispy and juicy fried chicken tenders with house-made honey mustard sauce.
Jon L.

This place is so good. The chicken has a crispy, herb seasoned crust. The green chili is scratch made and onion forward and the fries perfectly crisp. And who knew that honey mustard could be homemade and also awesome?! The only complaint is that the chef seems to be concerned about my blood pressure as there is not enough salt, but it's still so very, very good. Oh, beer is solid too--which makes for a nice dinner pairing.

Great service great atmosphere we sat on the patio. They allow dogs dog, friendly unleash. I had the burgers and the chicken and great stuff.

Chicken tender - fabulous coating, so good

So, those chicken tenders were pretty impressive. Paired with the drinks available, I had a greyhound seltzer, I've gotta say this place is in my list. We also had poutine Colorado- my preference if we are going to do that.

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with Fried Green Beans
Brian M.

So good! I had the Nashville Hit Chicken sandwich with Fried Green Beans (for an up-charge)! I had the lowest level of heat. The sandwich came dressed with coleslaw and pickles. The Fried Green Beans were seasoned well and just wonderful. I had them with honey mustard, which appears to be house-made. So good!

Staff was very pleasant, but that was it. We ordered 2 scratch burgers to go, but they were very salty. My wife and I were hungry, and we couldn't even finish the burgers. . . Plus, it was hard to find. It does not say Scratch Kitchen outside of the establishment. It says something totally different, and we had to ask around to make sure we were in the right place. Again staff was great, food was poor.

The Reaper is my new favorite sandwich. This is what Nashville Hot Chicken is all about. At 1,000,000 Scoville units this heaven sent (or hell sent if you want to look at it that way) creation will keep me coming back again and again. If you appreciate truly hot delicious food this will bring a smile to your face. It has a bonus that you actually get to breath fire when you put your mask on. Kudos Chef Nate

Chimichurri grilled chees

Their shredded pork grilled cheese sandwich was amazingly crunchy and full of rich flavor. It did not disappoint. Paired well with our beer as the truck was parked at the Left Hands Brewery

Excellent food with amazing service! Our server was very helpful and informative about the area and must eat restaurants. This is a must stop!

The food was good and loved sitting on the rooftop while the sun was going down! It was a busy night, but the service was still good.

Great food. The grilled chicken sandwich edges out the burgers. And the poutine is great, try the Philly one.

Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The service was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We waited about 20 minutes just for drinks and eventually had to go up to the bar ourselves. When we asked about it, the bartender simply said, "I'm working on it," which was frustrating given how long we had already been waiting. There were 4 tales in the restaurant and like 8 employees Things did not improve from there. Our food came out very slowly and one of the meals had to be sent back. We ended up having to go to the bar multiple times, including for a to go box and even to get our check, because no one was checking on our table. To make matters worse, the menu states that guests are asked to limit their visit to 90 minutes. However, due to the slow and inattentive service, we were there for nearly two hours through no fault of our own. There also used to be a sense of customer service here, which seems to have changed. To top it off, gratuity was automatically added without it being mentioned or explained. That felt especially inappropriate considering we ended up doing a large portion of the service ourselves. It's like they figured they were getting auti gratuity so didn't provide any service Really disappointing experience overall. Not sure what changed, but this was a huge step down from our previous visit.

Seth provided amazing service and was fun to talk to. He recommended all the yummy stuff for us and even took my side of fried green beans vs cheese curds. He's not wrong, cheese curds are more popular and fried green beans are less commonly found. We freaking love the fried green beans! So deliciously coated with the batter and it goes so well as a beer pairing! My favorite was the Strawberry Vanilla Sour and the Radler, the orange juice and the lemonade on top of the cream ale was so tasty and refreshing! My partner got the Psychotic Balaclava Horchata Imperial Stout as it was award winning and the Lazy Hazy Crazy Day-z NEIPA, both are yummy too. A lot of ppl are here for the food to go with their beers, we'd have to come back for a proper meal next time. Get the green beans if you're here for beers!

They have indoor and patio seating options. We sat on the patio. The weather was beautiful! You request service by using a little sign on the table. Sign up means you need something, sign down means do not disturb. We actually really liked this model; whenever the sign was up service was super prompt and friendly. Wish more places did this. We started with the Colorado Poutine. For entrees our group ordered the Bacon Onion Jam Burger, White Cheddar Bacon Burger, Bulgogi Burger, and the Hatch Chile Philly. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My fries were a tad over-salted, but still super tasty. I really liked how the toasted buns actually held up to the weight of the burgers. You know how some places use flimsy buns which fall apart while you eat burger? Not the case here. One of our party ordered the Fried Green Beans as their side. Personally I wasn't a fan, but they liked them a lot - said they were the best fried green beans they've ever had. If you're craving a hefty burger - this is the spot for you!

Since we were…read moretraveling from out of state we made a reservation ahead of time - although on a Wednesday evening at 5pm, it wasn't super critical, as the restaurant never got completely full. There are multiple seating options - inside, patio, or rooftop. We opted for the rooftop and the vibes were excellent. The weather was gorgeous and the rooftop patio is nicely decorated with live plants and a big bar running the length of the patio. Our server was excellent. I think his name was Danny. One of our party has an alcohol intolerance, so needs to avoid foods cooked with alcohol. Danny was super helpful in guiding our menu options with this information. He confirmed multiple dishes with the chef before we ordered. For food, we started with the Truffle Parm Fries, Fried Brussels Sprouts, and the Bangin' Cauliflower. All were delicious. The cauliflower was extremely good, I can see why so many reviews mention it. For entrees, our group ordered the Short Rib Tacos, Jumbo Crab Cakes, Chilean Salmon, and the Avocado Salad with Seared Ahi. No complaints around the table. The meat in the Short Rib tacos is super tasty. Portions were good sized, however the Crab Cake dish is definitely smaller than the others. Good option if you aren't super hungry. The Chilean Salmon was cooked perfectly. We didn't really have any complaints at all. Solid dining experience. Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the Longmont area.

The main improvement The Roost could make would be letting the GM, J. Suniga return to Burger King,…read moreor whatever fast food franchise from which they hired him. The next improvement would be training employees that when a customer makes a request to pay the bill, the answer is "Yes, I will take care of that." Instead I received, a snippy "Notify your server." My response, "No, I'm the customer, you're employed here. I just agreed to pay a ridiculous sum for a cocktail and an appetizer, so YOU find whoever needs to receive my payment!" Her feelings were hurt, so she played the "You-don't-need-to-speak-to-me-that-way" card. Eventually she recovered from the trauma and found an Official Roost Bartender to give me the bill. Mr. Suniga explained that he did not pay her to receive payments. As a solution, her "manager" advised I avoid The Roost in the future. Apparently, customers who want to pay are not welcome? Good advice for me and any other prospective customers!

That beer is called Redrum and it's a very solid Red Ale. I liked the Red Drink (a light farmhouse ale) even more. The loaded fries are solid bar food at a reasonable price. The environment is suitably sci-fi modern with some cool pod type booths and lots of metal. I don't have a lot of cause to come to Longmont normally, but when I do, I'll come here.

If you don't want to deal with all the congestion in Longmont this is your place. Easy on/off from I-25 just a couple miles west. We were on our way to see a concert at CSU and decided to stop for some dinner and a brew. This place delivered. My husband and I are both sci-fi geeks. The decor is fantastic. My inner geek was nerding out. We had our son with us so the three of us ordered dinner. He got the schnitzel sandwich on a pretzel bun with fries. They had an orange soda that he enjoyed. My husband got the Outworld Burger. A brisket burg with bacon, smoked cheddar, burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. For a side he tried Stoemp, a Belgian root veg mash. He said the burger was delicious but that root mash was the star. I stole a bite and I'll have to choose that side next time. Me? I saw pastrami and kraut and was sold. Purple cabbage kraut, grainy mustard, thinly sliced pastrami and Jarlsberg on griddled bread. Oh my! I opted for a side salad and ranch. My salad was fresh and had a nice variety of vegetables. Ok on to the beers. We got a flight to share and discuss. Baltalowda Baltic Porter had a nice malty flavor and was my personal fav. Starship Wallonia/Patrice's 1960 Belgian IPA hit the mark. Future Farmer Saison was a nice estery offering laden with berries. ValHellYeah (Kornøl), a collab with Mythmaker Brewing, is an "unboiled raw ale." Had to try that and had to get a crowler for our homebrew friends to try. In addition to our flight we shared a pint of Lup Garou Double IPA. This one was crowler worthy to take home as well. We also got a crowler of Black Is Beautiful 2 for later. The staff was welcoming and had knowledgeable answers to all our questions. This will definitely be a place we will go back to.

I'm done with Oskar Blues and the surprises each time I go…read more I tried to have a birthday party on a Monday lunch time for 6 adults and 4 kids. I called ahead and Sarah said I could reserve space inside or outside seating for my party but when we got there, the host put us outside and THEN told us they didn't have service outside and we'd have to order at the bar. WTF!? So, we moved inside and were the only ones in the place for about 30 minutes. The food was good but I'm done with everything being an add-on item - example: cheese on the burger is $1.50. Really? House salad was $2.00 additional replacing onion rings on the pulled pork sandwich? Soft drinks were reasonable at $3.00 each. We ordered a kids fish plate ($8.00) and wanted to order one additional fish filet and were charged for a second kids plate (again $8.00). KIds' Mac & Cheese was pretty good. The cost-of-living adder on the check that most restaurants have dropped is now LUMPED together with tax on the bill so as to hide the additional amount. On my bill of $146.00 - they added $17.36 for tax and adjustment. Working backwards, I guess that is an additional $5.00 or 3%. Not too much but it's misleading to price a menu this way. One only saving grace was I could pay with a charge card and they didn't add a fee on top of all that. I guess future customers will see if that changes because I'm done.
