I was recently visiting the Oregon coast and someone recommended this place. I'm so glad we came. Even though I was staying in Cannon Beach, I took a wrong turn and ended up in Seaside, and coincidentally stumbled across Osprey Cafe! It's a small restaurant inside with a few tables outside. When you put your name down with the hostess, she actually calls your phone number to tell you the table is ready! What great service. When it came time to eat, my friend and I ordered the breakfast and lunch special respectively. The lunch special that day was pork adobo sandwich with fries. I happened to ask for ranch on the side and OMG that was the best decision I made that day. Their ranch is one of the best ranches I've ever had. It's packed with dill and it's not too runny. I will be remembering THE RANCH DRESSING from here for a long time!! Osprey is a hidden gem on the coast and I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area! read more

This is a small place, my first time there. I went on a Saturday so...I walked up gave my phone number and they call....but I sat in a chair near the counter and waited. Smoked salmon scramble was good, the home fries that went with it was divinely crunchy and the seasoning was so on point. Though we went on a weekday, this place was very busy, as if it was a weekend. Morning rush had us waiting outside for a while, but I'd say the food was worth it. A smaller menu, but has many different choices. I ordered the eggs Benedict and was impressed! I also am usually not a big fan of "farm potatos" or the verity, but theirs was perfect! Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Lastly I appreciated the decor, it has an obvious seaside theme, but the tables have foreign money, and the place has a quirkiness. The service was pretty bad. The place was busy and chaotic. Not one employee was taking the lead to help customers figure out where to put your name down to wait, or where to order takeout. We waited a full 10 minutes hoping for eye contact from someone who worked there. When I finally asked someone where I could place a to go order I was impatiently told I needed to wait. No further words were said and she walked away. I felt I was inconveniencing them trying to be a paying customer. Not sure how the food is. Located in South town off of U avenue. Plenty of street parking around the building. They are closed Mondays and Tuesday. So super excited to see that they have online ordering now! We love to get their breakfast burrito to-go. Made very fresh and with great flavor. The salsa that comes on the side is also phenomenal. Highly recommend their other dishes as well. They have picnic table seating outside for the warmer days and inside seating for the colder ones. We always receive top notch service from the staff and our order is always made promptly. They are good so they get really busy at times and there may be a long wait. This is a must-eat when visiting town! Delicious food + friendly service + a cozy converted beach house = Osprey Café in Seaside. We enjoyed our breakfast SO MUCH the first day, we came back the next! The first day I tried the huevos rancheros with 2 arepas, shredded chicken, black beans, queso fresco and home fries. I had never had arepas, so I was eager to try them and they were delicious! As we were eating, a plate went past on its way to another diner and I called over our server to ask what it was. It was the nasi goreng plate, which I had considered before choosing the huevos. So the next day, true to our word, we returned. No need for menus, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted: nasi goreng! A GENEROUS serving of Indonesian style rice stir fried with finely diced veggies, sautéed shrimp and shredded chicken, topped with a perfectly sunny egg and garnished with 3 beautiful prawn crackers. WOW! An absolute winner! Both days hubs went with his standard egg, bacon, pancake breakfast and was very happy with his choice as well. All the staff work really hard to handle the steady stream of customers, but do it with friendly smiles and great attitudes. Felt like we were eating at the home of our fave auntie! As a South Floridian, I've had my fair share of Arepas and honestly, these were better than most of what's available back home. Perfectly crisp on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside. Staff is polite, however, we were there for almost an hour and a half. Forty five minutes just waiting for the food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Food was delicious - I got their veggie scramble and added poached eggs and cheese which were both upcharges. Potatoes were sooo good and the veggies were amazing as well. Yum! Definitely coming back here if we're ever in seaside again. I got their elderflower mimosa and YUM. They had delicious drinks and a ton of breakfast drink options. My partner got a margarita and it was one of the best margaritas either of us has ever had. I have to highlight the pancakes which were probably some of the best I've had. They were a pretty decent portion as well and the sausage I got was delicious too.
