4 stars for this retro, family-owned, local deli! I've been craving a good sandwich and have known about Ossie's since I've moved to Tsawwassen. However, it wasn't until last week that I got to try them out. Note that this place is cash only. There is an ATM at the 7/11 next door and a few banks nearby. They're well known for their schnitzel sandwiches, so that's what I got. On top of that I got a reuben sandwich for my dad and a chicken pot pie to split. Everything was delicious. The chicken schnitzel sandwich was MASSIVE. I ate half and saved the rest for the manfriend. I do wish the chicken schnitzel tasted more fresh and crispy. I saw them microwave the cheese onto the schnitzel, which I'm assuming made the breading a bit more soggy. Regardless, it was still good. If you're craving a good deli sandwich, definitely pop into Ossie's!

This place is a solid 3 stars. It's a retro old school deli, one of the few that still exists in the lower mainland. It's considered a local to go place that's been around forever in Tsawwassen. Just look at all those photos on the picture wall! It's located on the main strip of Tsawwassen, just beside the DQ. If you're on the way to Pt. Rob for gas, this is a nice stopover. Lots of local flavour if you know what I mean. (There were a lot of construction guys getting their lunch while I was there). They have lots of types of sandwiches, all for under $10. I tried the schnitzel burger, which was ok, but not mind blowing. The goulash soup was heartier than expected with lots of beef chunks and the greek salad was very fresh. I also tried their chocolate oatmeal cookie and apple turnover, but was not wowed by them. Overall, this is still a reasonable option considering there isn't much choice in the area other than the food court at the mall, which doesn't have much to entice me.

Nothing better than ossie's on a sunny Saturday

Tsawwassen locals all know this spot as the most delicious lunch spot in the lower mainland. This IS the definition of a hidden gem. If you like deli sandwiches, get the schnitzel burger, it's what they're known for. Today I had the Stout and it was fabulous. The original owner was an awesome man, who always made people smile when they came into his deli. It's still run by family. This place will always be the heart of tsawwassen and my favourite local tsawwassen spot.

We were not even hungry, as we ate breakfast/lunch while being in Steveston Village, and walking around noticed a sign for a bakery, and my 'meat-addicted' mind wanted to come into this place! They are the new kids to the block, but when you enter you know quality when you see it. All types of meat, some even 'dangerous' looking (the all albino white one, see that and you be the judge!') to your arteries, but you know it's going to be so damn good in your mouth. The people working here were very informative as to their product, knowledgable and friendly. Explaining the whole process of the meats, as to where they are processed, what is in all their versions of sausage, the ingredients, the taste, and even the storage, and knowing that there is no preservatives, so you shouldn't just buy, and keep them laying around in the fridge, as they will discolor, but don't you worry, they are still edible, just not as attractive as when you bought them, and that is why you should come in here, buy, go home, cook and enjoy! I ended up buying two sausages from them for our late dinner breakfast, yes it sounds weird, I know, having buttermilk pancakes for dinner, and I needed a meat side, and I was amazed at the flavor of these links! My partner was iffy about the feta cheese that was in these things, but the hint of spice, there was fruit in them, and meat, a mixture that just made us wish we had more, but now we know, this is the place to hit up for your specialty quality meats if your in Richmond. Already thinking of the next 'breakfast' time, and making the trek to try their other assortment of sausages, and maybe tempt that maple bacon I saw out of the corner of my eye!

They offer a wide variety of produce and speciality foods. I have discovered some of my favorite new items through purchasing through them, and for a shop of this calibre, the prices are good too. Their delivery service is prompt in that you can select a delivery for the following day, and their deliveries are well packaged, sustainable and returnable/recyclable. Their delivery person is also really nice, which can change, but is a nice bonus. I'd say their website user interface needs some help, as things go missing in my cart without notification, but that's a minor nit to pick. The best aspect of this company is their customer service. They are very considerate of their customers - I once ordered some chips and was given a small discount after purchase because of the short shelf life. The explanation came on a little note (see photo), and I appreciated it the thought!

I buy a lot of fresh veg and bananas, and the produce is excellent albeit a little higher priced. But I'll pay a little more for consistency which saves me time going to another store. I've also always had very positive interaction asking if they have more/bigger in the back. Well stocked shelves, very clean store, lovely bakery, nice variety (especially considering it's a smaller store), nice atmosphere, and great floral department. Some good snack and lunch ideas in the deli department. The store may be small but they almost always have what I want and more. One stop shopping 99.9% of the time. Their customer service is excellent. I also want to mention one specific experience. I'm a local shop keep and my two door freezer went down one day. I went over to Thriftys and asked if there was any chance I might be able to store some inventory in their freezer for a day or two til mine got fixed. One of the owners said they didn't really have the space (like I said, it's small store), but then he looked at me and said, "You know what? We'll make the space for you." I was so grateful. Turns out I didn't need to take him up on it after all, but his willingness to help me out really carried a long way. Life long customer right here! Check em out!
