I finally decided to look around for an orthodontist that was good. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Dopazo. I was interested in learning about my eligibility for Invisalign and I was given a free consultation! Whoo hoo. I was really fortunate to get an appoint not to long after I called in so that was also amazing. The location of the office is in the San Marco area, which is super convenient for me. There is ample parking on premises. The staff was wearing masks and they had Covid-19 precautions like hand sanitizer out for patient use. I was helped by two wonderful women, Stephanie and Sara. They made me feel comfortable as they took several shots of my teeth from various angles and then took x-rays. When Dr. Dopazo came in to chat with me she wasn't in a hurry and took time to answer my questions and concerns. I absolutely dislike doctors that are in a hurry to get me out and don't have that bedside manner that is so important. Dr. Dopazo exudes empathy and care, which makes me happy I chose to come in. In the end I wasn't a candidate for Invisalign, but the staff and Dr. Dopazo walked me through next steps. I am not sure yet if I will be back, but I do know that I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this office for your orthodontic needs. You won't regret it.

Just don't go here, they're absolutely awful, I got a root canal and crown done here, and I've had…read moreto have the crown recemented 4-5 times since, when they left my insurance network they never informed me until I received a hefty bill, which eventually disappeared but ever since every time I come in for services my bill is always higher than originally quoted, or I pay and get a bill for $100+ more $$ in the mail a month or two later, I came in to get my crown fixed and informed them I was pregnant, they then scheduled me a cleaning appointment (knowing full well I was pregnant and had received clearance from my OB) they then told me when I came in for said cleaning they couldn't treat me because I was pregnant, and are now trying to charge me and my insurance $130 when they couldn't even treat anything! Absolutely awful business, constantly have more issues after a visit than I did before, and seriously? Why does it take 4+ times of giving me a "temporary solution" before you discuss permanent solutions with someone? I will say the ladies are kind, which was the only thing that kept encouraging me to go back, but when I'm told "they'll figure it out with my insurance" and then get over charged constantly even when I clarify that I need out the door prices to budget, that is a deal breaker for me especially when I'm in pain but too scared to go in out of fear of how much they're going to randomly charge me next!

So I called this morning. I told them I would be getting him at school at 2:30pm. They said I could call the after hours number (admin girl gave it to me) and they they would come up to the office and meet us for quick adjustments. It's Friday, so we really need this so he's not in pain all weekend. You know where this is going. The "emergency line" is just a voice mail that clearly no one is checking. I have left 3 voice mails and no reply at all. What's the use in an "emergency line" that isn't attended to?

But I go for cleanings every 3 months. I have been to 5 cleanings so far with this office and EACH TIME there is a different hygienist doing my cleaning, and most of them I did not feel was a good cleaning. If I wanted to have a different person cleaning my teeth each time, I would go to the DDS school and be a practice for a student. Thats what I felt like each of my cleanings were. Moving here from Palm Beach County Florida and trying to find all new everything from Doctors, to DDS etc was huge. I became concerned after the 3 visit noticing all new people, but now it is the 5th and final time. I have a new DDS lined up already. My old DDS down south I went to for 8 years and only 1 change in hygienists. Not sure why this office has a revolving door of hygienists. Also they billed me for the cleaning AND a $10. PPO ADJUSTMENT? I mailed them a check for the cleaning, but not sure why they are adding on any adjustments. Watch your bills carefully.
